Okay, let's start:
Flashed the spacemoose Honeycomb, then tried flashing a GSM version to start experimenting with all the different versions. Tab is bricked and will not boot. When my PC see's the tablet, the tablet is still dark (no images on screen, etc.)
I tried Kies (installing drivers, etc). I tried to load with Odin (no luck). Android Commander says "Loading..." but will never do anything.
What I know:
Samsung GT-P1000N shows as USB Mass Storage
Run > cmd > .... > adb devices > shows "serial number #### recovery"
Not sure where to go from here. Any thoughts?
so your pc is seeing the tab , here is what been saying here for like this kinda of problem ..
plug your tab into your pc and run odin , leave it for at least 1hour plugged , make sure every 5mins you check it , neither odin showing it or not yet .. after ur tab is showing pls flash any rom you want , and stop playing with it too much and give it a break also the tab sometimes needs break
Edit : forgot to mention that this is not the right place to ask a question ( Q\A) section is the right place

Sorry, I must have not been paying attention when posting.
Odin will see the device but can never successfully set up a connection.
after u plug your tab into wall charger do u see the tab is charging ? ?
and try to reboot your pc , maybe odin lag .. who knows .......
Still got nothing on that.
Any suggestions anyone?
Fully recharge tab from home power. Then use a different usb port on your pc.
Use Heimdall to flash. Much more stable. First install the drivers , and make sure the .net framework (I believe) is installed. Put your phone in download mode and flash the rom/kernel.
That should work. Also you could check out Lite'Ning v3.0
Maybe http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878686 could help as well.
Good luck and let us know!

Thanks in advance for any response!
The followings are my phone's symthoms:
1. My phone WAS FANTASTIC until I updated new Darky extreme version 9.2 (upgrade from 9.0)
2. I degraded it to the stock rom with Ryan's OLFG -> Working very well...
3. Until the phone was restarted. The phone was still working however
4. IT BECAME FREEZING. I couldnt scroll, couldnt touch the screen, or the phone response was like 5 mins later for each touch.
5. I followed instructions on the internet to flash with stock rom (JM8) and upgraded it to JPO, and the result is
6. THE PHONE COULDNT BE BOOTED at the Galaxy logo.
7. I tried to flash the phone over and over with different stock roms using ODIN 1.3 (with well understanding about repartition and PIT)
8. NOW, my phone is still able to access the download mode, but my PC CANNT SEE THE PHONE DRIVER ANYMORE(tested on 3 other laptops with the same result)
9. Reinstall USB drivers like 20 times, the results have been the same.
TO me this should be a phone death. Im gonna purchase the new Galaxy S 2
HOWEVER, If there is anyway to revive my phone back to normal (Cuz I wanna get some important data in the internal card), I will not only send a big gratitude but some DONATE as well.
Thanks.
so you put the phone in download mode first... then you attach the USB ???
Does anything happen when your in Odin ?? does it not say connected or anything ??
and have you tried doing a factory reset in recovery mode ??
aslong as your phone can go into download mode there is still hope so dont give up on it just yet
U obv have samsung kies right?. Go on processes on ur pc ctrl alt del n kill the kiestrayagent process
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Surely I killed KS before doing ODIN. The PC(s) said it was Unknown device.
My phone was on when android 2.1 installed (but freezing, not just lagging .... completely freezing on the home screen) and would not boot if i installed 2.2
Sigh....
Thanks for your replies
The PC(s) said it was Unknown device.
Thats generally a USB /driver/windows problem .
You installed deadlys rom and it should still be recoverable even from that .
Is your phone picked up via Kies phone/Odin will need Kies installed .
I would have flashed back to a clean copy of Eclair first off to get the phone working .
jje
Both Kies and Odin could not see my phone... I killed Kies process before doing Odin, but the result was still a sadness.
Hi there guys, That's it .
After reaching my highest limit of searching / installing / removing , z4root , super onclick, which btw none work, I am on the edge, basically , loosing my mind, and all I would like to do is just root my phone and have it working properlly and faster.
Now there are so many old root methods as the one I tryed Does any of you guys can help me out and explain how do I root my Samsung Galaxy S I-9000, with froyo 2.2 firmware ?
Thank you Omri.
what exact firmware,
i used JL2 and super one click worked for me.
try all of them.
Gets stuck on " Waiting for Device "
and i already unplugged the phone a couple of times with usb debugging on/off , any chance that im doing somthing wrong?
flash speedmod kernel.. or cfroot kernel
Can you see phone from the PC?
It sounds like the Odin method of flashing a custom kernel is not an option (if not try that - lots of info in the kernel posts)?
If your computer is not recognizing the phone try remove and reinstall drivers and kies and then also clean out the port on the phone with alcohol (and try another usb cable if you have one).
That my two bits. I tried in vain to root from the phone alone with 2.2 but finally got odin working by cleaning the port and now the possibilities are endless.
What exactly is this "Flashing / Kernel" options exactly , because the computer recognizes the USB just fine. ??
See here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756
This is for speedmod (if you need other options go to the stickies in the development section and look for the kernel list near the bottom of the stickies).
Follow the procedure for Odin installation. You will need to ensure you can go into download mode (Vol Down, home and power buttons to see - it should show android with a shovel in yellow - you can pull the battery to stop it if just checking but don't touch anything while Odin is working). If you cannot get 3 button download working, look for that fix in the forums too. I did not have that issue so I can't point you in the right direction there.
I think hardcore's page (author of the rom) has a link to an Odin guide. But its worth getting to know a bit as it will save your bacon if you need to get back to stock for warrenty.
Once you have this rom you'll be rooted and have clockwork Mod which allows flashing from the phone if you like (most custom roms are based on CWM installation). This is what I did once I got mine back from warrenty with 2.2 and then I flashed Darky's rom keeping the stock modem.

