hi everyone...
desperately need help about my sgs...
i had js8 froyo and speedmod kernel 13 on my sgs.
i decided to go on gingerbread and install jvh with odin 512 pit re-part. checked
after that my tel didnt respond and on recovery mode it says
update media plesa wait
cant mount /dev/block/st110
(invalid argument)
e:copy_dbdatamedia:cant mount dbdata
your storage not prepared yet.please use UI menu for format and reboot action
copy default media content failed
recovery turned 3e btw.
i completely dont know what went wrong.
Need help!
Thank you
You have a gingerbread bootloader installed?
Any active lagfixes?
I had a similar issue after moving from cm7 back to stock-rom. This worked for me:
* flash only the .pit (no pda) with repartition ticked.
* go to downloadmode again and flash the rest (without repartition ticked).

then that's what caused it. you should have disable your lagfix before flashing the new rom. i'm not 100% sure on this but i think you need to do a factory reset and reflash and repartion. maybe some more knowledgeable could answer that one though.
Maybe Ur other kernel not support ext4 filesystem.
reflash speedmod kernel and disable lagfix then flash Ur other kernel.
I've had the same problem. The pit file I used was wrong. I was using 513 instead of 512. Try reflashing eclair. And make sure the region is the same.
i disabled the lagfix before flashing the new kernel...anyway guys i got is sorted finally...i repartitioned and flshed XXJPO using odin...thank god it worked...thank you all for caring

I'm in the same boat. Is there any way you can help me?
I've flashed xxjpo using odin but still have the issue.
First, I set up the PIT using 512. Repartition, auto reboot a f restart all checked, the two below, not checked. Connect the phone, run it, disconnect the phone, pull battery, start into download mode again.
Next, I flash the pda with the xxjpo firware from the stock firmwares section here. I unchecked repartition, but left the other two, and I'm back at square one. Is there any way you can walk me through how you got back to a booting OS?
I converted to EXT4 for a few day. MaDaCo Kernel r3 + Overcome 1.02 rom.
I want to convert back to RFS Rom. so I flashed ODIN 1.7 with JME.tar(it's signed)
already "wiped data/factory reset","wipe cache partition" on recovery screen.
Now i've got samsung logo boot loop and error message on Recovery
update medai, please wait

issue was solved.
Solution: flash with Roto-JMEv4 FULL with P1_and_hidden.pit + Re-Patition
After done,reboot with up+power.

Yes.
ODIN 1.7 (windows 7)
Checked Re-Partition
PIT file : P1_and_Hidden.pit
PDA : JME.tar (download from fus.samsung)
does it need csc and phone file or other pda file?

I would try using Roto-JMEv4 FULL. Use the P1_and_Hidden.pit and flash that together with repartition ON. That JME.tar I think is incomplete. My friend tried it before and it crapped out on him. After which, clear the cache and factory reset from Recovery mode to make sure everything is clean during boot.

Have you tried flashing Paul O'Brians rfs kernal and then flashing one of the other roms. As the kernal you have installed/flashed is ext 4 only. You need his rfs kernal to auto convert back to rfs. He links to it in his kernal post.
Hope this helps

Flash JM8 or JM9 with ODIN. Then you got recovery e2. Go to recovery witg the 3 buttons conbo and wipe then reboot. Afterwards try to flash jpy again.
HI
Please help me!
If it was my phone,I wouldn't be so worried.(It is my friend's)
See,I accidently flashed a on-file only firmware with a .pit file and didn't uncheck re-partition
After flashing the phone will restart and boot up in recovery mod.saying that the storage is not ready and i should use ui menu for formatting actions.I tried choosing format storage in the recovery mod but it's not working.
I can boot up in download mod.I think I need a full firmware but I don't know where to find one.
Please help.I beg of you.
Relax Dude!! Start the same procedure from the scratch , you will get it back to action
I did the flash thing for three times.
Still the phone will boot in recovery mode(for the first time) and say:
Can not mount / dev/block/stl10 (Invalid argument)
copy_dbdata_media: Can not mount DBDATE
Not Prepared your storage yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions
please somone help me
Samsungfirmware.com
Flash your area stock Froyo or Eclair if that fails . With pit 512 and repartition checked via Odin .
Old XDA saying man who not read Faqs FFFF up fone pretty damn quick .
jje
You could maybe try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984140&highlight=mount+stl10&page=1
Alternatively you can try to flash speedmod kernel with odin and apply the EXT4 lagfix on all partitionsm so that you have a working filesystem.
The latter worked fine for me the last two times I got this error, hope it helps
Thanks!Thanks!
It worked
Thank u so much
Hi all
I have the Bell Samsung Galaxy S I-9000
I think I screwed up my phone by trying to put to an update the CSC using Odin
After rebooting, it was always rebooting to the recovery mode.
when I reboot the phone, the boot animation will come up but when it will try to go into the OS my phone will shake and my screen will go black and will shake every 10 sec
I tried to restore my phone with the previous Rom that I saved but no luck.
Tried to reflash with Odin the stock firmware but no luck
I found something on the forumt to use Odin and click the re-partition and have the 512 Pit file and reflash the rom but didn't work.
And also when I flash the stock rom it will reboot in recovery mode and give me this error message:
Update media, please wait
e:Can't mount /dev/block/stl10
(Invalid argument)
e:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA:
your storage not prepared yet. please use UI me nu for format and reboot actions
copy default media content failed
=========================
Also I have tried to format the internal memory too and wipe data/cache
is their any other suggestion that you guys can suggest to do
Thanks
Paco
AHHHH false alarm I did something else and it worked
I did a flash with rom + pit + modem + CSC and I have put the option re-partition and the other 2 option in Odin
and now no more black screen
