My phone seems to get very hot when i place it for charging. It so hot that if i get a call i can't even place it by my ear. And it takes a lot of time to cool back down once i remove the charger.
Is it something that i'm facing or are there others also whoa are facing the same issue?
when the battery is bad, you get this kind of problem.
the charging current is too high for this battery, because the battery is not quite right.

I'll have to take the phn to service center then.

Seems the best option. Sometimes a bad battery slips through.
do you have warranty? Normally you get two years from htc.

Lol just worried ill be woken by a house fire one evening didn't know if other people have the same issue, it fizzes for around 30 seconds after being unplugged and all the time when plugged in.

From what I've heard, a large percentage of the LG chargers do make this noise (including mine), and I guess the volume varies too.
It does mean that it's a cheap, crappy charger but if you're not seeing any side-effects (such as the phone shutting off while charging) then it shouldn't matter. However I would advise to switch it off or unplug when not using it.
Mine is fizzing as well. As a precaution I remove the charger from the wall socket whenever I'm not around for a prolonged period of time. For what its worth: my phone randomly freezes both when charging and when not.
Dont worry. It's pretty common for cheap SMPS's. What you hear is the power supply's switching frequency
Yeah I've had the auto shut offs to and was hoping that that was down to a software problem? Hopefully chargers are not to blame.

Why not? Easy to swap a charger (as opposed to the phone itself! )
Hi I don't know anyone have same problem like me.I just got new HD 7 from tmobile and I have a issues phone getting hot after whatever talking on the phone or play phone five -ten minutes . You guys have same issues?!!if not I need to call tmobile to change new one.
(forgot to say the getting hot part r on The bottom of the back of the phone)
Its just the CPU its Not a defect this is how all of the hd7's are and how most 1ghz or higher phones are In fact the iPhone 4's cpu is underclocked to minimize the heat
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
is there any instance or any reported case where in the hd7's cpu overheated? or melted/toast/fried the cpu and some of the phones components?
If it overheats it shuts off and cant be turned on until it cools

thanks for reply but my question is this normal??! is it happen to all hd7? if not I need to call tmobile and get the new one.
Don't worry about it unless it reboots or you can't even touch it due to the heat. HTC stated on their official help site that the HD7 will get warm under heavy usage. I believe the problem was also present on the HD2 due to HTC's lack of a more efficient cooling process.
Same thing happens to my hd7 its rebooted a couple of times

If it reboots, you might want to get a replacement.

Mine just went went hot after 15 min use geochaching and fried my sim - had to get a replacement
Hi, im having exactly the same problem as you. After i did re-flashing to custom rom(deep shining), i left my phone charging at night(usb charging) until morning. My phone started to heat, not on battery side, it is at the bottom side.
The effect was heating all the time with battery 100% full charged will gone within 15minutes. I try all the way by reflashing diff. kind of custom ROM. But now i have original SPL with legit Mango. Still not changing anything.
Those symptoms are really come from processor problem?
I keep shifting from rom to rom but never had a problem. Recently after I shifted to Utacka's PA I have been having issues with the phone. Sometimes the battery charge drops to zero suddenly. Sometimes the phone screen flickers with bands across the screen and sometimes it just restarts on it's own. Even after shifting to Alliance's JB i get the similar issues. PLEASE HELP
Pullout the battery, is it bloated? Download betterbatterystats and check for what's using the battery most at these times, first place to start in guess.

Agree... if that will not work, try to shift to again to other rom.

The battery is a little fatter in the centre. I just hope its a battery issue and not some corrupt motherboard..

Does your phone think its charging even when not plugged in. If so it's your USB charge flex board. It would show as battery plummeting to zero charge indicator flashing on off and in settings about phone status it would switch from charging to disconnected

104F equals 40C. That temp is fine. If you do some more intense gaming, it will easily exceed that.
For the phone to do that while not in use, however, could be a little worrying if it wasn't charging. The phone can heat up quite a bit when charging from a deep discharge. Still a bit hot for a charge.
I remember I once had my One X charging. I left for a while, when I came back it was super hot. No idea why, but it happened once or twice in the year that I had it.

Hey guys I'm having this issue with my phone.. I'm on stock Rom but have modifications on it.. rooted..soffed.. etc but this really weird thing is happening like I charge my phone then I unplug it but don't use it.. after like 3 minutes u check on it and it's 90% .. happens every Time... Maybe it's a battery problem ?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Do you have any battery monitoring apps? Something has to be eating the crap out of your battery, I'd recommend GSam battery monitor.. see what is using your battery and adjust accordingly, May need a Rom reflash if all else fails.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
It's called trickle charging. Phone charges to 100% then drops to 90% before starting the recharge. The phone will show 100% though because otherwise, the forums would be flooded with people saying "MY PHONE/CHARGER DOESN'T WORK OMG"
