My Galaxy GTI9000 has gone into boot loop following attempting a kernel upgrade. I was trying to install the voodoo control for improved sound control and needed to upgrade the kernel to get it to work which I did, now all I get is the boot animation then a blank screen and the phone vibrates. Any advice on getting into recovery mode using a pc or other would be appreciated. I have a backup of the previous kernel on the phone.
Mate, info info info........
What kernal did you try to install? What Rom?
Are you rooted? How did you flash Odin, kernel flasher?
Can you pull batt, replace and get into download mode?
Have you tried to use a froyo kernel with gingerbread?

Just reflash with stock rom if you can get into download mode.
pull out your battery, wait for 15 sec. Put it back and make 3 button combo. You shall be in download mode. Flash an other kernel

Hi there, I'm sorry to bother you all but somehow I've managed to brick my phone.
Phone info prior to brick:
gt-i9000m
using a rom developed in darky's rom kitchen
rooted
Phone info on way to brick:
Flashed European gingerbread 2.3.2 (successful)
Rooted (successful)
Phone info where became bricked:
Tried to flash seeARMS gingerbread rom onto phone using clockworkmod
Place update file into root folder of internal SD and entered rom manager app to attempt to flash rom, phone enters boot screen and stays there five minutes.
I at this point pulled the battery and reentered download mode attempting to flash european gingerbread again.. Odin runs and then hangs up while it's trying to execute the boot.ini thing, phone's screen turns off I left it running for 5 minutes to make sure that it wasn't working..
Pulled battery and tried to turn on phone enters black screen of death wear the computer exclamation mark and phone symbol pops up.
I attempt to enter download mode and succeed! Then I try to reflash 2.3.2 but again Odin hangs up at boot.ini and screen turns off.
So anyway, my question is since I can still enter download mode is there any possible way to fix my phone? I will be downloading the stock rom tomorrow and attempting to flash it again using Odin. Any suggestions?
I would flash one of the stock 2.1 roms and start all over.

Alright, thanks is there any chance you know where I could fine one?
I was able to unbrick my phone by removing the battery, holding the power button and letting all the residual energy drain from the unit, then booting into download mode and flashing 2.3.2 using Odin3. It turns out, the revision of 2.3.2 I have is without a recovery mode so I'll have to reflash a stock JL2 firmware before I can use seeArm's 2.3.2.

Unbrick it by flashing stockrom with pit 512 and repartition checked via Odin .

Please I need help! I was trying to flash speedmod kernal k13 and when odin finished up and rebooted my phone it just kept having this vibration pattern at the start up screen. Odin sees the phone on the COM port when I connect the phone on the Galaxy S scren but the 3-button combo will not work to put me into download mode so I can fix this. Please any advice would help P.S. I hope not to do the JIG method but I guess if it is the only thing left I can try it.
If you did a search regarding your problem you could find many similar threads here but anyhow please explain your previous kernel did you have any lagfix before? which rom you were using? what kind of partitions you had?
for now maybe you can try removing your battery for a few minutes and replace it and get 3 key for download mode and see if it works

I was on GingerReal 3.2 before and I had lag fixes on it. Then I flashed back to stock JVB because I was going to install CM7 but when I tried to put the speedmod kernal on my I9000 while on STOCK JVB I think I might have done it incorrectly in Odin. Now my ohine just has a vibrate pattern of 1-3-1-3... at the Galaxy S start-up screen. I removed my battery for about an hour or two and I cant get it into download mode to get the 3 button fix, if thats what you mean by "3 key".

Are you able to get in to recovery mode? (vol up + home + power)
If you can I would suggest mounting your memory card using clockwork, copy over a new kernal and install a JVB compatible kernal from there as speedmod is not for 2.3+ firmwares
If you are unable to get in to recovery mode then a jig is the way forward, when you get in to download mode you can then flash stock
I put my phone into manual recovery mode via Clockwork because I flashed a Cyanogen Nightly and didn't like it... I was going to go back to my Darky v10 ROM (which was draining my battery like a biyotch, hence the Cyanogen install)
My phone's now stuck; it turns off and on again, only getting as far as the Samsung Galaxy splash screen
This has happened before but I just popped into into recovery (via the 3 buttons) and reflashed the Darky zip.
Now I can only get it into download (which is useless to me because I don't have access to a PC)
I don't mind losing everything or going back to stock... I just want my phone to turn on
What are my options? Please help?
To flash away from cm7, your only option is a pc: you need odin to flash a samsung stock rom, with pit and repartition.

Hi, I had android 2.3.4 stock and I wanted upgrade the kernel and I was installing the talondev latest version, but it does not work because my captivate only reboot each time after see the at&t logo and the talon dev loading, but now my captivate only I can see withe display because I was reflashing to my stock rom 2.3.4 and I was using the odin3 1.81 and the rom was not installed after 20 minutes .
I have my captivate bricked? I tried to enter to downloading mode and to recovery but I can't
Please help me.
Sounds like you've tried to flash an I897 rom with an i9000 kernel. Download and flash boogs kernel, corn kernel, or samurai kernel.
Start Odin, pull battery out, connect cord to pc, connect cord to phone while holding vol+ & vol-, then insert battery.

Hi,
I was using Slim Rom 4.2.2 on my note,
I rebooted into CWM and flashed SpeedMod k3-11 and rebooted the phone without wiping anything on the device.
It is now stuck where I cannot get to recovery mode the phone screen goes strange and the image distorts before it turns itself off again.
Any idea what I can do to try and recover the phone, is it possible without being able to get to CWM?
Thanks :crying:
If you can get to down load mode you can use PC Odin to flash a kernel like pilz kernel and do all wipes then flash the ROM again from pilz kernel after flashing with PC Odin phone should reboot on its own and then boot loop just hold power - up - and home and you should get pilz recover witch is safe and can handle your flashing needs
