Alright, maybe I've missed something but I am trying to sync Kies with my Sprint Galaxy Tab. I've searched and tried the suggestions out there but I continue to get "Reconnect the device in Samsung Kies" error message.
I don't see that option anywhere. I have tried multiple launchers including the one stock after factory reset.
Am I missing something obvious? Or is somebody having this problem?
Ideas?
Nobody has any ideas on this? I know it may be a n00b question but surely somebody has run across this.
settings/wireless and network/usb settings
Select Kies Mode, go to your home screen, connect usb cable to pc, run kies

So after a lot of search and a suprisingly difficult find, it appears that the US version of the tablets don't support Kies. At least the Sprint US. I'm curious as to whether I can get the update since I'm no longer subscribed with them.
Thanks for the recommendation, though. I don't even have those options available.
I have a Sprint tab and no services through Sprint. My tablet is rooted, I still get the OTA updates.

I just got a Sprint Tab today myself..
Timanator / All..
What is the latest firmware version?
While I'm running the device as "WiFi Only" (per the initial set up) I was able to snatch two OTA updates..
The build number I'm currently running is 'SPH-P100.EB28'
Is this the newest? When attempting to search for any more updates after that, I was greeted with an error message stating it couldn't connect.. Hopefully that's just what happens when your firmware is up to date.
Thanks

Are you hitting "Update Android" or "Update Firmware."
I wonder what the difference is... When I hit "Update Firmware," it drops off my WiFi and "Update Android" says it's up to date. I'm hoping the "Update Android" is where they'll push the update.
Just as if you - hitting "Update Firmware" leads to it dropping the WiFi. I let it sit for a few minutes and that's when I got connection error message.
Hitting "Update Android" just comes back with a quick "Your system is up to date." screen.
What version firmware are you running? I'm trying to figure out what's the newest version.

Same as you. I will look for a build list.
In the meantime, does anybody else have experience updating their Sprint Tab without a contract or 3G service?
I found one on sprints website and the firmware I posted is the newest one. Basically if you have sprint id, you've got the newest one..

Howdy All - I'm still pretty new here and very green when it comes to working with my Android. Previously if is searched for a software update i would get a "No Update available" message. Now everytime i try and look i'm getting a "Communication Failed: Unable to communicate with AT&T Server." What gives?!
I was rooted but jumped back using Odin. Am I missing a step or do i need to just wait until AT&T pushes the update to me?
Thanks!
b
Just move your clock 24 hours, and you can re-check the servers, if not just wait until you get the notification from att, or you can simply flash JH7 tru clockworkmod recovery, you can find it in the development section, good luck.

Hi there,
New to android phones was a sheep and had an iphone before. After reading how to get kies to work I have finally got the phone connect and kies is telling me that there is a firmware update available. However as soon as I click update and select the phone for it to upgrade it simply says that it can not complete the firmware update. Can anyone help me please or tell me of an easy way to get the update onto the phone.
cheers
Matt
You just got your phone connected to kies right and nothing else?
yeah it is only connected to kies but is still online as well do i need to put it in flight mode or such like
is wifi on if so disconnect wifi and unplug and replug the phone.
everything is off wifi and network still won't do it kies just says firmware update can not be completed have backed up everything off my phone and restored it to factory and then tried this and no joy
in kies there is a driver recovery option on the top left menu run that then unplug and plug in again
now getting a little further it starts to get into the downloading bit but then says msc.thunder.firmwareupdate has stopped working and closes. Any ideas how to sort this
i am also having this same message, anyone know the reason for this?

so, i have a german milestone, running a 2.1 serviceable non-branded german rom. the device originally had a vodafone rom.
i checked for updates today and it found an update as available, around 34mb.
i downloaded it via wifi but the update process failed, probably to the vulnerable recovery installed.
so, i've gone back to stock, and i'm trying via cable, but the software update hangs forever in the "reading configuration data". any solution for that?
can anyone else in germany verify if the update appears as available for them too?
l.e: gave up on cable update, trying hsdpa since i have no wifi available nao ; it's caled "update package" and is 32.1mb in size.

any news? anyone?
32mb is quite small for an update like that... but who knows. i've just checked android-hilfe.de and motorola europe group on facebook- none of them telling anything about any update.
@saptemai- which version are you currently running anyways?
this is probably the 2.1-update1 update.
It has to be the 2.1 update-1 Version.
Maybe you haven't applies that Update to your Milestone.
I believe Motorola will announce it in Facebook, etc if Froyo will be available for download any day now.
yup, false alarm, no froyo - still shows 2.1.
however i was already running update1, which doesn't explain exactly what this update package was.
nevertheless, this thread can be closed nao. sorry if i got people's hopes up.
Just so you know, for the false hoping...
Dude we hate you...

Hey guys
I'm using a Verizon Galaxy Tab but I do not have it connected to Verizon's network as I am using it WiFi only. I've gotten a few notifications saying there is an update available but every time I click "reboot and start download" my device simply reboots and does not begin the download. I'm assuming this is because I am using my Galaxy Tab wifi only. I've tried Kies and my device doesn't want to connect via Kies for some reason. I'm hoping there is a way I can simply download the 2.3 file and update within the device itself. My device is not rooted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Im using a verizon wireless Tab on wifi also with no plan or account with verizon. The update will still get pusked to the device. I did not get the notification, but instead I went to settings/about device/system updates.
Thats where I found out about the update. I don't remember if I had to click anything to start the download but give that a try.
Thanks for the response. I tried this but it says my device is up to date but I'm still on 2.2. It's strange because 3 times I've gotten a notification that said an update was available but each time I try to update the device reboots but doesn't install the update.
Hello all
First of all i'm totally new here.
I bought a MOTO X unlocked version from amazon com in January and i'm using it in India.
I received it as Android 4.2.2.
When i first checked for updates, It informed that a software update was available, but that wifi needed to be enabled (I have wifi enabled with internet access).
The "system updates" menu now gives a message "An update is currently being downloaded. You will be notified when the download is complete", however the information bar bottom right still bears an error message (triangle with exclamation mark) that returns message "enable wifi to start update download".
After several hours in the wifi location, it is clear that no software download is taking place, and no download symbol is present (other downloads - eg apps updates - work just fine and show the normal download symbol).
- There appears to be no way to cancel the error message, or the system update message.
- I have tried even using 3G data, but bo result.
After some days when i checked it showed me "Systed is upto date ". But it is still in 4.2.2 version. Even now it's showing me the same.
Can i get it updated to kitkat?? Can some 1 help me in this please?
