1) You have posted in the wrong forum.
2) Market works fine in 2.2 unless you flashed one of the pre-release builds.
The sticky at the top of the N1 gen forum tells you in bold NOT TO ASK QUESTIONS.

I'm having the same, or very similar problems. Basically, I'm seeing paid apps, and my purchases, but I'm not seeing the "Top Paid" tab, nor is the Market acting in any sane or rational way. For example, I install an app, and the notification bar will say downloading, then installing, then the notification that it installed. In the Market download window, though, I see it download, then switch to installing, but never get beyond that.
What started all this with me was this. Using Linda File Manager, I uninstalled a couple of apps (was trying out the feature since I was in there). In this case, it was Google Earth (don't really use it), and a Pirate game that I never grocked. Anyway, in the Market they wouldn't leave my list in the Downloads, so I wiped the cache and data in the Market app in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications.
After that, all my apps appeared as uninstalled in the downloads window, and the issue with installation started. First thing I did was try and reinstall all the apps, and ended up with a huge list of apps that were installed, but were marked as still installing by the market. Killing the market app cleared out the hung install progress bars. The other thing that started happening was that not all of my installed apps appeared in my download list. KO Boxing, for example was on the featured list as upgradable, but it wasn't in my download list to upgrade.
Ultimately, what I decided to do was wipe the phone and see what happened. After wipe, I logged in and FRF91 didn't restore my apps like it had in the past. In fact, the market was exactly the same as it was before the wipe, with all my apps showing as free or purchased. Installing issue was also the same. Now, I know that Google backs up the settings, so I thought maybe that had something to do with it. I wiped again, but in the configuration process post-wipe, I selected for Google to not restore from backup (hit menu in the setup when you are entering your username/password). This brought me through the process much quicker, but with no change in the market function.
So, I'm still without a "Top Paid" tab, nor with a all together sane Download window. It's frustrating the heck out of me, and I'm about to go back to whatever the 2.1-r1 release was (ERE27?) and see if that makes any different.
The ROM I'm running is the FRF91 full release from lox_dev:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715799
If T-Mobile is doing the OTA's to FroYo from 2.1-r1, then maybe I'll let it do it's own thing today and then see if that fixes it. Ugh.

The above snipped sections are my story too.
Updated last week manually from ERE27 to FRF85b to FRF91 using the official stock clients each time. Non rooted N1. I spent 6 hours on Friday night trying to sort this..
I've got posts up on the Google Nexus One forums also and am holding where I am for a definitive fix. It's very frustrating though..
Go to menu>applications> magage applications> all apps> market then force quit and clear data and whatever else is in there.

I tried that on Friday night. Once I'd done that, none of my installed apps showed in the Downloads section.
That's why I did a full wipe and set the phone back up. Luckily I was still able to find all my apps, including the purchased ones. However the missing 'Top Paid' button and slow market performance persisted.
So, for fun, I pushed back to ERE27 (2.1-r1) and same issue. No "Top Paid" in the Market, and issues with installation. This is complete wipe, nothing installed on the phone after imaging.
I let it upgrade to FRF91, which didn't change anything. I'm now pretty convinced that whatever this is is completely account related on the Google server side of things, and it needs to be sorted out by them
Guess I'll have to figure out who to contact for support from Google :/

I'm working the Google angle also plus have posts on several forums and watches on more.
Please can you keep this thread updated with your progress and I'll do the same.

I've made contact with Google via email and this is now being investigated.
I'm sending them a summary of the problems I've been having and pointing them at various threads both here and in the Market so that they can see how widespread this problem is.
I've also tried a full hard reset and cache wipe without luck. My belief is that this is something that Google need to sort server-side, so I'm done with my wiping and reinstalling for now...

Looks like this has now been fixed server-side.
I got my 'Top Paid' tab back this morning - Yay!
Tried searching..
My rooted NC has been working perfectly. I have downloaded lots of apps. Now when I am on the market everything seems fine but files will not download. It just sits there on "starting download". The only thing I can think of is I used Titanium backup to "wipe data" on the market app...I am a noob, was that dumb?? I thought that might clear my market search history that keeps adding up. Any thoughts?
mine does that once in a while. i just reboot the nook and it starts again
I have re-booted a few times...no luck.
I had that symptom after I deleted Google Talk. I just re-auto-nootered & all was fixed. Nothing was disturbed. I never heard any feedback on whether or not that was a viable restore method, but it worked for me by restoring the missing files. If I were you, though, I would wait for someone else to chime in & give some guidance.
Cheers,
kev
now that I think about it my Gmail has not been working either. I am not getting notifications of new mail. When I launch Gmail and hit refresh it will get my mail, but not automatically like it used to....must some google account issue????
make sure you log into Google talk which should fix the issue.
My experience also supports the need to be signed into Google Talk in order to download from the Market.

