What the post says. Master cleared (with odin) my wife's phone and left the sim card in by mistake and now when I try to import contacts from sim it shows sim card as empty. Anyone else ever make this mistake and if you got them back, how?

Check to see if her numbers are stored on her gmail account, if they are then you can get them from that.

Have you tried to put the sim card in another phone to verify they were erased?
Problem solved... they just appeared a few hours later from the sim card. And no they weren't backed up with Gmail, they are now though. So weird I tried importing from sim several times but it always showed as empty. Shrug

Help!!!
So I had the power button failure and no electronic cleaner would fix it. I bought a broken captivate off ebay and replaced the motherboard. I had to take the daughter board off my old motherboard and place it on the new motherboard cause the old daughter board had a bend sd card holder. Turned on the phone and it had a lock on it so I did a hard reset. Now the phone turns on and seems to work great except for the fact that I have no network connection and my contacts from my sim card dont show up under my contacts. Sim card worked fine before the switch and works in my blackberry right now so I dont think its the sim card. I have re-checked all the connections and they are fine. Hopefully someone can help me with this.
Thanks!
Edit: Wifi works but still no network.
I was flashing modems on the move and got a sim lock msg on boot. Had no connection to the network. I don't know if this is the same problem but I resolved it by downloading "Galaxy S Unlock" app from the market. It's the purple computer tower/wrench icon. Hope this helps!
have no IMEI number, phone not rooted.
I put the other motherboard back in my phone until I "hopefully" figure this out. Is there a way I can copy my IMEI number from the original motherboard to the new one so it will work?
/efs folder on root has my imei backup. There might be a more specific app to deal with this. A search of the forums " EW] IMEI generator and ROM zip update" might be what you a step in the right direction. Like I mentioned I just used galaxy s unlock and it fixed everything.
(Can't post links being a noob sorry)
Guess I will have to root the phone and try this method then. Thanks
I have the same problems. The power button stopped working, then before I could get to repairing it, my wife left the phone in the sprinklers and the nothing would work. I disassembled the phone, cleaned with CRC cleaner- got it working, but with green tint to everything. Disassembled, cleaned all contacts with CRC & q-tips- got display back to normal but now it does not recognize the sim card. Card works fine on old phone though. When I get home I will check the imei #.

lol, Im in Bakersfield too. Maybe its something in the air?
I tried to root it last night with super one click but the program kept locking up and stopped responding. What are other alternatives to rooting the phone?
Mine is also missing the imei number when I look for it under phone info. What does the sim card have to do with the imei #?

I'm experiencing the exact same situation. Already got a new sim card from the operator, and nothing changed.
Tried reflashing a different rom and it seemed to hold for a few days, but it started happening again.
Have you found a way to fix this?
Thanks.
Hi.
I have recently gotten a tmo galaxy note 4.
For some reason, I started getting
'sim card full - please delete messages on sim card storage '. Every 30 minutes.
But when I checked, there were no messages or contacts for me to delete.
I searched on Google but it seems like only solution puerile aww giving is just to delete messages.
Does anybody know a fix for this issue? Or any experience? Thanks.

BAD ASS NOTE 4 + BAD ASS GEAR S
I started having the same issue today. My SIM is new with no contacts or messages stored on it.
Same here
I'm having the same issue. New note 4, new Sim card with only 1 message on it referencing OTA ok. Had anyone found a fix to this annoying message?

I had the same issue... Download an app which can clean any messages from your sim card. If there are no messages to clean, turn off your phone and take out the sim card. Wipe gently and put the sim card back ensuring that it is seated properly. Even a small change in seating the sim card can give you that message , especially if you dropped the phone recently
sim card full

Same exact problem here.. I'm glad I'm not the only one getting annoyed with the Flippin SIM message. My issues didn't start until I received a new sim card, which was just replaced YESTERDAY! I was received "Network or SIM card error" and then my calls were being fwd to lala land. I'm really getting pissed at this stupid phone..... I want my N:crying:3 back!!!
I recently set up a VZW developer edition for my gf and she had been using it without any problems for about 6 days. Today she tells me she got some kind of pop-up message/warning that she can't remember the details of. The phone then rebooted and all service was gone. The phone is basically acting as if there's no SIM inserted now. I tried rebooting multiple times with and without the SIM inserted and still the same thing.
EDIT: OK, so I think the message she saw was just for a SU binary update.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
It could just be a bad SIM card.

Yeah, it's either the SIM or the phone; easier to start with the SIM. I re-activated her old phone and ordered a new SIM priority overnight.
LG G6 - tmobile unlocked with AT&T Sim - Contacts App crashing only if sim present
I have an unlocked tmobile phone with an at&t sim. The contacts app does not open and I keep getting an error message that "Contacts keeps stopping ". This happens only when the simcard is inside the phone. As soon as I remove the card from the phone, contacts app works fine.
I tried the following and none of them work with the sim inside.
1. Booting the phone in safe mode
2. Clearing the cache and data for contacts
3. Wiping out the cache partition
4. Master reset
Any idea on resolving this ?
Interesting, I've got this exact same issue and did not find how to resolve it so, I'm trying to sell the phone, no root and basic issues as such make me wonder about my choice
I had the same problem. It has something to do with video calling I believe. I powered on my phone with a t mobile SIM in it. I then hot-swapped to the AT&T SIM with the dialer open - it rebooted due to the hot-swap, and the contacts app and dialer work fine now.
It may work by booting with no SIM, opening contacts (or dialer) and then inserting it.
I had same issue. use different dialer app
i have been usign drupe .

Thank you! This got my working again.
Same setup - T-Mobile Unlocked on AT&T network.
Powered off the phone without the SIM & SD Card. Opened the phone/contacts app, inserted the SIM card/SD Card holder. Phone rebooted and worked.
