Quadrant Standard... How accurate are results?

Not so, with GB and lag fix kernel and modified prop I had over 2300, but rest of the UX was bad even games were jumpy, now i have less than 1000 with Quadrant and butter smooth UX (user experrience) and better and more stable framerate in games than ever
Let's say on PC you have great score with PC Mark and 3D Mark but you can't play 3D Tetris...
Quadrant Advanced is better in terms that it gives you separate score chart for different parts of test.

Its a benchmark that does not reflect the usability or response of the SGS .
Highest score on Eclair then with each upgrade score gets lower and phone gets faster more responsive and less laggy .

Quadrant results are useful if the ONLY thing you want to run on your phone is quadrant, because that's what it tests. It's similar to how on PC's, some games prefer different video cards. It also comes down to space/speed of algorithms..
The best thing to do, is to uninstall Quadrant, and test the ROM's yourself

Speedy Nook

Thanks to all the hard work from all the developers on XDA:
I love my nook with a Quadrant score of 2539!!!
CM7 v85, OC at 1.2GHz, cleaned /system/apps
Everything works: NetFlix, various markets, Flash, Youtube in HD, etc
I have a picture of the Quadrant scores, but I'm not allowed to post links yet

I feel the new OC Kernel is pretty great and I love deep sleep. But I will always remember the 4/24 Kernel at 1300mhz, which got me scores of 2700 regularly ;p
That said, I get about 2300-2500 (depending on the sd card) now, and I don't mind taking the small hit for the much better battery life.

With the 424 kernel, I was getting like 2500-2700 normally at 1.3gHz
Now with the 523 at 1.2gHz:
I had one really low one at 1400 something, I was shocked.
My highest was 2513.
Averaging around 2300-2400 excluding that first test.

I actually had the same scare (1400) lol. But that was the first test back with beta 3.1 and with just the 925mhz.

All tests were done with the exact same settings, so I was like what the hell is this.

I'm running Phiremod 6.2 with the 424 OC Kernel, and even though I'm too chicken to run at 1300, this thing just screams at 1200.

Not to derail, but how did you get Netflix working? Are you using the leaked APK, or just the website? When I try to stream from the website it gets an error.

Use the apk, test it and if it chipmunks, edit your build.prop.
A search will tell you all you need to know.

Quadrant and AnTuTu benchmark results

Guys,
Looking for some feedback on stock ROM and Kernel 3G or Wifi Only Dell Streak 7 benchmark scores. I normally think benchmarks are pretty useless, but curious to verify a few things vs a custom kernel to ensure there's no performance losses vs the stock kernel. If there's no problems found, in a few days there will be a custom kernel with CIFS, TUN, etc available thanks to Mashi. Anyone interested in that, please help out with some benchmarks here. The kernel will be in another thread, just some sanity checking of performance here.
So far Quadrant Standard is about where I saw folks in another thread.. 1950ish. i didn't see in there where it broke down the 3D score, as I'm curious a bit about that.
Run it after a fresh boot, don't run it multiple times please.. I hear that really clouds the results because it's just running out of cache, etc..
AnTuTu score for my device is 4750. I'll break down the scores here to compare line by line, if people will help out there it'll be appreciated. Same with Quandrant, if you could run this one time after a fresh boot.

Nook Color Latest Mirage cm7 - Laggy flash player

Hello all
I have a pretty big problem with my nook.
Im running latest Mirage cm7 Kang build, web browsing at 600-1000 mhz ondemand, and youtube videos (desktop website version) are very very very laggy. Sound is fine, but they show at 1-2 fps.
I've tried flash player 11, and flash player 10.3, 10.3 is a bit better but still very laggy. I even tried changing browser, but the problem persist in dolphin hd and even in dolphin mini. Is it supposed to be like this or is a flash player version specific for nook out there? Also could someone please link me a working HQ youtube apk?

sounds like you have a daft nook color I have never overclocked mine and it plays youtube via dolphin browser and the app perfectly.

How can i have a daft nook color? if it turn on and work well for everything, it's something on the software side... by the way antutu is 27xx, seems pretty legit and normal for this device.. I dont think it's some hardware fault

I just returned a nook that did exactly what yours is doing. Replacement is doing it perfectly fine.

I hope it's only a rom problem do you mind running an antutu benchmark and posting here your scores? Maybe i can see if i score low in video or cpu in respect to yours and find out if it's an hardware problem.. returning it it's not an option for me, i live in italy and i bought it refurbished from ebay, it would take forever and i dont know if im even in warranty..

I'm running the 7/30 CM7.2 MiRaGe build. My NC is overclocked to 1.2GHz using the Interactive governor. YouTube videos play well at non-HQ setting. My Quadrant score on 1st run is 2026. I haven't made any real attempts to optimize performance, as I'm more concerned about battery life.
You could try creating a bootable uSD card using a different firmware version, or a clean version of what you've got installed to see if it's something specific to your configuration. The NC is certainly up to playing YouTube videos with reasonable performance.

Ok, i did some more testing... I ran a quadrant and scored 2152 with conservative... However I noticed that the 3d fps are somewhat low in respect to some other devices with the same or lower specs. I think all nook are like this, everything else is ok.
Then i 've done some more testing with videos and YouTube. Turns out that the choppy performance was because some videos default at 480p. At 360p videos are watchable, even if they lag a little bit (in particular if I don't disable the adds banners). But I found and old YouTube apk in which hq work, and here playback is silk smooth and load times are fast.
So I'm happy to say that my nook seems perfectly fine , thanks to all for the time and for the resolution tip.. I completely forgot about that lol

Is the "old YouTube apk" available to the public???

[Q] Gaming - WerewolfJB CM10.1 beta3

Hi all!
I love the work of laufersteppenwolf in making ROM for this smartphone, but it's not the aim of this post to say how much I appreciate his work.
I have a question.
Have anyone tested gaming in this (WerewolfJB CM10.1 beta3) ROM. How it looks? For example how it looks like with the games that used to lag a little: NFS:MW or Shadowgun, and how with those, which where almost unplayable because of the lags: i.e. Spiderman.
Are they running smooth?

Some are better, need for speed is smooth. Spiderman still laggy but not as bad. Some are worse though like nova 3, in benchmarks most stuff was higher but I/O speed is lower than stock which may explain why some are worse. I haven't tested today's new kernel though
