Lag fix notification sound issue in SGS - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

while flashing kernel or Rom..the lag fix notification(either enable or disable) sound is not clear...
note:-
i am using mostly darky kernal..

i fail to understand the problem
do you not know if the lagfix is enabled or disabled ?
you can easily check by booting into recovery and look at the filesystems

hi azzledazzle,
the problem is while changing lag fix enable state to disable state (or) op-site..
the lag fix conversion notification sound will come.. this sound is not clear...

Robotic voice on the notification is just normal. And it's not like you do this every hours neither!
If you don't have quality issue with rings, music or normal notification, I say it's not realy an issue!

Might it be the beta Voodoo that deadly has put in the rom with the garbled boot sound .
jje

Thanks..for the clarification..
note:-
when i was use 2.2.1 JPY with "Voodoo-stable-5.4-Froyo-2.2.1-GT-I9000" kernal the sound was clear...
but while using 2.3.3 Rom (Ficeto_JVB_Odin) i have the sound problem.

[Q] SGS I9000 front speaker not working

The speaker (the front one used during calls) stopped working for a while on my phone.
It happened approx a day after I upgraded to Darky's 9.4 ROM (with JQ1 modem) but I don't think it's related.
I tried rebooting the phone but it didn't fix it.
I tried skype calls as well, the symptoms were the same as with regular calls:
- the other party could hear me
- I couldn't hear them
- when I set the phone to speaker mode I could hear them
I thought I'm gonna have to return the phone but then it looks like the issue got fixed by itself.
Any ideas?
Any ideas?
Its a Darky rom thats the answer and its also where you should look for the answer .

For those who might find this thread:
This looks to be an issue with the voodoo sound driver v5 . The issue is fixed in v7.

[Q] Really bad sound during call

Hi !
I have a problem with my SGS, I'm under Gingerreal 1.0.0 with Voodoo Sound and last semaphore kernel.
The probleme is that when I call someone, he/she tells me that my sound is really bad, like I'm a robot or I'm speaking at 50m...
I cannot find if it is a hardware problem or sofware (bad Voodoo sound settings...) and I did not find any related post so maybe someone could help me

[Q] Why is my phone speaker quiet?

Me and my friend both have a galaxy s both running jw4 and his phone is louder when playing the same songs....only difference is im on semaphore kernel and on his phone everything is stock..Any ideas why its like that?
bump please :/
Is he/are you running some sort of Sound Eqaulizer to improve sound qaulity (for Jacks &/or Speaker)?
no but his music EQ is set to custom and everything is max...i do the same and his is still louder...but they were the same loudness when i flashed them to new firmwares
could it be semaphore thats causing this?

[Q] loudpeaker sound decreased after jelly bean update.

Hello freinds
. my cappy came with froyo 2.2 and i flashed cm 10.1 nightly rom on it. Everything seems to work fine execpt that the loudspeaker volume has decreased very much...then i tryed the captivating xperia themed but the loudspeker volume dint incresed so i decided to go back to stock with odin one click back to 2.2 and now the speker volume is loud like before..i have followed mr trusello's guide to flash the rom the odin way..
Now i want to flash a 4.2 rom without compromising on sound
Any help pls seniors.??????
Thanks
Am i the only 1 facing this issue?
Anyone????
CM Jelly bean has some sound related settings that will be unfamiliar to you coming from Froyo.
on 4.2, did you check the system settings, particularly for DSP manager on the speaker tab? and headset plug in jack safety?
did you download the voodoo sound app and they try unchecking the box for tune speaker for music or other voodoo settings?
As above, it's a bit of a known issue on jb.
If you have a ROM with dsp manager or a similar root sound manager, you can crank up the levels a bit in there by messing with it. I know SLIM has it embedded, same with captivating.
Experiment with some settings and find what works best for you. As far as a permanent fix goes, wait for an update?

thanks bro dsp manager solved the problem
Try Unofficial Semaphore by Nick0703. You'll be amazed now loud your speaker can be. This kernel enables In-Call Volume Controls in Settings>Device.

Latest CM or PA have the low call volume fixed, also using Yank555 kernal with the re-vamped boeffla engine solves any low call issues.
Hi All,
this is my first post on XDA

Volume fix walk-thru
Hi,
I've tried and tried using different custom ROMs on my S 3 GT-I9305, but I still have the same problem.
I'm getting extremely low inbound call volumes - I can't hear the other caller speak. It's especially bad when I try call-recording, which I need for my job. I've tried volume fix apps too, they don't work.
I understand Foxhound has a built-in call recorder for their S4 rom, but that won't install on my phone right?
So I'm left with trying to fix my favourite ROM, LiquidSmooth 2.9.
Can someone please walk me thru getting the right kernal, installing it and any other steps?
Hi,
I'm running the PAC man rom on my I9305 and I had the same issue with sound. I flashed the AGNi kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339848) and now no more sound issue and some interesting tweaks to improve battery life.