I may have logged into google talk when I first rooted...but I have not touched that app since. I tried to launch it and it kicks me back to my home screen right away. Tried a reboot..same thing.
re-rooted, problem solved.
I rooted my Nook Last night, everything seemed to work fine as well. now( about an hour ago) the Marketplace stopped downloading.
Is re-rooting the only answer?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
I know that this has been covered but this is slightly different. My YouTube stopped.working last night, I assume for the same reason as many. I tried to uninstall and reinstall with no success. Now I have deleted all of the YouTubes from my NC, how do I reinstall it and which directory? This is where I am lost. I just want my YouTube back

I had a similar issue. I just ran the attached .apk via ES File Explorer and I was back in business.
I had that issue during the week too. I went to NC portal and grabbed the signed youtube apk for the nookie froyo and that worked for me.
I will try this again. So what directly do I put the .apk in? system/app?
Last time I tried to run that it gave me a parsing error. Perhaps the file was corrupt.
I will give the above a go and report back.
It will not install. It acts like it is going to install, and then simply states on the screen "Application not installed" and a "Done" button.
How can I wipe out YouTube completely from the machine? I think it is conflicting with the install.
Its happened to me several titmes. Seems to be related to installing apks that play media files. Or maybe im just stupid and should quit messing with my device. Shrug.
Here's a method that has never let me down.
1. Backup youtube.apk using titanium backup. (Doesn't matter if youtube currently doesn't work.)
2. Reinstall ONLY the .apk from backup. Do not restore data!
Voila, now youtube works again.
You can just restore next time it acts fonky.