If you are stuck at "waiting for device"
do not exit Super One Click
1. pull out the usb from the phone,
2. turn off by pulling out the battery
3. put the battery back, turn on & plug in the USB
Hi has uploaded ICS 3333, and it worked for a few weeks then today when it in airplane mode I took it out my pocket and it was in a bootloop mode.
Samsung --> Semaphore
So decided that I would retry installing ICS starting with 2.3.6 using ODIN but it crapped out, and now it's only allowing me to go into download mode. It said failed, retried a few times but I did not record the exact error (aaah)
As it is allowing me to get to download mode thought that would be ok, but when I connect it to the PC, it is not recognised at all now. So ODIN does not seem to work..
Im sure you are going to say just install a specific driver or something, but I don't what it would be. The PC recognised the mobile earlier, but just not now.
Update: Now the Phone is fully dead, and does not appear to be charging at all. So maybe dead because the battery is flat.
I've updated ROm's a few time's and always had the recovery mode to recover things and even have the USB item which should allow to move into download.
Any idea's folks.
thanks in advance... Bill
I was following this initially
1st Install this - this flashes Andoid 2.3.6 first
I downloaded I900XXJVU_I9000OXAJVU_OXA.rar
Disconnect your phone if it’s connected to PC. Then Switch it Off. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
Now, put the Galaxy S in “Download Mode” — press and hold these keys together: Volume_DOWN+Home+Power until a screen saying ‘Download Mode’ comes up.
Open Odin (from step 5) — Odin3 v1.7.exe.
Connect your phone to PC now. You should get the message “Added! !” under the Odin’s message box in the bottom left. If you don’t get “Added! !” message, than probably there is a problem with drivers. Make sure you’ve drivers installed (links given above under heading ‘Pre-Installation thoughts’).
Now, in Odin, select these files at respective tabs (for visual help, see the screenshot at step 11 below):
a) Click the PDA Tab, and select CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5 (from step 3.1)
b) Click the Phone Tab, and select MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar.md5 (from step 3.3)
c) Click the CSC Tab, and select GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar.md5 (from step 3.2)
d) Click the PIT Tab, and select s1_odin_20100512.pit (from step 2)
Make sure the ‘Re-Partition’checkbox in ODIN is selected. Also, Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes should be selected too. Leave everything else on Odin untouched.
Double check everything said in step 10 and 11 above. Your Odin’s screen, after selecting all the files and ticking and not-ticking the checkboxes, should look like this:
Screen capture can be found at weblink
Now, hit the START button to begin the flashing process. When it finishes, your phone will automatically reboot, upon which you can unplug the cable. Plus, you’ll get a PASS (with green background) message in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. ***I got a fail here***
read that kies is different from usb drives. Not 100% sure that would be the issue as could connect previously with ODIN, which I think means the drivers are ok.
Next question that I have, if the battery has gone flat, and it does not appear to be charging either with USB or wall mounted, where do I go from here...
Im not a total newbie, and have been on DarkyRom for most of the versions, just this boot loop has got me big style... Can anyone give me a few idea's of what to try...
You might try a direct battery charger for which you won't need your battery to be in phone and one charged you can try the usual things as flashing through odin.
Try to install another driver..since i use ics for my sgs..pc wont recognise my phone..i install s2 or nexus driver ( mtb driver ) and it works perfectly as before..
If you have flashed ICS then you will need to install the GNexus drivers that are contained here
Try and get your hands on a external charger as erpurohit has suggested or borrow a friends battery
Flashing back to stock or Darky's 10.2 should get your phone going again
Thanks folks for responses (did the button as well).
Did not need extra charger / battery. Sat it on charger all night with no change... So tonight when I came in tried one more time to put into download mode and it worked..
Tried connecting it to ODIN and it worked fully so installed Gingerbread stock and away the baby went.
Not sure root cause, but was not drivers.
Won't be installing ICS until it becomes more stable and does not put phones into boot mode without a simple way out.. (never say never though)
Cheers Anyway..
I had Android 4.0.3 (IceCream Sandwich) on my Galaxy S GT-I9000B (I did install it through Odin, nothing went wrong), but is was laggish (too much for it to handle, I think) and after a few months, I decided to roll it back to 2.3.3 (Gingerbread).
I started the process to install the firmware through Odin3 v1.85 - the file I download (from sammobile.com/firmware, had only one file that I used on the PDA space.
Odin recognized my phone and I started to install it, but after a while my phone was stuck on the downloading screen (2 hours of installation, I tought that something went wrong).
I then turned my phone off to try and install again, but when I turned it on, there were a Phone - exclamation mark - Computer Symbol.
I can get it to dowlonad mode (Volume Down+Home+Power), but when I plug it to the pc, it says "unknown device" and it can't find drivers for it.
I think I have the latest drivers from Samsung (I had from Kies and I re-downloaded a file somewhere from this forum named SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_1_5_6_0.exe).
It appears that since windows can't install the drivers, Odin doesn't recognize the device - it was recognizing it before, when I was installing the firmware.
Now I'm stuck - I tried anything I saw in this forum and in other places - I did even pray for a miracle, but it didn't work
I know that there must be a way, but I don't know how.
Before I forget, I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
If you can get it in download mode everything should be fine, I've had a problem like this, my pc couldn't see the phone in download no matter what. Try to use another USB port, better another PC. Also I've heard that x64 doesn't get along well with Odin. If possible you can try Linux and Heimdall, after all Android is Linux too.

Ok, k4Z3666, has given you a starting point...the phone is still in download mode but without a booting ROM, so its OK, the problem is your PC, USB cable or USB port. If you want to be quick about it, just try on a lap top..if not a simple Reboot of PC ( after removing power cord) and Phone (after a battery Pull), and a switch to a different USB port at the back of PC can solve this for some...for other solutions try these http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571 anything else you may need can be found on My Android collections., link below

I tried other USB Ports and also rebooting. It was working just fine - it seems like a driver problem to me.
My notebook is dead, but I'll try using someone else computer.
Does Odin runs in Windows XP? I might try it in my virtual box - I doubt that it will work, but it is the best thing I have to do untill tomorrow.
I got it working in my mother's notebook - should I try something different? I only have the PDA, should I try a PIT?
I don't know what those do, but I read somewhere that PIT is used to recover bricked phones.
EDIT: I installed only the PDA, it worked fine on the 2nd time (first time, it got stuck but I could make it work changing the usb port and cable).
Now it is on loop - it repeats the samsung logo over and over again. Any ideas now?

Opps..you got an i900B, so make sure you are only using I9000B ROMS as i9000 is not compatible with your phone

Yep if u want to back to stock u need pit file because ICS use different system file
Why u don't like ICS ? Its way better and faster than sammy ROM even its more stable , I think u should try it again with devil kernel with oc to 1.2 it will fly u can add some live oc which will give more fluidity

I used a firmware from my country (available here: sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9000B&pcode=ZTO&os=1&type=1#firmware) and I wiped the cache (I'm not sure what this means, but I believe it is the 2 options on volume up+menu+power)

ICS wasn't faster here - it was laggish and always crashed some common apps (gallery, music player). I believe that the firmware wasn't completely "done" as it was being adapted from another version (my phone is brazilian) and some functionalities that it has (i.e. digital TV) wasn't available.
What I done to correct the boot was simple (I found a tutorial in a brazilian site, so it had all the roms that I needed).
1) Used a PIT and a stock rom to get it back to factory version;
2) Upgraded to Froyo (original) - That was kind of a mistake, the tutorial said to do it because then KIES would update it automatically to Gingerbread. The phone was fully functional, but KIES said that it couldn't update it (it recognized the phone and everything).
The tutorial stoped there, but since I had the ROM, I used Odin to install Gingerbread (the one that was looping) and it was done.
Now I need to remember how to root it because there are some dumb apps who can't get away (i.e. Orkut app, some demo games).
Thank you all for the help!

