I've had my HTC HD7 for a few months now (since 12/25/2012) and I have had a few problems like a faulty SD. Though now I am experiencing a very peculiar problem. The phone is technically frozen, it doesn't receive texts calls or updates yet it still responds as in going to search and use apps.Does anybody know what I am talking about or experienced this problem. If you have any solutions please post them below. Keep in mind that I have attempted hard and normal resets alike which have done nothing but erase parts of my information.
Blow the stupid official rom and install dynamics or deepshinig, since both roms support wp backup(information backup, not a zune backup), you won't suffering the information loss, a faulty sd? are you sure the replacement is a sandisk class2, that's the official sd for this phone, other brand an models work but you talk about the HD7 being fixed before.
This happens when you have the sim working or the phone fails even without the sim?
Hello all i have a htc one 32gb running on at&t recently updated to 4.3 and now have lost wifi.It continually says turning on or error and i am flying through my data with no wifi called at&t and i had already done everything they told me to do but did it again anyway, which is force closed anything wifi, factory reset and all that crap. Anyway bottom line is i can't get a new phone under warranty because my phone is dented, and don't wanna pay 200 for a new one. So only thing i have heard which is a possiblility to my problem is a custom rom which is fine with me i have done this before... But only problem is my volume buttons are also broke. so i need a way to access hboot with no volume buttons.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
THANK YOU!
My Sprint HTC One will not be recognized by any PC. It is unlocked. I have tried it S-On and S-Off. I have tried multiple cords, on multiple USB ports, on multiple ROMs, on multiple PCs Win 8, and Win 7. I've installed universal drivers and the uninstalled HTC Sync. I took it to the Sprint Store and the tech thought he fixed it by putting the phone in USB debugging mode. That didn't work. HTC said to reset the battery stats by powering down for ten minutes, then hold vol up, vol down, and power for two minutes. No luck...
I am able to to use Dropbox to load ROMs and backup files.
I reached out to HTC again to troubleshoot. My question is, will i encounter problems if i send the phone unlocked and on a custom ROM to repair a USB port? The warranty language mentioned service fees and handling fees. I don't wish to encounter these. lol. I would love to send it back with factory setting, but cannot without a working USB port and a PC. Right? Any suggestions?
I know am not supposed to return a return an unlocked phone to HTC. I just need help returning it to stock without a PC. Thanks in advance.

you'll probably have to pay for the repair. Will probably cost somewhere between 200-300$
Returned and back to normal

Okay,
So i was able to restore my phone from my first stock back up. This was my saving grace. I transferred it via Dropbox. I then, used the Terminal app and Revone to relock bootloader and make the phone look as close to stock as possible. Then only things I was't able to return was S-Off back to S-On and the red developer warning on bootscreen. After returning to mostly stock i sent the phone to HTC by Fed Ex ($25) and received my phone back fixed and returned to full stock and an new Sim card. Victory! It only took a week and a half. I ended up getting the M8 anyway, but I'm happy to know that HTC was able to help me out.
Hey guys I upgraded from my M7 yesterday to my HK edition today. I have a few questions hopefully y'all can answer for me.
It seems to me that I am having the same issues other people are having. At my sprint store (I am a sales rep) I had 4G LTE all day yesterday no issues. I get home and BAM can't connect to 3G/4G at all. No phone calls. No texts. One sales rep seen a 26% block rate on service trender and seen that my most frequently used tower at home is not connected to my phone. I figured it might be because I just upgraded to a tri-band device. My M7 had full bars 4G all the time when I was home. The other sprint rep said I could have a defective device. My friend who lives 3 houses down has a regular M8 and I am waiting for him to get here to see if he has similar issues..but his phone might connect to other towers. I went to my nearest sprint store after customer service spent 30 minutes trying to manually program the phone. The phone refused to activate over the air I literally had to drive down about ten minutes to my local sprint store so it would connect to 3G to re-activate.
1.Is there anyway besides the HTC backup tool to backup the phone? It took me about an hour and a half yesterday to use the tool to restore all my pics as well as manually re-download all the apps.
2.How hard is it to root the special HK edition? Is it worth the trouble rooting then performing a nandroid? Because I might have to send the device back to sprint I will have to send it back completely stock, and for all I know my data issues might persist through a nandroid backup.
3.Has anyone found a solution to receive texts through Wi-Fi? I know sprint launched the Wi-Fi calling but unfortunately the M8 doesn't support it yet. Thanks everyone.
You should keep your bulky data (Pictures, Music etc.) on the External SD Card.
Then just pop it out and into the next phone.
There is many levels and ways to back it up.
I use Exchange (my work) for Contacts, Email and Calendar. I set my wife up on Exchange through Hotmail (lot nicer than google in my opinion).
Let Google Restore all the Apps and some settings (WIFI, Theme etc.).
I also root and Backup through Recovery. But if I want to start from scratch it doesn't take too long.
I use Dropbox for Photos.
I've never used HTC Backup.

He was coming from M7, so SD card wasn't an option.
Titanium Backup can backup to Google Drive, but that may only be the paid version (totally worth it).
Sent from my 831C using XDA Free mobile app
I ended up having to order a replacement. I'm back on my M7 for now until the replacement arrives. I think i might root and to titanium and then flash back to stock.
Hello,
I have been using htc m8 since quite a while but since TODAY it has stopped recognising my Vodafone - India/New Delhi sim card and it seems like locked phone itself.
Please tell me what can be done to make it running back again, I am attaching the screenshots which tells its version etc.
Thanks