I have no idea what "signed" YouTube app is, I use 'HQ YouTube' app as per discovery by one Roy Aguilera for EVO (see my blog fineoils.blogspot.com, down below, as it was posted on January 3). Later on, that discovery was observed working on Droids, so I tried it on my NookColor. Works fine for every YouTube HD 1080p movie/clip you can find there. Didn't work for my Pandigital Novel though (lol), as obviously its hardware overlay remains completely broken -- even on its CM6 beta.
HQ YouTube is reported as stopped working in Froyo though. I suspect "Stagefright" is the culprit, so anyone may try to play with it as I propose in my blog. This tweaking might even help to validate Nookie Froyo for Flash 10.1 -- who knows? I didn't try NF yet, and hopefully never will, as I consider A2.2 a mere bugfix job for A2.1 leaving too many bugs untouched for TI OMAP36xx (quite old) platform and adding "features" (like "Stagefright") to be fixed at A2.3.x level.
You could look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10648931&postcount=8 - worked for me.
I installed it just fine, I used TitaniumBackup to uninstall and then used the aforementioned apk to reinstall and it works fine. Now, I leave the application, and go back in ... same issue.
What is causing this break so that I dont have to do these steps every time I want to use YouTube?
Worked like a charm, thanks!
YouTube
the thing that works for me is to delete
/data/data/com.google.android.youtube/shared_prefs/youtube.xml
I use root explorer to delete file.
next time you restart youtube you just have to accept the eula.
I have a gtablet with CM7 on it. Everything works beautifully except Amazon mp3. It doesn't even open. Actually, when it installs, it doesn't show up in the app drawer, but I can add the widget to the home screen.
When I add the widget, and I press it, the screen turns white, like it's about to do something, and then nothing.
I was just wondering if anyone had any similar problems. The app worked fine when I was using TnT 4, but it doesn't work with CM7. I don't know exactly what the issue is or what channels I should go through to see about getting it fixed.
Check to make sure your keyboard/language is set to United States (English). I had that issue with Vegan Ginger, and part of the issue was that it was set to something else.
However, I had it return later, and it was more like you were describing - unable to add the app at all (except for the widget). I used TI to do a backup and did a factory reset and reinstalled Vegan Ginger. I haven't had the issue since I switched to CM7, but I think that might be the way to go. Backup, do a factory reset via Clockwork, reinstall CM7 (newest nightly, 7.0.3 has with the new Google Music player), let Google automatically restore your apps (as many of them as it can). Amazon MP3 should be done that way; if not, manually install it. See if it works. If it does, go ahead and restore data to the apps that you want to via Titanium.
I had the same problem before while running the 2.0.3 version of the app, I found the 2.0.2 version and it's working just fine. I see that there is an update to 2.0.4 but I haven't updated it as I don't want the errors again.
I changed my keyboard to english (United States) and it totally worked. Thank you very much. Such a helpful place, xda
Hey everyone,
I decided to make the jump from albinoman's CM10.2 to CM11 on my Raider (Rogers variant) a few days ago and for the most part I'm very impressed on how it runs. Big props go out to albinoman for all of his hard work on this device
One problem that I noticed though is that some apps won't install from the Play Store and I get hit with an error line stating "Couldn't install on USB Storage or SD card". I hadn't seen this error before and the apps worked with no issues back on 10.2
I read in a different thread for the GS2 that one way to fix this is to install SELinuxModeChanger which would change the permission back to "Permissive" (the 4.3 standard) instead of "Enforcing" (the 4.4 standard). I tried this, but it didn't work. Maybe it's just for Samsung devices, but for what's it worth, that doesn't make a difference here.
I'm running the 01062014 build with the Full Modular GApps package (if that makes a difference) and I'm S-ON. Apart from this issue, I've also found that the default camera app FC every time (focal works about 50%, photos with rear camera works, creates videos but can't play them, etc.) and MMS doesn't get sent/received (but those are stories for another time and yes, I flash the boot.img from every new build EVERY TIME).
I have ample room on my SD card and on my internal storage to install them (details are in the screenshots), but it's still a mystery as to why they don't install...
It's not a big deal that these apps don't install, they're nothing important, just some games that I can play on other devices, but I was just wondering if people were aware of this issue and if so, how long a fix could potentially take.
Thanks in advance!
Hey dude, I've had the same issues with CM 11, most notably the xda developers app would not install. I'm installing the 1-12-2014 build (came out today), which is supposed to fix both this issue and the camera issue. My phone is currently getting all of its apps reinstalled, so in a couple of minutes I'll give it a shot and see if it did the trick. Fingers crossed that this fixes my netflix issue too!

Sweet! The new CM 11 build fixed the issue! Sorry for the new post instead of an edit, I don't know how to edit on the app.

That's great news!
BTW, did you restore anything when you installed the Jan 12th build? For instance, did you make a backup of the data partition in TWRP (or whichever recovery you use) and then restore that after you installed the 2014/01/12 build, or did you just go clean and install everything new?
Hope to hear back soon!
I just made a backup of my installed APps using "app backup and restore" and backed up my apex launcher settings and desktop data. Then I did a clean install ( wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache), and restored my alpha and speed settings. Just manually inputted everything else
My Netflix issue was not resolved, but that's just because apparently kitkat doesn't play nice with Netflix. We just need to wait for an app update.
Edit: sorry for the excessive thanks, i'm still getting used to the xda app.

So I tried the Jan. 12th build and it's pretty nice. But that isn't to say that I don't have any new issues.
I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong, but Gmail is not being synced up. I checked my sync settings and it notes that the last time it synced was yesterday at 11:08 AM (the last time before I switched from builds). Not only that, but I'm not receiving notifications when I do get emails (probably because my emails aren't syncing...).
Apart from that, the cLock widget doesn't survive after a reboot. Upon the first boot, it was on there and I configured it to my liking. Then whenever I turn off or reboot my phone, the widget disappears from my homescreen and I have to manually replace it. I'm not sure if it makes much difference, but I'm using the launcher3 instead of the default Google Launcher and I've resized my rows/columns to 4/5, respectively. The widget never disappeared on earlier builds (or on 10.2), but it does on this one...
Anyone else have similar issues to what I'm experiencing?
But besides those, the camera works great, so that's one issue solved
Oh, and I should probably mention that if I tell my phone to sync all my Google information, the spinning sync wheel doesn't move at all. I'm not sure if the same result happens when I try to sync Facebook and receive notifications, but that's less of an issue for me.
I placed the clock widget on one of my screens, and it survived after reboot, so in thinking CM11 isn't playing nice with launcher3 ( i'm using apex launcher). I also don't appear to have any issues syncing with gmail, so I don't know what's going on with that. Sorry I can't be of more help

I'm having an issue w/ mounting/formatting the internal sd card on CM11. Anyone know how to fix this? All was working well til the last update of Kitkat and I get an error when I try to format it in recovery.

