TIP: Fastboot driver issues? Try these drivers! - GT540 Optimus Android Development

So, I had some trouble with fastboot/adb drivers in the Android SDK. I found out this cool hint in an old post from an old xda thread in another phone section. Thought this deserved a separate thread.
If your having troubles with the Android SDK drivers for fastboot/adb, install these drivers.
http://www.junefabrics.com/android/download.php
They have a version for x64 as well. Here's your solution Windows 7-x64 users. =)

Android SDK
USB driver can also be installed via Android SDK (if you have it) and (if you didn't know)

Sorry but I can't stop laughing. Lol.
I mentioned it in the first sentence itself that this is an alternative. Lol

HTC One Windows Version

There is news the last couple of days surrounding an HTC One windows version.
Would it be a case of just flashing a package? dual boot would be cool!

But look at the HD2 you could have windows mobile, windows phone and android on that thing
An HTC one sold with android does not have a windows license. So flashing a windows rom onto it would be stealing/piracy.
That's not a technical barrier to making it happen; but most forums tend to frown on openly redistributing copyrighted material. If it happens it would probably be some tools released to make it possible, with you having to "find" the windows files elsewhere.

Oh... Well...still I'm sure xda will have no business with a windows port of it is closed source
A windows port if a similiar HTC one is released for that os will not happen. Everything down to the bootloaders and partition format will be different and locked. Hardware will probably be completely different in the inside to accommodate the hardware restrictions of WP.
A windows phone ruu contains the os, radio, spl, and carrier partitions. Porting something like that to android and it's 10+ partitions, no.
The HD2 has windows phone since it was a dev device. Right now wp7 runs off test drivers. Android works because DFT released a custom bootloader that loads after the HTC one so they can boot any system they want.
At any rate it would be the other way around. An android port for that device would be technically possible.

[Q] Linux root tool

Hi. So far all the root tools are for windows OS. I am using a linux distro and would like to avoid using Windows. Anyone know of a linux root tool that works?

The other way round works, I have Linux on a VM on my works laptop and everything works exactly the same as on my own dual boot Linux/windows laptop...
So maybe wine will work for you...try it

As expected it didn't work. Wine can't even open a program like vroot after install.

You could have installed one, rooted your phone and reinstalled Linux in far less time than this thread has been going...

I understand your situation, but I am sure you can see a friend with a windows install and root your phone on it, its a 10 second job and only a few scripts to download..

I understand, I am no windows fan, its just what I grew up with and I am turning to Linux more and more each day...but unfortunately windows have the monopoly on some people, so keeping a windows OS is still sensible to me

Ive rooted my phone with Windows 8 There is absolutely no threat of doing so. You just need to disable driver signing so that it can recognize them. Apart from that its the same as with windows 7.

Extract them and then point your device in Device Manager (windows) to /usb_driver/

Hmm I need to check this out so I download the new drivers and go through device manager manually attach drivers and apply it to the nexus 6? I got partial connectivity only connects as camera I got my boot loader unlocked but now not even cf auto root recognizes it in fast boot
Radio
"MDM9625_104446.01.02.98R_SHAMU_radio",
So I used this radio and it works really well with all carriers if using 5.1
