my i9000m finally died and had the internal sd problem
made the usb jig and got into Download mode.
Now, how do i recover the files that i need on the internal sd ?
maybe recovering is a better way to put it
i don't really see any button in Odin that points towards recovering specific files in the internal sd
If the 3 button combi is working...then no problem....put it back in download mode again...and reflash the f/w thru ODIN...simple...

But the internal sd died
i get the:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(No such file or directory)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:
copy default media content failed
If the internal SD card died then you can't recover what's on it.
You could try a program called recuva and see what it finds but chances are slim.
Check the general section someone has made a work around for the SD failure. I can't post link I'm on mobile version

you're probably talking about this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973687
but from what i gather. the internal sd is still off-limits.
i've flashed, JPU, and then JH2 and then DamianGTO STEAM kernel (Beta)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901772
theres a couple format options, and theres a file manager. but nothing in there that appears i can access my internal sd card files

Like the topic says I need to root my phone without internal or external SD card access.
I would like to do this so I can try to backup my nv_user and related files before I try another partition since I have had no luck finding a solution to being able to mount my external or internal sd cards.
I have the "Mount Point absent or incorrect." error dialog showing up in my status bar.
I tried searching for solutions to both problems but Have been unlucky so far.
For sgs u definitely have a internal sd.
you definitely have an internal sd-card. however if you want to do it without or have problems with it you can flash a kernel+su with odin: thread on samdroid

Phone says neither them are mounted. Same as in the recovery mode. When I check the sd card and memory in the settings menu both are unavailable. It says I am running off 2 gigs of system memory.
So yes I have an internal sd card. It just won't mount and in recovery mode it won't be found.
That's why I said it wouldn't mount. Not that it didn't exist.
I trying not to flash the phone until I can make a back up of thee nvdata files. So I will check the kernel flash and hopefully it won't effect the nvdata. But I'm guessing it does.
I should have stated a different Title for this thread as my real problem is either Int/Ext SD card corruption or something else deeper within the phone.
I will try formatting it with ubuntu like someone else suggested. That will have to wait until I get home and take a bit since I have no linux experience.
Also, the memory *2gb is showing is labelled as Internal Phone Storage.
Thanks
I'm assuming this has to do with the fact that your phone wont flash anyfirmware after JPC right?
Let me know how it goes.
I can flash but it took some messing around. None of the other firmwares even the stock bell one are stable now and I have no access to either the int or ext sd card. Just the 2gb internal non-sd memory. And after JPC my signal is pretty messed up.
My (wifes) phone now also says internal sd card unavailable.
Is there a solution to this? Happened after I upgraded from JH2 to JM6. The same upgraded process worked on my phone (followed the guide exactly).
Guys, just have a look around these forums or use the search button. This is the most common issue with the I9000M and there is no need for another thread about it.
I've had the Captivate for a couple of months now and am on xda reading everyday (my wife says I'm obsessed) -- I have yet to find the cause/solution for my problem. I've searched and found similar topics, but I'm not sure if they really apply to my issue.
This problem has followed me to a couple of different ROMs. I started with stock Eclair, Serendipity 5.xx, Cognition 4.1, stock Froyo, and then back to Cognition 4.1.1. I don't recall exactly when the issue started, but I think it was around Cog4.1/stock Froyo.
In Android, I can see it just fine as /sdcard/external_SD (normally use Linda manager). I can copy/move files to/from without any issues. If I plug the phone into the computer, I can access both internal and external SD cards with no problems.
Anyway, CWM 2.5.1.3 -Voodoo Lagfix will not see/mount my external SD card. Attempting to mount /sd-ext produces the error:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 (*NOTE: I've seen posts with this message, but under slightly different circumstances)
(File Exists)
Error mounting SDEXT:!
If, however, I go to "choose zip from sdcard" and then navigate to "external_SD" it will "go" -- however this is **NOT** my external SD card, it appears to be a separate partition. My actual external SD has lots of folders and files, but the CWM "external_SD" has two files that I copied to it attempting to troubleshoot the issue.
A few minutes ago, within Android, I found that if I unmount my external SD, when I navigate to "external_SD", I don't see the files on my true external SD (as expected), but instead I see the partition with my two test files.
I apologize for this lengthy post, but I am at a loss and don't know what else to try. If this has been covered somewhere else, again, I apologize and would greatly appreciate pointing my in the right direction.
Thanks much!
jsbac
how big is this partition?
**i think** somewhere along the road you clicked "partition sd card" in clockwork recovery.
use windows: Start> Administrative tools > "computer management" > "disk management" tree > edit/delete/expand/shrink partitions manually.
Checked partitions in Windows. The mystery "external_SD" wasn't a partition. it was a plain folder named external_SD (don't remember creating that folder, but probably did). I deleted the folder. I still get the same message in CWM.
When connected to the computer, the internal storage shows as FAT32, capacity 13.03GB (single partition); the external storage shows as FAT32, capacity 7.6GB (which is correct - also single partition).
Just for the record, this issue doesn't appear to be creating any stability or performance problems. I want to figure this out just because...
I appreciate the help thus far.

