[Q] HOW TO - ROOT Official Captivate Froyo

Following all the procedures available to root, based on Eclair build, leads to the following error in recovery <3e> -
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Looking for a way around this...
Any ideas?

i have rooted my galaxy i9000 recently n now whenever i install a rom following error apears

E:signature varification failed

Which kernel did you use for rooting, which firmware are you using and which file do you wanna flash?

i m using 2.3.3 firmware kernal version cf root xw vesion 3.2on galaxy s i 9000

I tried to flash Slim Bean 3 on my original ICS (N7000XXLRK) and it's rooted but it just give me this massage
"Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed"
and i do not what is it means
i tried to flash with hydra core 7 kernel and give me the same massage
please if any one know the solution for this help

I guess you are using stock recovery to do this. lucky that you survived.
you need to use cwm to install the rom.
download philz kernel lrk and install it the same was as you are doing now. Once done reboot into recovery and install the ron

Failed to verify whole-file signature

Hello, i want to Flash my S3 mini with the FW XXAMB3 from here. In Odin it works freagt, and after the Phone reboot came the Android Logo an following Error:
Invalid command Argument, failed to verify whole-file signature and signature verification failed.
I tried to wipe the Phone and installed again, but same Error. I downloaded the File again but same Error.
Can anybody help me please?

You have custom recovery with signature verification on?

I have Recovery 6.0.2.7 on the Phone. I switched in Toogle to disabled, but same Problem.
The download in Odin works great, on the Display in the Phone was the green Android and
Downloading... and a blue Line goes from left to right.
And after finished downloading the Phone reboots and here comes the Error.

Flash stock recovery in cwm before odin update and see if that works.
I know that cwm have problems reading the sec_csc.zip that gets extracted upon reboot.

flashing this sec_csc_XXAMBA3-for-cwm.zip - 33.43 MB with cwm should be an easier way

I need help regarding rooting my Jelly Bean Samsung Galaxy Ace II e from Videotron. I've already tried using the root.zip and recovery mode, and I get this error message when trying to install from sd card.
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed.
Any clues?

Wrong section bro, this is for Galaxy Ace s5830.

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if you ever figured it out. I'm having the same problem...
