How do i install MANGO beta version on my new htc hd7 phone ?
I went to a website just download something on my computer while my phone is connected on the computer since it is charging the batterys.
I download a file and i dont understand anything looks very complication
Plus i dont no what to do... so all i wanted was to just download beta beta just to see what is new for the phone without any issues and without any errors.
So is there an actual way like a video on step by step how to install it what to click on and such and wher to find the file ?
http://www.nitrix-reloaded.com/2011/05/25/download-windows-phone-developer-tools-7-1-beta-mango/
thats whewre i downloaded then as it was all on my computer a screen apears and with things i personaly dont no what im doing after this so im confused and lost.
I found the site some place on the net but it looks complication and far too technical ones it was download on my computer.
Will my photos and video i have on my phone be wiped off ? i just hope not.
I need your advice what to do.. any ideas ?
thanks

Hello,
The site that you show is for the Developer Tools!
In order to create new applications and games, developers must have this "tool"...this is not a beta Mango ROM and that will not appear for sure!
You must wait until Fall to have Mango on your phone.
thanks,
Santos

Hi love. Thanks for that information. I never new that, Know i understand its only to create apps and so on.
But i read around that you can know download MANGO beta for free onto the phone and only get some new features on the phone.. wasnt that correct ?
i know mango will arrive complete in september but i thought there was a mango beta where you can enjoy beta version for know until the full complete mango in september.

We normal users of WP7 only in Fall will have access to Mango
I can smell a beta leaked mango coming soon near a htc hd7 near you
I read a few things about mango on the wp7 app news.
They say theres going to be 500+ features for mango.
Really 500 features ? what are all the 500 of them will be?
They have allready revealed what to expect and we only have just discovered about 10 or so of them so this leads to about 480 or so features unrevealed.
So what could it all be ? Maybe nothing that much excitement i bet. But wish i new.
Hard to believe really 500+ something features for mango for all Wp7 PHONES.
i know IE9 and a few allready revealed but perhaps i bet the rest wouldnt be that too important otherwise it would be clasified as top priority to announce, Because if there was a big most important change in mango.. they would of said what it is know rather then unknowing whats in the bag if you know what i mean. bunch of mangos.

Hey guys, I have been reading for a couple of hours on this forum and found some great info, but I'm still having some questions
1. dutty's rom, I've seen it on youtube, but is it actually faster than the normal rom? I mean, if you use tomtom by example, do you get better framerate on it?
2. if you put dutty's on, do you still get support from htc? like don't you void the warranty?
3. I've seen some original rom files, but if you put that on, doesn't it change the windows mobile license?
4. if you have dutty's, can you still copy contact info from msn into the contacts?
I have quite some experience with linux and windows programming, but to this mobile stuff, I'm totally a newbie
thanks

Your best bet is to go to kaiser rom development sections and read the stickies there.
1. yes, its faster
2. u loose warranty, but there is a tutorial how to revert it to the original rom in case of warranty
3. ?
4. never used that, buut I think yes
at 3 I mean: When you get an original rom from the forums, does it give you a different windows license? or is that just something inside the phone itself?
and, if dutty's is faster, does that also mean a longer battery life? I read something about better video drivers
thanks for the answers
I probably go for the dutty's now I think

battery life, reception, camera and some other things are influenced not by the rom, but by the radio rom.
Sorry but I dont understand what u mean by license. I am not from english-speaking country.
I don't think licensing is that big a deal with a phone. Infact I'm not sure if you can purchase a retail copy of windows mobile. These aren't home made computers.

Hi all,
After finishing off v2 of Device Update for the Hermes, I'm looking at making it more compatible with other devices. The next on my list is the Kaiser
Could I get a few people to message me to try a new version of Device Update that should work correctly (and not show Hermes only apps) on the Kaiser.
For those wondering what Device Update is, check out:
http://www.crc.id.au/deviceupdate
and

Thanks.
EDIT: I've had someone test it on Kaiser and all should be well...
That being said, I've attached v2.0.7.8 to this post for all of you to test
Havent heard of it till now, but looks great. Bring it on! (to the kaiser I mean )
Also what makes this much different than App2Date? (asking because I know someone will at some point)

Lots.
#1 - I do the hosting for your apps. I've served nearly 800 apps in the last 6 hours or so.
#2 - People can browse the index of software.
#3 - Automatic updates is only a side effect - but a major bonus.
#4 - Custom written geo-location based mirroring gives the user the fastest speeds no matter where they are on the planet
#5 - everything between the servers & clients is compressed - this means faster transfers and less data transfer.
And there's probably more
So when is this going to be avail?????
Nice one mate.
Count me in for a bit of testing
Feel free to shout me for anything you need.

Awesome - good to hear.
I'm in the middle of writing some documents for ROM cooks and developers on how everything works within DU so it can be included in peoples ROMs and also how people can make their CABs DU compatible...
Hopefully I'll be able to get something finalised real soon. DU has pretty much become standard in all ROMs for Hermes
works like a champ on my tilt....Great job on this app! Does this also tell what you already have installed and can update that?

