Is there anyway to get chronium os working on our tab? There is another newer 7 inch tablet running it. Freescale make a tab that runs linix android or chronium. There are a few others.
Is there anyone working on this?

To be honest, I think that the Chrome OS will work much better on Tablets than on Netbooks. I would like to try one too if ever.

Does anyone think it is possible to some how trick the original Galaxy Tab into thinking it has a tegra 2? I know spacemoose is trying to port honeycomb for cdma galaxy tab. This might be usefull if honeycomb wont run on our processor. Also i wanna play Samauri 2!
I might be mistaken, but the Viewsonic Ggtab is a Tegra2...

Isnt it basically a tegra "1"?

A quick google for "viewsonic tegra" shows plenty of tegra 2 results.
I think that's what it's under the hood.

Honeycomb is NOT only for Tegra2 (http://news.samdroid.net/2011/01/android-3-0-honeycomb-has-no-minimum-hardware-requirements/ )...as an example, just look at the NookColor. It only has an 800mhz single core cpu and it's running Honeycomb just fine. Our Tabs will run it just as well, if not better than the Nook.
Were did you get sbp shell 3d? My tab refuses to instal it. Also i am about to instal 2.2.1 on my tmob tab. Any thoughts?
I hope this would be possible.
Lots of games will end up tegra2 only.
Our tab is powerful enough to run said games but they check for tegra2 so they don't work

That would be pretty neat. Its up to someone that actually owns the tablet to port it over though -- so i think we will be waiting for a while ;-)
im curious
whats so nice about the galaxy keyboard. is it very different?
would give it a shot absolutely but I am LOVVVING thumb keyboard
I'm curious - did Samsung include swype with their tab? (not that swyping across a 10" screen is all that useful)
Samsung tab is very much on par with the Xoom, also Tegra dual core and Android 3 based

I don't see what this has to do with the thread... unless you're saying that it should be easy to port?
You gotta wait for 10.1 system dump probably

I have downloaded NOVA HD 2 from Samsung Apps. I go to run it and it never starts. I get a white screen.
Anyone else found this?
Is it a THD version? If so the tablet doesn't have a tegra 2 chipset and therefore will not run on tab... Try the non-hd version of the game it might not be tegra chipset reliant

Nova 1 is broken on gingerbread on the tab. If you check gameloft forums they've known about it for months but it seems they still
haven't fixed it. Nova 2 on the android marketplace works perfectly on gingerbread on the tab, but it isn't free like nova 1- but still well worth getting.

Thanks for the replies. You would imagine that any apps that download from samsung apps will work on it , but i guess that it does other samsung phones as well.

when i scan the QR code an go to the market it says it not for my device.
also when i search for them on the market it does not find it.

Two questions.
What rom?
Are you in the US? Can't tell right now as I'm on my tab.

These apps are for tablets with Android 3.1 or higher, not for GB.
The P1000 is not a tablet, it's a big mobile phone!

i thought the big phone is the Phablet ie the Galaxy Note.
i thought the Galaxy TAB: the word :Tab" referred to the word "Tablet".
if allis for 3.1 and not GB. then that would make sense.
thanks for the reply
GT-P1000 was developed with phone UI, there's no GB tablet interface so yes, it is nothing but a big phone really. Only way for it to "become a tablet" is using one of the ics ROMs with 160 or lower dpi.

THANKS!!! I will try AOKP SGT7 build 40 and see if that works.
after flashing AOKP SGT7 build 40. still no luck.
I was wondering if Ubuntu can run on the Incredible S. From Ubuntu website it says that it is supposed to run on dual cores only. I am sure that Ubuntu can run on a ARM 1ghz cpu. Also is there a dock that connects the incredible s to a screen and desktop? I did some search but couldn't find anything. Thanks!
We didnt have a Video out... idk really if it works, but if it does, it would be laggy...

I once found a way to install it on android. It was a kind of virtual ubuntu running over android. It worked nice but the 4Giga system image was too big for my poor 16G sd so I uninstalled it. It is also not optimised for touchscreen so a little difficult to use.
I don't remember the name but if you're interested I can look for it when I'm on my computer in about 2-3 hours.

That's great if ubuntu can run in our IS:laugh:
