anyone wants an eng instruction?
i d like to help
English instructions would really help...
Also if im not wrong the translation of the Chinese site states that you have to rename something to phone.apk and move it to /system/app ...am i right?
Also since MIUI is based on CM6...it should work there ?
Update : Doesnt work.
Imho crystal talk is bad news, doesn't always work as it should.
I m glad i got rid of it,i had serious issues...

English translation:
1) download and unzip the file
2) copy the phone.apk to your phone
3) use root explorer to change the permission of phone.apk to
√√×

√××
4) move the phone.apk to system/app and reboot

Yes you can haz! Found this on Androidspin. Installed using instructions and it seems to work.
Off topic, but it is no longer considered funny on the Internet to say "I can haz..."
That being said, that is a pretty clean looking kb. If I was a fan of using the on-screen kb (read: if I didn't have fat thumbs), I'd definitely give that a try.

Hmm... I didn't get the memo on that. But I still think it's funny!
It's actually pretty functional. I use the on screen keyboard for quick texts and am using it right now. I still don't think it'll replace Swype or Swift Key. But it is a big improvement over the previous keyboard.

HA HA! By the sounds of it before your time (I'm old!) They were a toy from the '80's, like Army Men but cartoonish ants. There's a thing going around on Facebook about posting cartoons from your childhood as your profile pic for some stupid cause (the cause isn't stupid, believing that changing your profile pic will do anything is but I thought it'd be fun). I'm surprised you didn't ask about Go Bots! LMAO! My search history can get weird sometimes. Good thing the porn didn't showing up!
Love the new keyboard, had a couple of issues though. It was laggy at first, but I reflashed, and now it's fast again, don't know whether reflashing it or rebooting fixed it, but whatever,
also, it doesn't seem to like the word "don't". The only way it will suggest don't is if I type dont exactly. If I type something close, such as domt or dobt or dony it suggests font. It just won't suggest don't. Anyone else having this issue? I'm running cm6.1-stable with a ported theme on it ):
EDIT: I added don't to the user dictionary, now it suggests it. Still odd that it doesn't by default.

To clarify, you are stating they should be using this while in recovery:
Code:
adb install whatever.apk
Correct?
Not abd install. It's a flashable .zip. Flash just like a ROM.
Edit: Looking into it further, the .zip contains a shell script that removes the old keyboard and an update script to install the new one and of course the apk. You can do this all manually through adb. There's a guy (Ryan) that commented the instructions in the linked article.

So if it's a flashable zip then it can be done in recovery without adb. Just select 'install zip from sdcard' go to the zip and install like a rom. At least that's what I get out of it being a flashable zip - I'll try it and see.
In the linked thread it states go into recovery and install .zip. not anywhere does it say extract or use adb there are instructions to do it that way and if your getting the error when flashing then you will indeed need adb

Yeah, but it only works on froyo, don't pull a stupid like I did and try to flash it onto an odexed sense rom xD Had to reflash my rom because it removed all of my .odex files and I couldn't boot.
ANYWAY, yeah for some reason, it won't predict ANY words with apostrophes in them. Only if I add them to the user dictionary. Very annoying, but I suppose at some point I will have added every word that I could possibly conceive using into the user dictionary. I think it has something to do with me having the User Dictionary for Better Keyboard installed, it was only for sense UI roms, but titanium restored it when I hopped onto cm6.1, so that may have been the issue. Since, I uninstalled that user dictionary app, but it's still happening. Oh well, I think it's worth it.
Hey, I'm new to this whole ROOTED/FLASH/MOD thing..
Just rooted my phone like 10 min ago...
So forgive me if this question sounds stupid.
Does this Keyboard work on a Rooted Slide running Android 2.1??
Its posted under MyTouch Slide, and since the MTS doesnt come with 2.2 (nor is there a 100% port of 2.2 for the slide that I can find) Then Im assuming this should work under 2.1 - but it seems to not work. I flash the .zip through recovery mode, but when I reboot the old Touch2.1 Keyboard is still there and no GB Keyboard is to be found

have to use version 2.0 and not the older 1.2 of Check Fus. Version 2.0 has an advance menu which then decrypts the downloaded file.
That being said, the issue is moot as I just checked and the most recent downlad there is KI1, no KI2 for the 7510 as yet.
And Dutch Danny has just posted a KI2 rom for the wifi version -- problem solved

Well I have flashed this over previous KI1 - and got a bootloop - startup animation was playing again and again - so had to go to recovery and do a factory reset. After that everything started to work properly. However factory reset deleted everything that was on internal storage - program settings, photo/video etc.
Regarding new firmware - it looks that it keeps more free RAM, so things like starting apps etc seem to be a bit faster. Scrolling of homescreens, however, seems to be less smooth than on KI1. Also one annoying bug in Gallery remains - when opening picture it opens blurry, and you have to zoom it a little so it will redraw and look crisp.

Does it work for both outgoing and incoming calls? I want to give this a try but seeing the bricking of several devices related to latest CWM, I think I'll have to wait for a while until some of the issues are resolved.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up! This is definitely another feature worth waiting for (aside from the official update to ICS for P7300 users).

I don't suppose this modem will work on stock Honeycomb 3.2 or the AOSP Jelly Bean? Or will it?
Seems nice, but i dont have the deodexed ics to try it
Sent from my GT-P7300 using xda app-developers app
Or what if I flash the official P7310 ICS and then add this modem into it?... hmmm
Well, the modem seems to work with Honeycomb but since there is no Dialer in there, it does not respond to incoming calls nor is it able to dial using GO Contacts EX.
I hope stock ics for 7300 to ebable voice calls... Let's wait and see...
If Samsung didn't enable GSM voice for the 10.1 (P7500) stock ICS, I don't think they'll have a change of heart and enable it for 8.9 (P7300). But still, it will be a dream come true if they did.
One of the reasons I bought the 8.9 because of the early reviews from GSM Arena saying it had voice. But that would be like crying over spilled milk wouldn't it?
I just hope they resolve the bricking issues from the other threads so we can try instructions here without fear of losing our tabs in the process.
What enrages me the most is that stock Honeycomb 3.2 has a Phone.apk and a TelephonyProvider.apk present in system/app but they will neither install, not show up in the App drawer.
If I only knew what configuration files block these apk's from registering... since this modem here works fine under Honeycomb...
I need the knowledge to unfu*ck what Sam-Sung did.
gsm voice call working on ics
Finally obtained to work over the ics in the development forum, ported from p7500.
The trick is to modificate framework-res.apk and enable this function.
The dialer is nice.
Some functions, as manage redirection of calls, cannot be used. But in general the read looks sunny...

There is a risk bricking your device, under my point of view if you have used some moment last 6.x version of CWM. But do a read around other threads and only go ahead if you are pretty sure.
It is quite easy, except the fact i had to install again HC but i think the problem is with the CW version. I think no tisk with 5.5.4.
- install the modem as described in the first post. I have used it over 3.1, 3.2 from hcomb and from ICS (cyanogenmod v 9 and the adapted version made in development form from official 7500).
- install a rom with support for phone. I have checked .
Between both do your reboot as usual.
Now is the moment to change the framewor-res.apk to support phone applications.
I have attachedthe file update.zip refered to forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1835031
Comments
1 to check if the new modem works, just phone to the tablet. If the line is not busy it should be working.
2 i cannot manage the voice over bluetooth headset
Can you be more specific about editing framework-res?
The thread that you linked to does not have an update.zip anywhere.
Disregard last post
I managed to get GSM voice calls working on stock Honeycomb 3.2.
After many efforts with different versions of apk decompile tools I managed to get the framework-res.apk with voice calls to work.
In effect the App Drawer now shows a Phone icon and the Contacts app now shows an option to dial a number.
I am attaching my working framework-res.apk which should work for anyone with a P7300 on a stock Honeycomb 3.2 ROM. I also have the I9003 modem installed but this might work with the stock baseband on your devices. Try and see.
If it doesn't, then flash the I9003 modem as per OP.
Push the framework-res.apk via ADB. Or use RootExplorer or equivalent to replace framework-res.apk in /system/framework and reboot.
Consider using ex Dialer from Play Store to be able to punch in numbers by hand.
Bluetooth headset is not working. Most likely something missing form build.prop. Will investigate.
Has someone else tried?
Correct me if I am wrong:
from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875024
get the files and follow the instructions:
For [ROMs based Samsung Stock ICS 4.0.4 Deodex OR Odex]

2- Make a Full Backup. [Recommend]
3- Install File CWM_I9103XXLQ3_Modem.zip

Honeycomb oes not support video calling over gsm networks. In fact, even in Gingerbread on Samsung devices that ha video calls, the feature was sort of hacked into Android to work. Android source code releases do not contain anything related to nativee video calling, I believe. Hence there was never an AOSP custom ROM that had them.

Hi - I have so far avoided trying to get GSM voice calls working on my P7300 because I thought I would have to install a custom ROM, and I prefer to keep things as maintenance free / easy as possible. BUT... it sounds like you have installed the standard ICS rom for your p7300, and you've got the dialer working? Has anyone else managed this with the P7300XXLQ6 ICS Rom from Samsung Austria?
Thanks for the post mate!
I made this "mod" (in quotes because it basically is stock samsung rom ) using greek latest stock img.
It basicaly is stock gingerbread, everything is the same except:
-Swipe-to-remove Notifications
-Deodexed
-Some build.prop tweaks
There are two versions. One with all stock system apps and one with removed bloatware (IN MY OPINION) apps.
Some apps removed in second version are:
-MyFiles is removed (you can use ES explorer if you want.)
-Email and Gmail are also removed. Gmail gingerbread version sucks (wish they would make it just like ICS+ version :/).You could try K-9 mail.
-Thinksfree Office is also removed. Perhaps use QuickOffice?
-Music Player is removed (perhaps use google play music instead?)
It is NOT rooted, so perhaps you want to flash superuser.zip.
I upload this as a rom and not as a separate SystemUI.apk and framework.jar because it needs deodexed rom, and I think this will make your life easier. If however you want SystemUI.apk and framework.jar, ask and I will upload them separately.
HOW TO INSTALL
Before Flashing Over Stock Rom, Unmount /system !!!
Basically for NFC users you have to intsall stock rom and then flash the zip.
For non-NFC users, install stock and the flash and do whatever you would do if you installed Peter's ROM (don't know if it works though. I haven't tested!)
For Arabic language support, flash this after installing ROM (thanks to @ahmedadd for patch):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50658678&postcount=29
Squadzone's kernel works for me, so if you like, you could flash it, but always at your own risk.

About "My Files" and "Music Player" I removed them because as I said I removed apps I always uninstall when I install stock Rom.
Well, Perhaps I could upload one with My Files and Music Player. Perhaps add Email too if you want it.
Finally about arabic language I do not know how to add it. Perhaps @ItachiSama could help with that? I think I did "compiled" with Samsung sources, as what i basically did was to extract stock image, modify apks and then pack everything into zip. Didn't really compiled anything

I don't see the reason why I should add screenshots. As I said it is same as stock, only that it has swipe notifications. You want screenshot while wiping notification?

Yea I realised that you said it's stock as soon as I posted the reply
I would like that swype to remove animation but I really like my current statusbar. And I cannot implement it myself because I always get an error while recompiling .jar files :S

It seems fine.. When you click on link you should see 2 .zip files.
Click "BleachedRom" zip, it will say it cannot be opened, but in the down-right corner there is a button to download the zip.

Just upoaded a new, all_apps version, as you asked..
@bleached, have you any problem with Google+?
On stock I've kinda strange notifications problems (on 5 notifications 2 are shown, with a refresh 3, after checking 'already seen' ones the missing 2 -.-)
If you haven't, I can easily shift to your stock

Yeah I have problems too. Sometimes bell is grey (indicating I have notifications) but no notifications are shown :/

I hope you edited the framework.jar of my ROM, and not the stock one, or took it from somewhere else, because then swipe-to-remove notifications will crash. If you edited mine and everything is fine, tell me so I can link your patch post in my first post