From recovery you can always try to flash another kernel, that would probably resolve things too. Anyways the problem's solved, glad to help
hi guys, i'm new here, but i follow your forum since forever, so i hope i'm going to find an answer here.
2 days ago i was at my computer, and i didn't realize my gear battery was almost dead. when i looked at my watch to see the time, i realized it was off, so i used my charger, but i noticed it wasn't working. thing is, i haven't been able to turn it on again since. it tried everything i've found on the internet: another cable, remove the internal battery, charge it with a computer, try a soft reset, but nothing worked. i even tried to press the power button while charging, but that didn't work either. its only glimpse of life happens when i connect it to my computer, and windows rings the jingle to tell me that something has been connected to it, but nothing appears, not even in the device manager. i've even downloaded a software in which you can see the history of devices connected to the computer, but it's so fast, that it doesn't leave a trace, just the jingle, and only the connection one, because when i disconnect it, there's no jingle, or better it's rare that it happens. so, before i take it tomorrow to a samsung center, i'd like to try everything i can to solve the situation myself, that's why i asked you. i really hope you'll be able to help me, because i'm quite desperate...i've contacted samsung via email, but i haven't received an answer, i tried the samsung online chat service, but no one picked up... i've read that the battery is too drained to charge again, so it takes time and a lot of luck, but the gears i've read about have been left off for weeks before this problem, while mine has been off for just about an hour. i don't know what to do the revive it...
I woke up to the same problem yesterday. I have tried most of the tricks and none have worked. I don't really want to open it up but might have to.
May i help u?

NOT EXACTLY BUT IT WORKS SOMETIME..
1.DOWNLOAD SHUAME
2. INSTALL AND REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER.
3.DISABLE ANY ANTI VIRUSE AND FIREWALL , OPEN SHUAME
4.BYPASS THE DIALOGS AND LEAVE SHUAME SEARCH FOR DEVICES OR IT WILL SAY NO DEVICE CONNECTED.
5. NOW CONNECT YOUR DEVICE USING USB,(WHILE PRESSING POWER+DOWN)
IF NOTHING HAPPEN TRY POWER+OTHER COMBINATIONS LIKE UP BUTTON ETC.
YOUR DEVICE WILL START IF NOT LOOK FOR SHUAME WINDOW..
Please HIT thanks if I helped.
Ok I'll try, even though you might know the gear has only the power button... right now everything is worth a try, since I can't take it to a samsung city point, because they're about to close for summer, so they would give it back in September...if I can make it work until then, it's better.
i've downloaded shuame, but it's called rootgenius, but i can't do anything because it's waiting for a connected device, and it has to be on and with the usb debugging mode on, which i can't enable since it won't power on.... i tried to disassemble it and leave it open for a while, then reassemble it, but there was no use... any other suggestion?
When you took the gear apart did you fully remove the battery from the gear?
yes, fully removed. i did exactly what the guy in the youtube video "Inside the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart Watch. Tear Down, Fix, and Repair."... now i'm trying to leave it connected to the computer, it's about a day and a half now, but nothing yet... i just don't understand why my laptop recognizes the connection of the device, but nothing more...
no suggestions at all, guys?
I have a dead gear too. I'm my case somehow the bootloader got deleted during a gear manager update and won't turn on now. When I hook it up to the PC I get the SEC S5PC210 Test B/D which tells me the device still works but I'm unsure how to get a bootloader back on there. I was on null23. I'm wondering if your issue is the same.
When I had initially updated the gear manager I went to factory reset my gear and couldn't get it to go into recovery which should have clued me into my problem.
Lucky for me my brother in law just got a gear live and gave me his gear1.
tabPRO8.4
ok, i've kinda lost you. i googled the SEC S5PC210 Test B/D but i wasn't able to understand what it is, the only thing i was able to find was an xda page in which someone suggested to download the samsung usb drivers, which i've found out i already had... i don't know whether it could be a possibility that my gear has just erased the bootloader, since it just went dead due to the battery level, and there was no gear manager update that day, i updated 2 days before then. i don't know... the fact that my computer recognizes a connected device should mean that it still works, but i can't understand why it simply doesn't power on and why it is recognized just at the connection, but it's not seen when disconnected. it makes no sense actually... there must be a way to solve this, i really don't believe that samsung just substitute every gear that won't power on, it would turn into a huge waste of gears...
I'm in the same boat; getting the SEC S5PC210. Thought it was the battery; pulled it apart and checked voltages and it seemed fine. Tried like 4 different cables and nothing.

For this error any solution. I can't connect on pc via wireless because I recive error that is blocked. Work only USB connection , I tried but I recived error that don't have driver for connected with USB. How can solve that ?
