I have a gtablet with CM7 on it. Everything works beautifully except Amazon mp3. It doesn't even open. Actually, when it installs, it doesn't show up in the app drawer, but I can add the widget to the home screen.
When I add the widget, and I press it, the screen turns white, like it's about to do something, and then nothing.
I was just wondering if anyone had any similar problems. The app worked fine when I was using TnT 4, but it doesn't work with CM7. I don't know exactly what the issue is or what channels I should go through to see about getting it fixed.
Check to make sure your keyboard/language is set to United States (English). I had that issue with Vegan Ginger, and part of the issue was that it was set to something else.
However, I had it return later, and it was more like you were describing - unable to add the app at all (except for the widget). I used TI to do a backup and did a factory reset and reinstalled Vegan Ginger. I haven't had the issue since I switched to CM7, but I think that might be the way to go. Backup, do a factory reset via Clockwork, reinstall CM7 (newest nightly, 7.0.3 has with the new Google Music player), let Google automatically restore your apps (as many of them as it can). Amazon MP3 should be done that way; if not, manually install it. See if it works. If it does, go ahead and restore data to the apps that you want to via Titanium.
I had the same problem before while running the 2.0.3 version of the app, I found the 2.0.2 version and it's working just fine. I see that there is an update to 2.0.4 but I haven't updated it as I don't want the errors again.
I changed my keyboard to english (United States) and it totally worked. Thank you very much. Such a helpful place, xda

My rooted NC has been working perfectly. I have downloaded lots of apps. Now when I am on the market everything seems fine but files will not download. It just sits there on "starting download". The only thing I can think of is I used Titanium backup to "wipe data" on the market app...I am a noob, was that dumb?? I thought that might clear my market search history that keeps adding up. Any thoughts?
mine does that once in a while. i just reboot the nook and it starts again
I have re-booted a few times...no luck.
I had that symptom after I deleted Google Talk. I just re-auto-nootered & all was fixed. Nothing was disturbed. I never heard any feedback on whether or not that was a viable restore method, but it worked for me by restoring the missing files. If I were you, though, I would wait for someone else to chime in & give some guidance.
Cheers,
kev
now that I think about it my Gmail has not been working either. I am not getting notifications of new mail. When I launch Gmail and hit refresh it will get my mail, but not automatically like it used to....must some google account issue????
make sure you log into Google talk which should fix the issue.
My experience also supports the need to be signed into Google Talk in order to download from the Market.

I may have logged into google talk when I first rooted...but I have not touched that app since. I tried to launch it and it kicks me back to my home screen right away. Tried a reboot..same thing.
re-rooted, problem solved.
I rooted my Nook Last night, everything seemed to work fine as well. now( about an hour ago) the Marketplace stopped downloading.
Is re-rooting the only answer?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
I know that this has been covered but this is slightly different. My YouTube stopped.working last night, I assume for the same reason as many. I tried to uninstall and reinstall with no success. Now I have deleted all of the YouTubes from my NC, how do I reinstall it and which directory? This is where I am lost. I just want my YouTube back

I had a similar issue. I just ran the attached .apk via ES File Explorer and I was back in business.
I had that issue during the week too. I went to NC portal and grabbed the signed youtube apk for the nookie froyo and that worked for me.
I will try this again. So what directly do I put the .apk in? system/app?
Last time I tried to run that it gave me a parsing error. Perhaps the file was corrupt.
I will give the above a go and report back.
It will not install. It acts like it is going to install, and then simply states on the screen "Application not installed" and a "Done" button.
How can I wipe out YouTube completely from the machine? I think it is conflicting with the install.
Its happened to me several titmes. Seems to be related to installing apks that play media files. Or maybe im just stupid and should quit messing with my device. Shrug.
Here's a method that has never let me down.
1. Backup youtube.apk using titanium backup. (Doesn't matter if youtube currently doesn't work.)
2. Reinstall ONLY the .apk from backup. Do not restore data!
Voila, now youtube works again.
You can just restore next time it acts fonky.

I have no idea what "signed" YouTube app is, I use 'HQ YouTube' app as per discovery by one Roy Aguilera for EVO (see my blog fineoils.blogspot.com, down below, as it was posted on January 3). Later on, that discovery was observed working on Droids, so I tried it on my NookColor. Works fine for every YouTube HD 1080p movie/clip you can find there. Didn't work for my Pandigital Novel though (lol), as obviously its hardware overlay remains completely broken -- even on its CM6 beta.
HQ YouTube is reported as stopped working in Froyo though. I suspect "Stagefright" is the culprit, so anyone may try to play with it as I propose in my blog. This tweaking might even help to validate Nookie Froyo for Flash 10.1 -- who knows? I didn't try NF yet, and hopefully never will, as I consider A2.2 a mere bugfix job for A2.1 leaving too many bugs untouched for TI OMAP36xx (quite old) platform and adding "features" (like "Stagefright") to be fixed at A2.3.x level.
You could look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10648931&postcount=8 - worked for me.
I installed it just fine, I used TitaniumBackup to uninstall and then used the aforementioned apk to reinstall and it works fine. Now, I leave the application, and go back in ... same issue.
What is causing this break so that I dont have to do these steps every time I want to use YouTube?
Worked like a charm, thanks!
YouTube
the thing that works for me is to delete
/data/data/com.google.android.youtube/shared_prefs/youtube.xml
I use root explorer to delete file.
next time you restart youtube you just have to accept the eula.
icant open pandora which i downloaded via web because its not available in my market een though i did the market fix over and over again. does the build.prop affect this???
and one other thing does samurai 2 work on gtab????

