I have tried A large number of 850 mhz capable modems to work on New Zealand's Telecom network and believe that the JL2 has the best performance. However, I am having to flash this with Odin while using JVB Rom.
Does anybody have access to CWM3 flashable version?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I'll second that. Forgot who, but someone tried to make me one in another thread but it didn't work.
I'd like to have a CWM3 KC1, JL2 and JVK to try out in different areas I travel to.
The KC1 modem in a CWM3 format is available at Perka's File Stash. However, not the JL2 modem.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Perka's file stash does have the JL2 modem in cwm zip form and the KC1: use the app and then under Samsung keep scrolling down, past the first screen and you ge to a seperate listing under "Modem_850_enabled" which has the files listed in that folder.
Perka.s stash is online and also available in the app store.

take the empty zip file and modify it as you want ... as easy as drag and drop in winrar/zip

That's a bit vague for me. Can you elaborate as to what empty zip and what files need to be in it.
I did find this site which claims that the modems are CWM3. I haven't tried flashing them yet.
http://www.grupoandroid.com/topic/1...ex.php?app=core&module=global&action=register
I meant on perka's stash ... there is an "empty zip file" you can use to make your own CW3 flassshable zip.
He has a KC1 modem file (CW3) if you want (it's newer better) but if youcan;t want PM me and i'll make you one !

Thank you!
Did you find a tar file in the zip? Use that

Its the file allready ready for Odin?? just put the file in PDA section and flash. Ihave seen many files that is just .zip files and u dont exract the .zip file because its ready for ODIN for flash
if you take a look at this official thread and the roms all of them I downloaded are just .zip file and ready to flash....please correct if im wrong.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913
The extracted files from zip u can use to flash in a iMac/macbook and heimdall app.
Does anyone know how to create a .zip file that can be flashed through cwm? say for instance a .zip file that contains the cwm recovery? Any help would be great, and thanks to all in advance who reply

I want to know this too. When I take a zip file that flashes correctly and put a different file in the zip folder, like a modem for example, the new zip file won't flash.
modems are tricky in the Galaxy S line, there's been some work i've seen about flashable modems, but almost everything i've read says they always fail to flash. There are tons of tuts about creating CWM flashable .zip on XDA, just do a quick search.
Same here. I would like to create a cwm zip files that contains all my user apps. TB is good in batch mode but would be so much quicker if I could create a zip and do it after flashing rom.
Have to know how to create scripts to do this. The script takes care of where the file you want to install goes in the system. Then there is the META-INF folder.
Too complicated for me. Let us ask Noxxious.

looking for some 1 clicks for kk4. need both with and without bootloaders. that or a guide to making them and a copy of the stock kk4 with bootloaders. thanks in advance.
^ In the i897ucKF1 leaked Firmware .rar download, there is an Odin DL Creator that u can use to make One Click Downloaders. There are Manuals included in there as well, but unfortunately they got corrupted somewhere along the way and I could never find a way to open and read them. But the process to build the One Click was still easy enough to figure out.
Run the DLCreator v1.8 then choose the Downloader tab and then navigate to where this Creator file is and select the Odin3Execution v1.81 and then simply proceed down the tabs loading the files, select the Options u want (re-partition, auto reboot) and then select the File Name, then Downloader Title. After that is done select the Make Downloader tab.
Now I did encounter freezes/force closes (if u will) with the Creator, but I would just simply have to start over and then it would work. The i897ucKF1 firmware, u can get from here... http://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=306 (u will probably have to register and log in)
And as an alternative there is the Heimdall One-Click - ROM Packaging and Distribution System. See the link here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19386742&postcount=1