What's the error you get? And I assume you're using ClockWorkMod recovery (WCX)?

It could very well be the case that the clock widget and launcher3 have some compatibility issues. I haven't tried apex launcher or any other launcher (nova also comes to mind), so I can't say with 100% accuracy that it is the fault of launcher3. It won't hurt to try different launchers though, so I'll do that and give an update when I get a chance.
As for the Gmail sync issue that I have, I read this from albinoman's CM11 thread:

First attempt, just a reboot, didn't work.
Second attempt, turned off all Google Sync services in the System Settings, Reboot, Opened Gmail, Manual Sync, then re-enabled all Google Sync services again -> And everything magically start working again
My call volume seems fine, and everything else seems to be working except MMS as noted before.

I'll give this a shot as well and see if it changes anything. But before I do that, I want to try out the Jan. 17 build that's up now and see if these issues are resolved automatically

Yes, I'm using WCX recovery and the error I get is:

Any help would be appreciated!
So it's been a few days and I've got an update to share.
I was too lazy over the weekend to try out the Jan. 17 build, so I instead tried out the Jan. 20 build when it was released yesterday. But before I did, I made a backup of everything (Apps with TiBu, and NANDroid backup with TWRP) just in case something went haywire.
I wiped everything except my SD Cards in TWRP, and then installed the 01/20/14 build alongside the PA Mini Modular Gapps. I then accessed my bootloader and installed the boot.img 3 times to ensure that it sticks (not required to do, but more like OCD lol ). Once that was done, I powered off for a few minutes, unplugged the micro USB cable and then powered back on.
As it was running through the initial setup, I went through all the usual steps, but after I entered my Google Account info and had that verified, I decided to uncheck the Backup & Restore option, but had everything else checked.
You might be wondering, "Why'd you uncheck that option?". Essentially, I had the thought that there might have been a setting that corresponds to Google Sync Services and Gmail from earlier builds that kept messing up the default options in CM11 builds and thus making it unworkable (hence my earlier issue with Gmail not syncing and sending me notifications).
So after I ran through that and installed all my programs again (from the Play Store, not from TiBu for testing reasons), I opened up Gmail after a reboot and I noticed that the notification push was working! I also sent myself an email from my desktop and checked to see if my phone would notice it, and that worked too!
So to recap, here's what I did:
1) Backed up everything
2) Wiped everything in Recovery except for SD Cards
3) Installed Jan. 20 build and PA Mini Modular Gapps
4) Installed boot.img 3 times via fastboot, powered off
5) Unplugged USB cable, powered on
6) Went through initial setup
7) Unchecked "Backup & Restore" setting during setup
8) Installed all apps from Play Store, powered off
9) Powered on, opened Gmail
10) Noticed that Gmail was working, celebrated
I'm sure all of this could have worked in earlier builds too, but I never thought about unchecking the "Backup & Restore" setting during the initial setup until yesterday. So now all that remains as a WIP is to get MMS working, but that's the least of my worries for now
Jan. 20 Build Update
Huh, well apparently it only decided to work that one time...
Upon that first clean install and boot, it notified me about all new emails that were coming in. The next day however, it decided to just stop. I have to do a manual sync (moving my thumb from the top to the bottom of the screen while using Gmail) to get my new emails to appear, and there's still a chance that it won't fetch new emails
Not only that, but I noticed that there's still a few apps that don't work out completely. An example of this is The Simpsons: Tapped Out. It was working fine in earlier builds (I believe it was the 15th or 17th, can't recall right now), but on the 20th build, it just force closes after the first screen.
Also, some apps disappear from my home screens after a reboot. I don't get why this happens, but it's ultimately not a big deal. But hey, at least cLock survives a reboot when using launcher3
Anyone else have similar problems/issues?
