So I cracked the screen on my trusty cappy yesterday while at work..have ins, so made a claim. Got it today and have ten days to return the one with the cracked screen. I know I should flash it back to stock, but my laptop is all jacked up right now...

If you can get it to flash back to stock I would try that because not having stock would void warranty even if it is software...if cant I would try flashing cognition 4.0 or older cuase it looks close to stock.

I'm going to try to make a cwm flashable backup from stock cuase are that happen to alot of people, so I'll let y'all know by tomorrow
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Use this cwm file to flash back to jh7 and all will be good
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790080&highlight=JH7_OTA
Also get a reliable computer...
Especially if you're going to be messing with your phone. It is very likely that something could happen and the only way to fix it would be to connect to a pc and use odin/heimdall

If you have not Flashed anything then yes. 30 days in store past that warranty exchange. If you have flashes roms then you may want to flash stock with odin and start fresh
Captivate
Cog 2.2
Its still a stock phone and the damn thing keeps shutting down

Take it back, and keep taking it back until you get one that doesn't shut down.

No reason to keep that phone then. That is not normal behavior.

Return it....I did and my phone e has not shut off once

My phone was originally doing the same thing until I flashed Cognition - then the issue went away. Seems these phones are really finicky on how software is loaded onto the phone - even the stock ROM.
But.. if your within 30 days.. no sense not to exchange it for one that won't shutdown.
Hellow , im sending my phone in due to my speaker, going in and out. I assume I just flash back to stock. But is that, the only thing I need to do? Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Stock, master clear, should be fine do not over estimate the knowledge of the people who work at at&t
at&t guys dont even really check out the firmware and stuffs like that if its just a speaker replacement or something like that. just flash back to stock, master clear, and wait forever to get your phone back.
guess I should have told u that I'm sending to samsung... Does that matter?

when you flash back to stock and do the master clear, you should be good enough.
Thanks for the reply everyone.

well samsung has sent my phone back, it is in transit, they said they replaced the speaker. just thought i would give an update. i should get it wed.
Finally after 3 Amoled screen phones prior to this one, I have my first ever case of "burn in." shows up kinda purple/pink on white backgrounds. Off to Samsung customer service chat I go.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium
I've had a repair center tell me they will swap out a refurb for it.
Samsung just gave me a number to call during the week. Will stop by a repair center tomorrow.
Would they be bothered with it being rooted? I had a few screens on my evo replaced under warranty and was on MIUI both times and they said nothing.

Not really but I would go back to stock just to be safe.

I agree. Put it completely back to stock so your chances of them saying they refuse to replace it because you rooted and put a custom ROM on it are virtually zero. Don't give them any excuse to say no because you're too lazy to put it back to 100% stock. Make sure you do a factory full reset after PC Odin back to stock and remove your SD card before bringing it in. Better to be safe than sorry.

by using ROM tool box (by Jrummy) it’s an awesome app but I decided to play around with the custom font option and when I tried to install another custom font it decided to reboot my phone to the LG logo and from there the screen goes black with the little indicator light on the upper right of the phone flashing multiple colors.
Fixes that i have attempted to apply where:
-multiple reboots nothing happened same results
-let the battery drain out of the phone then let it charge for a bit and restart it with no luck
-go into recovery mode to clear partition and reboot, but no luck
-go into recovery mode and apply factory reset but no luck
At the end of all these attempts I continue to get the LG LOGO and after that has played out i get a black screen with my notification indicator flashing multiple different colors.
I bet if I had an unlocked boot loader with a custom recovery I wouldn't be in this situation right now. Now I have to go thru hyelton Guide on how to revert back to Stock Firmware, and to my new-bish eyes it doesn't look easy.
Hyelton method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644083
I’m glad I’m putting $10 towards the bounty, but if I was in a better financial situation I would most definitely put in a $100
Damn sorry to hear that man!!!!!
We need more donations people !!!!!
We probably don't. It sounds like they already have this accomplished and are polishing it up still.

I just went through the process. I had a soft brick last night from a build.Prop edit couldn't fix it until just now. LG made it tougher, but not horrible. Follow the guide step by step and if you need help post in that thread I'll subscribe to it or pm me, don't want to clutter up this thread.
By the way great to hear a solution is in sight. Remember when this happens, dint take any otas.... Like ever afterwards.

So far I was told loki is comming
Ok so I had my Note 3 battery completely drain and now am soft bricked and it freezes at ATT logo.
note 3
ATT
rooted on 4.3 JB
titanium backup installed
I have tried everything to no avail. Reflashing, factory reset, everything and am completely lost. I tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715 , but the microsoft visual stuff would never install??
I have owned iphones for 5 years and recently switched to droid again. I am 7/10 on a technical scale with computers. Any and all help is greatly appreciated as I am stuck with a paper weight for now.
Anyone? Please?

They might if they see it is rooted. Due to liability
But these guys aren't exactly high end technicians with high paying jobs just normal people say please and explain they can't make it worse.

Wow. Tricky one right there. Usually a stock firmware flash would do it. Anything else that you've done to your phone before the battery went dry ?
