Hi
I just installed XXJVK with bootloader and root, now Im trying to flash some of $omator's modifications (Link)
For some reason Im having a problem, says the file is not signed. Tried to copy files manually but that didnt work either.
Can someone please point me in the right direction here? been at it for hours

I think you need 2E recovery in order to install unsigned updates, you can simply flash CF-Root Kernel which should enable you to install unsigned updates.
You can get the info here:

hi
my main aim is to get froyo on my milestone/droid from 2.1 but in order to that i need to have recovery 2e but i got 3e, 3e wont let me unpack usign.zip's that way if i have 2e it would ive tried so many ways and the best i can find is this
cf root just google it xda wont let me put up link it requiers odin to flash.
when i go into odin it says image path then asain writing when i try to load the files from that thread that i downloaded it says invalid image type and when i press start it says check image file iv double cheked the files downloaded them from diffrent browsers and still nothing im realy getting fed up with this btw its not rooted please i really need help.thnx
any1 please
I just upgraded to to the leaked official froyo but now everytime i attempt to apply an update.zip file i receive the following error:
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
I have tried this with various files including roots, voodoo and the microbes live wallpaper.
Facts that may help:
I used this tutorial:
http: / / samsunggalaxysforums.com/showthread.php/2921-How-to-use-Odin-to-upgrade-to-Froyo-from-Eclair
I am rooted via Z4 root (i attempted to apply update.zip files before rooting and it that didn't work either).
The froyo firmwares come with 3e recovery which only allows that signed update files be applied. The easiest thing to is flash a rom that states it includes 2e recovery or flash a kernel that states the same. For example, I flashed speedmod kernel.
Check the dev forum for the downloads and related instructions.
Try cf-root, it changes recovery to 2e that allows installing unsigned files.
Is there a CF-root file for Froyo BYJP8 on 2.2. Have galaxy s and cannot root it as i has 3e recovery.
Any help or advice would be great as i am trying to get Darkys Rom on but need to be rooted first.
Thanks in Advance
Try flashing the JPX CF-root kernel.
If this one does not work is it likely to damage the phone at all. I don't want a brick that's all

Click to collapse
You did ask about a kernel that will work with your device, I did answer. If you only want to root then try Super One Click.
I'm sorry if I was not very clear
I want to install a custom firmware. To be able to do this I need to have 2e not 3e recovery manager to use an unsigned update.zip file to root. To do this after searching I need a cf-root file to root the phone and not a zip on the sd.
Then I need to use Odin to install my custom firmware.
The phone needs to be rooted before I can install the firmware according to darkys rom install guide
CF-Root-XX_XEU_JPY-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1
thats 2 e recovery if you search for that filename .
Suggest Rom Kitchin and build your won rom .

Installed Simply Honey 2.3.4, cant acess clockwork recovery, try to apply update.zip in stock recovery but i get E:signature verification failed.
You need a kernel with CWM
Update.zip only worked with 2e recovery. As per above post, flash a custom kernel with cwm included.
i little more info please
Can someone please link to a working kernal and Odin instructions on how to flash
Thanks so much

Guys,
i really need help....someone......please
I have the galaxy s i9000
It is on stock 2.1 update 1
i have rooted it....but the sad part is that it is the model that came with the bootloader locked....
I have, however, found a way to solve that.....
My question is:
I could unlock the bootloader..using the 3-button fix...which involves installing a tar file of the secondary bootloader using odin....
Then, i thought i can download the zip file for cwm for my device...and flash it using the recovery....
How can i do that??
Is it a viable option?
And lastly, can i install cm 7 on stock 2.1
If not, please please please help me out....it is really urgent...
Someone....please!!
Cheers
I think that you have to flash a JVU with Odin and get a CFROOT kernel. If you begin to this you should be able to flash other roms.
