Is there any reason why only corporate, LinkedIn, Facebook or Exchange email accounts can be added to the CM7 7.0.3? I want to add an account so that I can be identified by my Gmail account, but I only have the options of adding LinkedIn, Facebook, corporate or exchange accounts.
Do you have Google Apps installed?
If not get them here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version/Google_Apps
Flash the zip in clockworkmod recovery.

I have 3 different google hosted email accounts added to the gmail app on my galaxy. When I try to email a file/photo/... from other apps on the phone the account that was added last is used. I know that you can not change the From: email account with gmail app but is there a way to set the default account for sending emails? I want the emails to be sent from the first account which is a default one for the phone so I am not sure why the 3rd one is used. Any ideas?
I already use the standard email client for my Gmail since I have two other email accounts, and I like being able to have them all in one unified inbox.
My question is, if I sync my Gmail calendar and contacts through the standard Email client using exchange (push), and disable the integrated Google contacts/calendar sync (presumably through the GMail app?), will that be any more or less battery/bandwidth efficient? And could I then use SGS Tools to uninstall the Gmail app, or are there other services that still depend on it?
Thanks!

Only 8 of about 400 of my contacts are backing up and restoring from my gmail account. These are 8 of the newest contacts. It appears that somehow when I created them they were created with the gmail attributes.
How do I ensure that all of my contacts get backed up to my gmail account?
The way I did was go to accounts, click on my gmail account, then sync the items that I want saved. For instance, I have contacts, docs, and mail synced.

I tried that but it only syncs those 8 contacts and none of the others??
Hi all,
I have my Gmail account synchronized + Facebook events. I have a second mail address on a different domain on witch I use Gmail Web interface to login. How can I sync that particular calendar with my calendar app?
I prefer using the default calendar app if possible.
Thx.

the sync option should support on that account
it means you should ask admins of that domains to add support for sync to Google calendar
:good:
Thx. I did it by setting a second Google account and sync only calendar. Then via mail app sync email.
For some reason my Gmail, completely up to date, has no Exchange support. When adding a new account I only get two options: Gmail or Yahoo, Outlook, Aol, etc...
I have the default mail client on my Turbo disabled, but I have tried re-enabling it adding the Exchange account there, and then checking Gmail, but that didn't do anything. This is my first Android phone in a couple of years, so I may just be missing something painfully obvious.
Any ideas?
Exchange support should be enabled in the Gmail app once Lollipop lands on the device.

you need to download it separately. I got mine either off mobilism or aptoide, or a simple google search. It's a separate .apk
Go to apkmirror.com. Look for Google Exchange Services. Download and Install. When you try to add another email account, it will have an Exchange option.