Yes and no. All packages installed via DeviceUpdate will show if an update is available. You will see this as a category up the top labeled "Available Updates". We don't however have a way of tracking if an application is installed from another source - as we use registry entries to track packages.
This means it is possible to see an app on the Device Update index that is already installed from a different source. At the moment, we leave this up to the user to detect.
thanks for the response. You did a great job on this app!
Only thing i cant figure out is where the themes go when i download them...or are they not m2d themes? Only one i downloaded was the flat black theme and for the life of me i cant find it. I just got it to test that it worked as well. Ive already got over 20 themes so i dont need it But i even used the search on the phone and cant find it.
The themes are standard Windows Mobile themes - not M2D themes.
Ok cool. Im sure thats why it didnt work then. So i cant find any bugs. Great job. If you want you can pull the themes from my 4shared folder. They are all m2d
Fantastic application.
I was using this in my HTC Touch (ELF) before.
I just bought a Kaiser (TYTN II) and installed the latest Device Update into it.
Tried installing "HTC Home Customizer" and a few other apps but evertime get a error "WCELoad Returned Code: 2147024891".
What is this error code and how can i fix it and let Device Update install apps in my Kaiser.
I changed to WM 6.5 last night. I had the AT&T 6.1 rom before.
With both ROMs, my camera is just black. Doesn't show anything at all (not even darkly.
Any ideas? It's probably not software if it doesn't change when I update the ROM right?
I don't care for 6.5 much, so I'm going to try another 6.1 rom in a minute...
Thanks
Your radio ROM is incorrect for whatever hardware/ROM revision you are using. Experiment around with different radios until you get one that allows your camera to work.
Nice of you to search for the oldest problem out there.

Thanks for the advice. I'll just assume in the future that if I search and find nothing, that I must have used the wrong terms, and shouldn't bother asking in the future. Glad you saved me.
I did search. Now, when I searched "radio rom camera problem" (after the 1st response) I got tons of hits. When I searched "8925 camera is black only" I got nothing relevant. It's new to me.
Well, oddly enough, I encountered a much more serious problem with the ROM I was using, so I went back to 6.1 (I don't like 6.5 for some reason)
After loading the AT&T 6.1 rom, the camera works...
Thats because the ATT ROM has an included radio, which evidentally is one that works with your hardware revision and enables the camera.

Ok- So Radio rom can be flashed with or without the OS rom? Good to know.
The radio rom has to match the hardware? Or the OS?
I'd like to give the WM6.5 rom another try, if I can get everything to work

A couple years late to the Kaiser party, but I still love my Kaiser and it my not be as flashy and my be a tick slower and may not have the spacious screen that the HD2 has, but with a custom rom and a little tweaking, it does everything An HD2 does, and I love my keyboard.
Windows Mobile isn't dead, it was just taking a long vacation while Steve and Bill and the others were playing the " fat cat " billionaire roles to the hilt while the company went down the toilet.
Hopefully Windows Phone 7 series is the start of a resurgence that will integrate Windows, Windows Mobile, Zune OS and XBox into a fully integrated powerhouse, before it is too late.
Maybe Apple overtaking them is exactly what they need.

It was also on the rom flashing tutorial
7. After I flash a Rom I dont have any sound in calls and the camera is black
The Radio has to match the version of Rom you flash i.e. WM6.1, an incorrect Radio will give sound and camera problems. Read The Ultimate Radio Thread to find a Radio that matches the Rom there are lots to try on there if one doesnt work then try another.

you should check --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=658780
I don't think WP7 would run on this phone, it needs a lot more firepower. If you want a more up-to-date OS, you might want to try Android. There's a lot of development for Android on the Kaiser going on here. It runs pretty well, and you can even get a WP7 theme for it if you want. Hope this helps.
It seems the Jail Break/Root is coming to Windows Phone 8 soon. It may free more features from wp8. Looking forward to it.

The only thing I saw was Ultrashot saying it was a Riffbox "hack" (meaning you'd need to have some special hardware and probably physically open up your phone, to do it).

its also unbelievably dodgy if you don't know what your doing.
You effectively connect directly to the ROM chip, an I mean that in a physical sense and rewrite any data you want, you can "root" anything doing this as you'll bypass any security measures, its just a matter of getting the correct software to flash on to the thing that's tricky, oh and the small matter cracking open your device, locating the chip, working out the necessary configurations to power it up and flash it
I did some research on this for the focus S and yes its possible but its way beyond my abilities

It's dispointing for sure....All I want is 3 rows of tiles and custom colors on my 928.... is this too much to ask ? (Not at Devs at Microsoft)...
Then get the ATIV Odyssey, which I just unlocked InteropUnlocked Sunday, except three tiles might be overkill on a 480x800 screen. O_0

If you are 8.1 user use custom wpsystem and customPFD
also you can use resource hacker of djamol after that . Using resource hacker is not maybe very safe for this time so wait for it
Note that djamol's hacks don't make a complete root, though they are the closest thing that is public right now for a Lumia like yours. Nobody's going to say anything about a full root until it's ready, and ideally not even then not until after a major update (to give the most possible time before MS <REDACTED>s us over with an update that takes away control of our personal devices again).
