Here are notification and ringtones from the Nexus S, AKA Gingerbread.
HOW TO USE:
1. On your SD card make a folder called "media"
2. Make another folder into it called "audio"
3. Make 2 folders one called "notifications" and the other called "ringtones"
4. Extract the zip, and go into the ringtones folder in the zip, copy or move them in to sd/media/audio/ringtones. sd/media/audio/notifications for the notification sounds.
If this does you any good, please add to my thanks meter.
Thanks a whole bunch! I missed some of the notifications from my Nexus S. How did you get them off the phone?

I have the Darky 10.1 Rom installed on my SGS but there is no Samsung Ring tone installed so I downloaded it but I can't move it to the correct media folder.
Using ES File explorer I go to /sdcard/tunes
I press and hold Samsung_tune.ogg and then click copy
I then move to System/Media/Audio/Ringtones
when I click paste I get "Samsung_tune.ogg copy failed"
Can anyone help with moving this file to the right directory so I can set it as a ringtone??
Other possibility: you have an folder called 'music', right? In this folder you create a folder named 'ringtones'. In this folder you copy all downloaded ringtones and you should be able to use them as ringtone. (same is possible with notifications)
Are you sure you are set to r/w when you are doing this?

Get root explorer from the market, when you use it you will see r/o and r/w options at top of the screen, hopefully then you should be able to achieve mission! Atb

I'll have a look at getting that.

RAZR Boot Animation plus amplified Audio file for the Droid BIONIC
(for louder boot animation sound)
Razr's boot animation is not bad, the animation's audio file could be improved. Here is a howto for the audio portion of the boot animation to make it louder.
Edit: 1/27/13 - put the downloads via dropbox instead of mediafire.
Step by step Install:
Code:
1. Download the droidhd.ogg file from this post.
2. Open Root Explorer...
[LIST]
Go to where droidhd.ogg was downloaded to your phone. (Mine was downloaded originally to the /sdcard/download folder.)
[/LIST]
[LIST]Long press on "droidhd.ogg," then select "Move."
[/LIST]
[LIST]In Root Explorer, go to /system/media
[/LIST]
[LIST]While your in /system/media, on the top right corner of your screen press "Mount R/W, " it should now appear as "Mount R/O."
[/LIST]
[LIST]Paste the droidhd.ogg inside /system/media
[/LIST]
[LIST]Change Permissions for the droidhd.ogg file to rw-r--r--
[/LIST]
Reboot and Enjoy.
Below is a video of the difference in sound from stock to amplified.

Followed everything the boot works perfect but i still get no sound?? I have a Galaxy S2 and in the media folder there are only .qmg files and no other .ogg files. I have a AUDIO folder in the Media folder with .ogg files in there, but there are 3 subfolders in the AUDIO folder named:
Alarms, Notifications, Ringtones, AND Ui.... i tried it in UI and still no sound...any help??
not sure what i'm doing wrong but I cannot get this to work. did everything in the instructions to a T and it just keeps booting with the animation from my purity rom. i even took that one out of system/media and it just booted with a "android" blue logo... any ideas???
I tried this because I am using a theme that has this boot animation but no sound. I am using a droid X2 but dont think its much different than the Bionic. I tried installing the sound by following the directions, but I still get no sound when booting.
I am writing an instruction thread for making custom boot animation sounds for the X2, it will be up in a few days.

I have tried this on my Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman and the images works fine. But there is no audio.
Rooted with Stock ROM.
Any ideas?
Its tricky, once I get mine finished and get a successful boot with them my instructional thread will go up, it should be universal for all devices but we'll see.

Have you tried to search for the factory .ogg file that your Droid x2 has already? That may be where you wanna add the droidhd.ogg in as well as the bootanimation

Its in system/media and I am working on it right now. Its more than just placement its permissions, parameters within the bootanimations desc.txt file among other things. Its never as easy as placement.

The ".qmg" file in /system/media would be your boot animation sound file. I would be willing to look at your files if you wanna send me the bootanimation file that came stock as well as the qmg files to see if we can make this work.

Alright so I am using a boot animation that came with a separate sound file not included in the bootanimation.zip. I converted it to .ogg and the trick is to place the sound file (converted to .ogg) in system/media and then use absolute system's desc.txt editor to change the sound file to be used to the one you want by selecting the "s" line which will bring up a window prompting you to select the .ogg file from either the root of your sd card or from the root of the system/media folder. You must then select which one you want to use, press save changes and once changes are saved you must hit "install" to install the bootanimation. From there you must go back to the system/media folder and long pressure the audio/.ogg file you had previously selected and choose "move." From there you go to the system/media/notification folder and paste it there. Then you SHOULD be all set. The only reason I have not put up my instructional thread yet is because for some reason it will only play an .ogg file that is native/ original to the specific bootanimation you are trying to use it for but I will work on it some more and research for a solution. I will keep you updated.

If you're not interested in the story.. skip to the last paragraph in red.. like this one.. obviously.
I mean seriously.. Am i the only one with this stupid problem.. I restart the phone after somehow the system crashes..
and find the phone with no launcher.. yah.. actually there's no launcher.. and a continuous bootanimation?
WTF??
Actually.. after i turn the phone On.. the so called Bootanimation keeps playing and playing..
and i can still feel the Unlock slider thing.. that it's there..
Well, the phone is obviously functioning Normally .. but with the bootanimation on.. and on.. and on...... and on.
What i do is.. I miss call my self.. the screen shows that some1 is calling..
after i disconnect or do whatever.. the screens lights up.. and comes back to life.. with NO LAUNCHER.
only whatever i used.. which shows in Recent apps.. If i just could get the damn files explorer up!
Well, now i'm wondering.. is there anyway.. ANYWAY..
i can install a Launcher.. without having to do that through the phone????
or somehow open the files explorer?
If you have no launcher, you should flash one via recovery. Find an update zip with an app (such as a modded music app) and replace that apk with a launcher apk.

Thanks Chris.. But can you provide me with such update.zip.. Please?
I'm so sorry man.
I would do it for you but I'm from the phone right now.
Just get my zip with the xperia fonts. Delete the "fonts" folder which is inside the "system" folder.
Now, create a folder on your desktop and name it "app", lower case! Put the apk of the launcher you want there.
Next, drag that folder into the "system" folder of my zip.
So now it's zip/system/app/thelauncher.apk
Flash that and you should have a launcher now.

Your updater script is deleting the existing folders and replacing them with the ones in this Zip. I don't want to remove the existing sounds. I am going to extract the Zip, and copy paste the files in to respective folders using root explorer. Will that work?

and i put it in system-madie-ringtons
but when i open it i see the ringtons but

bip and not the ringtons
i am useing new maclaw rom cm11
thank for all helpers
:fingers-crossed:
You don't have to put them in system ringtones just put them in your SD card then press and hold the song you want to add as ringtone then select " use as ringtone " :good:
Yes I know that but it most easy when it on systems folder for the sms ring and clock
Sent from my GT-I8190 using Tapatalk
you must set permission to rw-r-r for all ringtones copied to system - otherwise they don´t work.
How???
Do I need root explore
Cos I am using solid explore

I use both
But you can do it with Solid Explorer.
Copy it to /system/tmp, set permission to rw-r-r (longpress on the file)
then copy it to the ringtones folder.
