Fota Update Modem AFTER phone fell in water

Hello all.
I have a Cricket Kyocera Zio M600 phone and it fell into water today, I immediately took it out, wiped it down and did the stupid thing that you're NOT supposed to do after a phone gets wet and turned it back on and it was working fine for about 4 hours. My buttons started acting up on me so I turned the phone off however, when I turn it back on it automatically goes to a black screen and says "FOTA update modem...0............................100%" and flashes on and off with that same message. Is the phone broke or is there something I can do to fix it?
I recommend running the leaked cricket Zio 2.2.1 windows updater.

yes, but before doing that pull the battery and let the phone dry out for 48 hours, from what you described it seems like the water inside of it may be shorting out the buttons and is causing it to go into Modem download mode.
Yeah, definitely let that thing dry... get a Ziploc bag and put your phone in there with enough rice so that the phone is buried in the rice. It will draw most of the moisture out of the phone within about a day.

I recommend using silica crystals, it's used as the good kinds of kitty litter (think PetCo), and the same exact sold at high-end phone stores for exactly this kind of thing, albiet for 5x more.

Did you let it dry out either in in a bag with some rice or with desiccant? Works quite well.
Otherwise, I have put the oven on low and put it in there (on something) or in a dehydrator. Just be sure to remove the battery first.
If there's any moisture still in it, it likely is shorting it out.
Are the water stickers red? You could always warranty it if not.

Just thought i would share a really hopefull story... my sister had a samsung jack windows mobile phone... she went swimming for 10 min before she realized it was in her pocket... hadnt taken it apart or turned it off or anything... got home and everything minus two keyboard buttons was functional... you could see water sloshing back and forth in the screen and it was fine... finally put it in rice and it dried out and still worked fine... another friend uses it now.... haha... there is still hope.. haha

[Q] My lg 4x hd soaking wet come back to life with a problem

Hello everyone , i'm watching your site for long time. You are doing great job. Anyway , my phone gets soaking wet. After one week i press the power button to open my phone.Everything works perfect except home button, back button and properties button are light up all the time , even when the phone is off. I put some pictures to see what's going on . I hope you have a solution , thank you in advance(sorry for my english)
Once they turn off when you disable them in settings, might be a software problem. You tried to flash it with other version? The problem remains?

Thank you for your response. The only the thing I did it's factory data reset, and but the problem still there.

If I well understood, it got wet... try to take out the battery and leave it open under the sunlight time enough to be dry for sure. Unless you want to open it...

You should open you phone and make sure there is no water left in side.I suggest you take your phone to a repair service. They'll know what to do. I once dropped my phone into water and tried to fix it myself. The result is the 3G ,GPS didn't work anymore and after about a month, the phone died
thank you guys for your answers . I let my phone to dry well and it seen to be okay.

bad battery or board

i think its a bad board but anyway i was filming a video for some freinds at a local football game and it was hot day and had the screen on full brightness and set it not to turn off and was directly in the sunlight battery life is terrible and phone runs hotter than what it used to see ive flashed back to the stock firmware shipping it back to att but i need a phone do you think it would be okay to use it with a messed up battery/board dont want to die
I read this extra quickly because you used no punctuation.
You're not going to die.
You could have easily fried your board. Were you using an overclock kernel like arrrghhh's?

no i was using pac 4.2.2m1 with the normal kernal
Did you open it up and check things out?

[Q] Unable to recharge

After my watch shut itself down in the night, because it ran out of juice, I can't charge it anymore.
I put it on the craddle and it shows the white battery symbol for a second after ist crashes and the screen turns black again. This happens over and over again.
It seems that the watch wastes that little power it has gained while the screen was off when it tries to show the white (and therefore power draining) charging symbol.
How can I save my watch? Please help me.
Greetings and thanks in advance

Mine was sent to LG now. A week later it came back and they said it had a Walter damage and they will not repair or replace it.
I can not accept this. This watch is advertised as waterresistant. I did not even shower with the watch. It is just about a half year old.
Shame on you LG
