I've had my HTC HD7 for a few months now (since 12/25/2012) and I have had a few problems like a faulty SD. Though now I am experiencing a very peculiar problem. The phone is technically frozen, it doesn't receive texts calls or updates yet it still responds as in going to search and use apps.Does anybody know what I am talking about or experienced this problem. If you have any solutions please post them below. Keep in mind that I have attempted hard and normal resets alike which have done nothing but erase parts of my information.
Blow the stupid official rom and install dynamics or deepshinig, since both roms support wp backup(information backup, not a zune backup), you won't suffering the information loss, a faulty sd? are you sure the replacement is a sandisk class2, that's the official sd for this phone, other brand an models work but you talk about the HD7 being fixed before.
This happens when you have the sim working or the phone fails even without the sim?

Ok here is my problem!
I have purchased a used Tytn II and it has some problems!
I sent it in for repair (still under warranty) 3 times and they told me they have fixed the problems, but the problems are still there!
I finally asked for a replacement device and they told me that they never replace phones, no matter what the problem is!
Here are the problems I have with my phone:
It loses connection ever so often, it turns off and on (restarts) and it sometimes tells me that there is no sim card, even tough the sim card is present and functioning!
My question is, how can I convince them to give me a new phone?
Becouse it is apparent that they are unable to fix the problem!
The warranty is going to expire soon!
Please I would be glad if someone could give me some suggestions!
Any suggestions at all!
Well you can try going up the chain, or filing a report with a company like the Better Business Bureau.
You can also try and see if there is a Rom update or one of the cooked roms that you can install here that might fix the problem... or even another radio.
Sometimes, and more often then not, those problems are caused by software then hardware.
If you do decide to try another radio or rom, make sure you read through the Wiki first. IF you do this and dont read through the instructions first, you can ruin your phone.
I don't know who your carrier is, but there is a one year warranty with at$t. Unless it is carelessness. i.e. LIberal application of oil.
but like the previous poster stated, more than likely it is software. Please provide a little more information. What rom, radio and apps do you have installed?
OK guys, here’s the deal… I have a big problem with my MDA Compact IV (T-mobile’s version of the HTC Diamond). As it is a simlock free device, I’m using my Vodafone sim card. I hope one of you experts can help! I’ve been through just about the entire internet and this forum and found that there are more people with the same problem, but I haven’t found a working solution yet.
What happened:
- I got my MDA, didn’t like the T-mobile branding so before even using the phone with the original software, I’ve upgraded to SPL-1.40.OliNex, Radio 1.00.25.05 and the original HTC Touch Diamond 1.93.404.1 Dutch Stock ROM.
- I also installed a few programs like Klaxon, Tomtom 7 and S2U2.
- After a few hours of playing with my device I noticed that there were some problems with the sound. When I receive a call there is no sound, when I answer the call the caller can’t hear me and I can’t hear him. Same problem when I make a call myself. None of the systems sounds work. This can only be solved after soft reset.
- These sound problems occur completely random. Sometimes it works for hours and sometimes just minutes after the reset.
What I’ve done to try to solve the problem:
- I de-installed all the programs, but did not fix the problem.
- I went over all the sound settings, but did not find anything wrong.
- I did a hard reset, but this didn’t solve anything.
- I returned to the original t-mobile stock ROM. This also wasn’t the solution.
I’m getting quite desperate here. I love the phone, it’s looks and possibilities, but it’s a real problem if you can’t even use it to make and receive calls. I still see that as a basic function when you buy a phone
EDIT: OK guys, finally after nine weeks of waiting, calling and emailing the repair center, I got my device back and what do you think....? Problem fixed! It turned out to be a hardware problem. I don't know exactly what they did, but my phone works just fine now. I reflashed to the AZTOR NLD ROM and now I'm the proud owner of a working phone! Big thanks for all of your support!
Reinstall the stock SPL and stock ROM and take it back under warranty - sounds like a hardware issue to me. I haven't read about anyone else with this problem and since you seem to have already tried most software related fixes I'd start looking at the hardware. Just wait until you lose sound one day and then take it back so they can see the problem first hand! I can't see anyone arguing with that.
I had the some problem, only once, and it was because of installing some cabs (I don't remember which ones, though). The speaker didn't work at all.
I suggest that you put a new lite firmware (Swift works great to me!) and try for some time
Well I've had the same problem and apparently UK Orange know that its a hardware fault and are replacing my handset tomorrow.
I've tried every rom going and every radio going and still had the problem which definately suggests its hardware fault.
If you can I'd return it to your sim provider and get a replacement.
Still no solution
I just returned the phone to the shop. I'll keep you posted...
I had the same issue, returned it to the shop.
They will swap it with another one since it's a hardware fault.
Same problem. I send back Diamond to HTC.
I hope that they'll change it with another without problem.
I had the same problem with one of the early unbranded Diamonds. HTC Europe replaced it as being a sort of DOA (dead on arrival) without any restriction. It took some weeks but all ended well!
Need help!
My diamond searches for carrier, but can not find it. Whan i manually select the network, it shows all available, but when it select one, it sais "no signal". When I try to call, it sometimes reboots. On some roms it reboots in a loop, showing htc animation. Without a sim card it works fine. No reboots.
Phone is shure GSM/3G, and it is sim unlocked.
I set up HardSPL, I flashed different radio versions, and roms as writen here. Nothing works. Any suggestions how to make it work?
have the same problem too here man, running t mobile. have tried a whole lot of roms and radios but no luck. I have gotten rid of the restarting problem now but it just cant find a signal to my network, im about to just give up and send it back in
Some more details on the issue.
It works fine, when I plug it into the charge.
Sometimes I can call when it`s plugged into my PC USB.
Doesn`t work without any external power.
A local service center (not HTC) said, the "gsm-radio module" is broken (hardware), and they don’t have any to replace it. They may replace it, if I find the analog.
Does anyone know, which "gsm-radio module" is used in diamond, and are there any other phones (Samsung, nokia ...) with the module, that will fit in diamond?
Does the official htc service repair the phones, if there is no guarantee?
Please help me someone
ya i get a signal too when its in the charger, but still get many dropped calls. it sucks that so few people have this problem and there has yet to be a solution to it. I think im just going to send it back to htc to get it fixed as it does not seem to be a software issue.
I've also recently started having this problem. Mine seems to work fine if it's at 80%+ charge, but as soon as it drops below, it has problems connecting to the carrier.
I've emailed HTC a couple days ago, but haven't heard back from them.
EDIT: Want to add that I'm on 1.93.831.1 WWE ROM and 1.08.25.20 Radio.
I don't have the restarting problem, but I do have a "fake" reception problem where it'll show that I'm connected and have signal, but I won't be able to make or receive calls.
Bumping this thread to see if there's been any progress with this issue.
HTC STILL hasn't replied to my queries. I've since sent another one and haven't gotten a response. Their customer service really is terrible.
same problem here :/
I have a Developers Edition, using an AT&T sim. I just got the sim about a month ago, as my previous phone had a normal sim instead of a micro. I'm running Android Revolution 8.1.
Intermittently, about once every two weeks, I lose all connectivity and it says sim card not found in the status bar. I reboot the phone and everything is fine. I've tried removing and re-installing the sim card twice now.
Has anyone else had this issue or know the cause?
I had that happen to my DE for this first time this morning. A reboot solved it (for now). If I'm not mistaken, this happened on the HTC One X and a number of people got new SIMs only to have the problem resurface. I guess we'll have to wait and see how many others are affected or if it's limited to only a handful of devices. I doubt if there's anything wrong with your SIM card, but AT&T will give you a replacement if you want to go that route and see.
I used to have the problem one my one x, it was caused by a poorly fitting sim tray combined with the body and back not being completely rigid (it was the same underlying problem which caused the screen flex and wifi problems on the one x). I solved the sim problem with a new sim tray but the underlying problem always remained of course...
Hello,
I am with international HTC One and I have already had this issue twice. But for me, rebooting the mobile does not solve the issue. The first time, after having switching 10 times with some other cards I had, it suddenly worked when I put the card from an Iphone.
This night, same issue again ! Up to now, even with changing with the same card, it does not work !
**** ! I don't know what to do......
Any ideas ?
i have had same issue with my ex One X . Went to service and replaced mobo.btw while all process service guys scrached the body, lost bluetooth sensivity, lost wifi sensivity,green-orange led became bigger light.
i hope something wrong with your Sim.or store can replace with new one . otherwise bad days waiting for your One.
Found this solution in another forum. Sounds like it might work.

Looking for help on this one. Every 3-5 days my Ultra gets into a state where no voice can be heard by either myself or the person on the other phone when a call is made or received, but I can hear the ring tone if I'm calling prior to the person answering, and my phone rings as normal if someone calls me. But when answering the call it's just silence on both sides. A reboot fixes this only for it to happen again 3-5 days later, requiring another reboot.
omegle xender
At first I assumed it was a corruption of the rom I had installed, so I flashed back to my stock image with Odin, including a fresh VOD CSC install. Unfortunately, it's still happening after this. Speaking as an engineer, it's unusual but not unheard of for a device to have a hardware issue of this type and it be rectified each and every time with a reboot, that would normally point to a software/firmware error of some sort. However, the fact it's continuing to happen after a completely fresh re-flash of stock Android suggests my worst fears that it is hardware. I could try some things, like not installing Magisk or even re-locking my bootloader, but I don't believe either would be a factor. I only used Magisk for rooting and don't install additional modules. I've also ruled out the sim card or sim slots by swapping to an e-sim, only for it to still happen.
Anyway, any suggestions would be welcome, especially if you have suffered something similar. There is an easy fix, which is to schedule a reboot every morning at around 3am, but I'd sooner not have to do this before working out what the underlying cause is.
Was this an issue before you rooted the device? If not that points to a software issue. Is the CSC native to the region you're in? If not you might try flashing the native firmware or your service provider's firmware. I don't believe one can relock the bootloader, at least as far as Knox is concerned which is integrated into various system entities. Have you attempted a Factory Reset? Unfortunately Samsung isn't likely to assist on a rooted device.
Ok, I have the 512 Gb version, Exynos and I have the same issue. I AM on stock so it is definitely the hardware. My manager has the same phone and he doesn't have this issue. Not sure what space capacity is his but I think it is a random hardware issue. I mean only some specific devices have this issue. I think it is time to ask Samsung to look into this.
I don't do many calls from the SIM , mainly Whatsapp, Messenger and Teams...
Same here! It happened when my sister calls and i thought that it was a problem on her end. But today it happened with another person. I've linked my Galaxy watch 4 lte to that same plan. I will test it tomorrow.
UPDATE: I cleared the cache and now every test call was succesful!