thanks a ton. i remember seeing a guide somewhere on converting cwm zips to odin tars. i knew i kept my noobuntu install for something lol.
found the odin creator and a stock kk4 md5 ball. time to do some research on the proper way to remove the bootloaders.
EDIT: sorry for double post. please merge if possible.
Use an Archiver (IZArc, 7zip, etc.) and extract the .tar out of the .rar that u downloaded. Then click on the name of the .tar.md5 to rename it and simply delete the .md5 from the name. Select yes to make the change. Open the .tar and then u will see the files. Bootloaders are of course the boot.bin and sbl.bin files (they r in the main.tar file. Think it was named Code something blah blah). Drag them to desktop to keep in a seperate file and then just delete them out of the .tar file. The param.lfs of course contains the initial bootslash jpeg image. And etc., etc.
Also, just fyi, this was a full wipe leaked firmware. --> (Edit: the KF1 was a full wipe, all others since have only wiped /cache after the install. And the other leaks since KF1 have only been in single .tar file, where as the kf1 was in 3 different .tar files)

I have a Samsung Galaxy i987 AT&T GSM US Tablet. I have had CM9 on it working the phone and GPS previously. I now loaded the latest CM10 and have not either found the right modem or have other issues. I loaded the 0923 yesterday and it was said that you could pull the modem from Wiki CM and use CM to load it. I tried both of the modems in the links below one for AT&T and one that says Galaxy i987. Both show that it was successful, but in both attempts the modem.bin file did not show up under the /system/vendor folder. I used Root Explorer to finally move the modem.bin file from both of these download into the /system/vendor folder, and while the modem.bin file did show up, it still has unknown modem baseband and no modem or GPS working.

That is because the latest cm10 move modem.bin back to /radio/modem.bin like cm9 again.

Wow, thanks for the response. I read the thread every night on the CM10 Development, or is that the wrong one. I saw where dev posted you could get your modem.bin from the wiki and use Clockworks Mod to update again. Also, they were going back on the partition to CM9 like to allow 2gb and that there would be a wipe. Nothing said go to that directory /radio/modem.bin, unless by saying that you could go back to wiki like CM9 meant that directory. I thought I could use Clockworks and do a zip file firmware update. I admit that I am a bit new to all of this, but I have been modding something or other back to the Nintendo PS1 and original Xbox days, I guess I still need to get my sea legs here and will take a thrashing once in a while until I do. I do appreciate the help.
BTW, I got my GPS back, but not my phone. I will go back and search some more, but I got the modem.bin file from
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_(GSM):_Support_Downloads
AT&T
UCKJ1
Using Root Explorer I put the modem.bin in the /radio directory. The GPS is working great, but no cell registration. I guess I should say, I get data, but when it goes to dial it beeps and ends the call immediately.
Yes, haha, CM9 was on /radio/modem.bin
then CM10 too, then CM10 move to new MTD partition, and modem.bin goes to /system/vendor/,
then CM10 move back again to another partition (not sure if it is back to same old partition or a new old partition )
but modem is back to /radio/modem.bin
once it is back to /radio, the one in Wiki will work, regardless of the way it is partitioned. You just need to read inside the zip, the updater script put the modem there.
It is a simple matter of modifying the path within the script for any layout.
Having said that, the older modems in modems thread in dev sticky, they are for pre-MTD time. During original Samsung BML partition, the modem is on a partition of its own, so a more complex method is required to put the modem there, including using CWM (zip) and Odin (tar)
But nowadays is just using Root Explorer and you are ok.
That is why I said you should read the whole thread, you will know such changes happening.
There is a CM10 thread and dev and one in General for discussion.
Ask questions in General if necessary, never on Dev one unless you have issue compiling, or have some other dev bug.
If you are interested on CWM updater script, just unpack the rom zip or the modem zip or any of the CWM flashable zip and have a look at the updater-script within the META-INF.
Edit: regarding AT&T tablet no call, I think it is network related. AT&T know you are on tablet and don't allow making calls. That is my theory.
gps and phone fail, baseband unknown
I have the same problem on baseband, where can I get the files and please get me some good link and info.
thanks.
btw is there a way to save the restore data in recovery mode, just in case if I lost it, I have no way to go back to cm9.