You may want to try re-installing pandora to fix it. If its not showing up in market I think you can go to www.pandora.com with your tablets browser and download it there. Not sure about that, but I think thats how I got it and it works great.
I' m now having a problem with Pandora as well. It goes to the splash screen and hangs. I'm running a recent Pershoot kernel and a recent CM7 nightly. I performed the build.prop fix to get Netflix working (it does). I cannot listen to my stations thru Dolphin either. I log in and it lists them, but won't play anything.
-------------------------
Update: I was just going to post the above description and I went into Netflix to verify it still worked. It errored with the message "Set correct date and time, then restart" (are something along those lines).
For some reason, in settings, my date showed as sometime in 2008. I don't know why this was - if CM7 defaults to that or something else whacked it. Anyhow, I adjusted the date and Netflix and Pandora both work fine again.
Use titanium backup or just application management (within settings) to wipe data and cache for the Pandora app. I had the same thing happen to me before.
This happened on my wife's Droid X phone a few times in the last week or so. Each time I found there was a newer version of Pandora available in the Market. Once I upgraded it on her phone it came up fine and played fine.
Hi all, this is my first post here. I have just root my 1.2 NC, but the google map won't show my location and asked me to activate "my location", does it mean that my location is not working with rooted NC? Because I just can't find the my location settings.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.
Thank in advanced.
Mine has finally started to working....
I had started out getting the NC in December and it was still 1.0. I updated it to the 1.01 when it came out. Then I performed the Autonooter for my first rooting experience. I really loved it.
When 1.2 came out I did the reseting to the factory settings which seemed to work to get the NC back to the 1.01. I performed the manual update from B&N and it was appeared to be successful. I did not realize it did not upgrade correctly and the rooting was very flaky at best (i.e. calendar issues, market would exit for no reason, etc.). I was really not pleased with the outcome.
I finally performed the following:
1) Manually got the NC back all the way to 1.0. Got it all registered and working correctly. I had to load the files since the CW would not allow me to do the 8 reboot to reset.
2) Manually added the update to get the NC up to 1.01. Made sure that it was still working.
3) Performed the 1.2 B&N update manually. Here is where I really noticed the big difference. The look and feel were really different compare to the after autonooter/reset.
4) Performed the manual root process using the updated version.
At this point I am extremely happy with the results so far. I was able to get into the Market several times without it exiting once or creating install errors. Things are working more like what I experienced with the auto process.
By the way the #1 and #2 I found a post that had the files and instructions to uninstall CW and get the NC back to original factory settings.
Can you use News and Weather and Google Maps? Mine still forcecloses on News and Weather and Maps still asks for my location.
Location is currently not working. The latest update to .25 does allow the calendar to sync though. It also might slow your FC with the market.

Thanks for the reply. Started to think I might have to do a complete wipe and start from scratch to get it to work.
Any update on this? I would really like to figure out how to get location services working with rooted 1.2.

I was wondering the same thing. My NC works great on everything else --Thanks to all the Dev's for this--- just have the News&Weather and Google Maps icons sitting there hoping they'll magically start working!!
Besides News&Weather many other apps(IMDB in particular) doesn't work because of this. Lame, because it was working fine on autonootered 1.1.
I'm still trying to figure out which fault is this-1.2 update or manual nooter? If later, maybe they should still call MN "beta"?
double post
I just installed CM 7.0.0 using ROM manager on a nook color that was previously running manualnooter. When I rebooted i got the initial Nook phrase, then the screen went almost black. At first, I thought it was locked up. However, I came back to the NC a few minutes later and pressed the N button and low and behold everything was there.
I rebooted a second time to see if it did it again. It did. Notification is telling me the start up time was 44 sec though it seemed like longer.
Can anyone tell me how to get the animation back and maybe what happened to it? Thanks
I can confirm this issue with a friends device.
She bought her nook color with firmware 1.1 pre installed and 1.2 was just released, so I did a manual update and tested it. Then put my sd with rom manager and flashed a cm7 nightly (cant remember which) + gapps + 1.3 OC kernel.
Its exactly the same issue and I want to add that it gives the sensation it is doing nothing, so you may press random buttons and suddenly you are able to unlock the device after some time.
When I get the chance I will install a newer version, or maybe this awesome cm7 build for kernel .32 I'm using on my device, and report to you guys.
Any ideas?

Same Issue
I have the same issue, except I previously used autorooter instead of manual rooting. Any suggestions?
I've had issues with the boot animation not working before as well - it all seems to depend on the exact combination of ROM, kernel and (maybe not) google apps. With the latest CM7 nightly for Nook Color, the Dalingrin OC emmc kernel from 5/23 and the google apps from 03/07, the boot animation works fine.
The previous combination that I used - CM7 7.0.3 stable, older OC kernel and same Google apps didn't give me the boot animation...
Besides all of the that, the combination I listed above seems to give the best overall experience as well (at least so far). Everything works perfectly without any lag anywhere! Try it out...
Well, I went ahead and istalled CM7 7.0.2 stable and got the animation back. Now my problem is the little apps icon that appears at the bottom of the home screen is missing. The only way I can get to my apps is to open Marketplace and go to MY apps. They are there and seem to work. Can someone help me get the Apps icon back? Thanks
I figured I might fix this by installing a different launcher, so I installed Zeam Launcher. It seems to work oK. However, the original ADW launcher is still missing the My Apps icon in the lower box.
I tought perhaps if I reinstalled ADW, it work repair the problem. I did that and now I have two entries for ADW when I press the N key. One works fine but the other still has the missing icon.
I then decided that maybe I could uninstall the one giving me a problem. When I went to Android Assistant to uninstall ADW, I only saw one entry.
So, my question now is how to get rid of the extra ADW install. Thanks
Or how to get the my apps icon back in the main Dock at the bottom