Anyone have any other ideas of how to get my external SD card to mount in CWM?

i have this trouble too on speedmod_k13c kernel.
i want to place and store all my roms and patches on external sd, but now I'm afraid to do it
maybe it's need to create folder with special name on internal SD (ext-sd for example), which will be point of mount.
unfortunately, CWM don't echo detailed information about error even

Flashing different ROMs can lead to this. It's always a good idea to remove your external SD when flashing.
Try dumping the contents of the card to your PC with a card adapter, then reformat using this:
http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter20.html
Use the FULL (ERASE ON) setting and leave FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT off.
When you put the files back on, only put the data, don't put any system settings etc back on.
Ok -- I will try this when I get home tonight.
Thanks,
jsbac

I just flashed serendipity 6.4 and it runs very very well. However since flashing, my pc has not recognized my internal SD card. The external sd card immediately pops up when connected. I can't access it from my pc at all, but when just on my phone, I can browse the file in astro. I already tried changing the it to mass storage in the usb settings. Any tips?
Check to make sure its mounted.
Settings>sd card and storage> internal sd
Thats the only thing I got.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
If the above doesn't work, go into recovery and try and mount SD cards from there and see what it does. If it still doesnt mount flash to stock and get it warranty replaced
Im gonna try flashing back to stock and see if it recognizes. It should... hopefully. thanks
Next time, post in the ROM-specific sticky if your question is related to a certain ROM.
Experience CM10 like never before!!
Assuming u have the LG and Apx drivers installed then proceed with the installation. If not back off!!
I had only the stock froyo rom and i had found installing other roms kind of a pain i wanted the ultimate quick experience to crown this device with a great retirement(adding jellybean to it). Lets get started.
Downloads:
-Cwm special installation file. (u need external sd card for cwm to work)
-My Patched CM10.1 aka 4.2.2-
-gapps
What u need to to:
-put ur device in apx mode.(remove battery, then hold vol +&- for 4 secs then connect usb and dont let go until u notice device is linked to pc)
-go to cwm and run flash.bat.Wait till everything is done and it tells u "press any key to continue..."
-On reboot u should be stuck on CWM no matter what u do.
-Now move to mount and storage and mount usb storage.
-Transfer my patched file and gapps to ur device.
-Then install zip from sd card and then install my file and reboot.
-Boot should take abit long but it eventually boots and works flawlessly.
Issues:
- u need an sd card for cwm & rom to work very well or else ur phone wont be able to read ur memory and so wont store anything.
-After installation the internal SD card wont work so go into recovery and flash this file.(u need an external sd card as this will swap your external and internal storage)fixed with this
-The method above is usually reverted and as of now i've found now way to keep it stable to use external memory!!
-During call hang-up doesn't work.Go to accessibility in settings and choose "power button ends call" & "home button answers call" for the workaround to this.

4.) then go to setting/storage click mount
i did that procedure but i still getting an error no luck on mounting my internal sd card..

Then just undo what u did by reversing what u changed. If internal storage doesnt work then cm10 doesnt work with ur internal storage so get an external one.(way cheaper than getting a new device):angel:Normally my tips in previous post should help.
hi, the changing of sdcard0 to sdcard1 worked for me but same as others my internal storage is not being detected funny i also tried to reverse but no good, good thing i have extra sd card lolx too bad we won't be able to use the 16gb internal storage... if there is any news for this please share thanks!
edit for follow-up: i tried to reinstall the rom you created but this time this is what i did,
1. put phone to apx then flash.bat
2. put phone to CWM mode
3. mount sd card
4. my computer detected the external sd card and the internal but it says format so i did format the internal
5. installed the rom and then gapps then when i try to mount emmc on CWM this time its working hehe
6. reboot phone then i checked the storage BOOM! there it is! internal and external detected! then only problem i have now is the camera app is missing lolx any help???

If you are rooted, just use Clocksync. It will automatically sync the time and date for you, so no more going back to 2007
hi there!
I managed to flashed CM10 with CWM 5.0.2.8e recovery. Problem is rom can't mount internal & external sdcards. while I can manually mount the internal sdcard in cwm to copy files, external is no way to be found in cwm. I already posted a reply on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987772 but seems wkpark is such a busy person. Also flashed those 2 patch zip files (su660-emmc-fixer-default & switched) but to no avail.
Hope you can give me light on this. I love having JB on this phone (SU660). Just aching on this in/ex sdcards mounting problem.

dont be lazy mate!Read the thread and get others problems. It has been mentioned before.
I installed cwm 5.0.2.7 via odin 1.6, now it is telling me that error 7 basically telling me it is not the right rom for my device. I double checked and it is. I found a work around erase the get asset portion in the script. The issue is now the file is on the internal sd card, and I can't access it and cwm won't mount my external sd card, to put a modified rom on there. I can't boot into download mode as it just keep putting me back into the cwm recovery screen. Is there a way to access the internal sd card, mount it with a usb cable in recovery mode, or is there a different way to put it in download mode, and download a different rom on to the internal sd card. This is my nephews tablet, and he will be devastated if I can't fix it.
I don't own a P1010