It is the first sticky tread in Dev section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069727
get the JPZ modem.
It says Gingerbread but does not matter.
Unzip it to find a modem.bin
Use it with root explorer or ES File Explorer in root mode, system mounted as read-write.
Put in /radio/modem.bin (there may be one already there but likely broken)
Many users wanted to flash their own CSC on custom ROM. Here is small guide how to get original CSC from base and add to custom ROM.
1.Download your desired ROM from SamMobile (OR use if you have any base already with you from same region)
2.Extract zip to get tar.md5 - again extract it to get cache.img.
3.Get Img Extractor from here Extract exe file on a new folder. copy extracted Cache.img in this folder as well.
4.Drag and drop cache.img you have extracted from base on ImgExtractor.exe
5.You will see newly created folder cache.img_ along with exe
6.Open cache.img_ - recovery - sec_csc folder, you will see system folder. - Drag and drop that system folder on you desktop.
7.Now download csc_changer_new.zip template from here and drag and drop system folder on root of zip. (so after this when you open zip you should see three folders data, META-INF and system)
8.Flash that zip immediately after flashing ROM.
Update : Updated script so it will auto backup all ROM CSC features and auto restore after changing CSC

Okey dokey, I think I'll settle this once and for all.
@catseyenu was using the wrong download link. As you can see from going to the download page there are 2 download buttons, the first which says "Download" is a fake download link and will redirect you to another site and try to get you to download some sort of software in .exe form.
The correct link is the one that says "Download Now" which I have verified this and was able to download it without any problems.
With Dev-Host it is a case of knowing which download link to press. On a side note, our (XDA's) partnership with Dev-Host has ended due to them not wanting to control the ads that they have and often redirecting users to other sites and trying to get them to download possibly malicious software. Due to this I would encourage the OP to use other file hosts such as AndroidFileHost for example.
Thank you Jonny for clarifying the status of the malicious host.

Actually for small Download I also prefer mega which is now a days offers highest Download speed and most users prefer it. Initially I have posted link was mega. But I need to update it and particularly this file targeted for Indian users, and many provider in India have blocked mega so this time I made dev host upload.
For rom I prefer dev /pCloud and Media fire bcoz all three gives Web upload (remote uoload) option so I can provide three mirrors by uploading at one place.
Again thank you very much for being with us always.

Sir, this method can be used for completely stock rom?
German CSC for N910F
Hey Guys,
if anybody is looking for the german csc you can download it from here: http://workupload.com/file/Km2FjCof
I made it according to dr. ketans explanation. Just one thing when I go into phone info / CSC-Code it states:
Original CSC.-Code: INU
Firmware CSC-Code: DBT
Active CSC Code: INU/ DBT
Available CSC.-Codes: BTU, CPW, DBT, ITV, KOR, XEF, XEO
CSC Country: Germany/DE
Do I need to use the csc changer apk and therefore wipe everything? Or am I good even though active CSC is Indian and German??
I am on Nameless Rom 4.2 and the reason for me doing this was because of the message I receive on every boot up stating: Texting just got better.... Where you need to give your mobile number (you can also just click 2 times on no but thats not an option for me) But even after I flashed my CSC zip it still shows up.
@dr. Ketan do you have a solution or did i do something wrong? I did it step by step. Hope to receive an answer.
Probably that is issue of rom and not csc.
Indian csc causing send a text message to Indian number that should be fixed (on latest nameless I think prefixed) by changing csc
Sent from my SM-N920I using xda premium
I solved with the csc changer app, i switched to dbt and had to wipe everything. Restored my apps and date with titanium backup, now i am running with german csc on nameless rom 4.2
And the texting got better pop up disappeared
CSC Note 5
I tried this on my new note 5. I flashed a TMOBILE rom and that totally screws with csc and features. This does work in the sense that it brings back my multi csc for my Canadian note. However where I get the problems is similar to the gentleman above. It only partially applies the csc that I need. When I flash the zip. It attributes a generic out of the US csc XAC. When i try something like Phone info Samsung to change it to RWC. It only changes where its says active csc and it still shows XAC as also active. ANd firmware csc and original csc still show as XAC. Why when i flash the stock rom does it default to RWC eventhough the csc files are the same, but with a custom rom XAC?
