[Q] Phone won't call and get called - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I was on version 8.0 and installed version 10.1 (Darky)
After that i can't get called, the caller gets the voicemail and I get a message with a missed call.
I also can't call someboy else, it directly says: connection terminated.
I tried installing the resurrection edition, 9.2.... but still the same problem.
I also tried installing a stock rom, 2.3.4 AND 2.2 with odin... both don't work, even the CWM backup i made from darky's 8.0 has the same problem when i restore it
It looks like it goes wrong when I flashed from darky's 8.0 tot 10.1...
I used this guide: http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...-darkyrom-gingerbread-jvh-noob-friendly.3080/
But then the Dutch one...
What do i have to do... it's really annoying

[Q] With Darky's Rom 9.3 beta1 I can't receive calls anymore

Hi Folks,
yesterday I flashed my SGS (former stock 2.1) with Darkys Rom 9.3 beta1.
It seemed as everything is fine till today.
My wife tried to call me an I shortly saw her number, it vibrated shortly, the my SGS lost connect to the signal an the call was gone to the mailbox.
This happened all the time in 3G-Mode.
I tried it in GSM-Mode an an incoming call was not shown, it went directly to the mailbox without any signal at the phone.
My SGS doesn't even show who called, it's just all gone.
I don't know whats wrong.
I took a look in all the option they can be responsible for that an I didn't find anything that would say my phone to loose radio when a call comes in.
Maybe anyone has an idea and can help me.
Cheers,
Dirk
A Clue .
BETA = unfinished released for testing purposes so users can report back bugs .

you should flash back to 2.2.1 first as 9.3 is not for 2.1 its froyo based not eclair use 3 button combo and use odin to restore stock then again use odin to flash CF-Root-XX_XEU_JPY-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1.tar which works with XWJS5 which is latest rom then go to market download rom manager install cwm with this and trie again with darkys good luck
Ok, tried to flash the 9.2 first and the 9.3 beta1 after it and it didn't work.
I had to make a factory-reset to make it work again.
Now I'm flashing the 9.3 again.
Just in case anyone else has the same problems, it only works with a factory-reset.
Thanks to everybody who tried to help
Cheers,
Dirk

[Q] Identify my previous official ROM

Hi guys,
I'm sorry for my english...
I had a galaxy S i 9000 with froyo (I suppose).
I was trying tu update my phone with cyanogen or miui but now the phone is always on "NO SERVICE"...there's always no signal and I can't call or send sms or connect to internet by 3g.
I've tried
miui rom stable
miui rom developer
cyanogen nightly
cyanogen stable
but "NO SERVICE" is still here!
Now I'm trying to get back to my previous rom, the problem is that the only information that I have is this screenshot (I can't post it because I'm a new user...) that says "Versione firmware corrente: PDA:JM2 / PHONE:JM1 / CSC:JM2 (TMN)"
I suppose it's froyo but I'm not sure...
Searching with google seems that my galaxy is a portughese version!
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks a lot!
Same thing happened to me, try this for me:
Go into Settings -> About Phone -> Baseband Version
What does it say? I previously had this problem a few times because somehow my Baseband would get screwed up mostly from improper flashing.
I can suggest you flash one of the JVT stock roms and it should come back. That usually fixes it for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289875
Try this one and flash it via odin.
Well on baseband says I9000XXJVO...
Now I'm downloading the ROM you've linked, I hope to resolve!
Thank you!
Hmmm okay, well try and see if it works, hopefully it does
Doesn't work with the ROM you've linked...
I can't understand how to get out from this problem!
Bohoooooo!
Well no way to get out from this problem...
Now I will try every ROM I'm able to find... Am I right?

I have had this issue a few times coming from Stock roms to CM based roms such as MIUI and Cyanogenmod.
the solution i have found is to:
Install Stock and a decent Kernel.
wipe Data/Factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
install CM/MIUI
if still no signal/ and no IMEI shows in your phone settings try flashing a modem from CWM.
you can find a list of flashable Modems here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158783
Question?
Do you get "no Signal" when you flash a stock rom (Such as JVT)
STOCK Rom Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289875
if you dont get any signal with stock, have you tried flashing an earlier stock rom with an earlier modem?
sammobile.com has an extensive list of stock roms.
from what i can see there is a JM5 rom on there which may be the closest your going to get to your "Phone:JM5" modem.
hope that helps.
I solved the problem flashing a modem!
Thanks so much Danh2009!!!
Thank you everybody!

[Q] chinese words whenever calling

Whenever i try to call somebody using my sgn, chinese words appear, like GansuDingxi, underneath the number while in the process of calling or already connected to the call. Im using the kingdroid ics v2.0. I know it uses orig ics.basd not the leaked one, i also tried criskelo v3 previously and rocketrom v2 prev. It uses orig ics base for their roms. But still whenever i make call chinese words appears. I checked, and installed an orig ics for my region. We use LP9 here. I tried installing that. Rooted, And then when i made a call no chinese words appeared. My question is why is the custom roms we have here for ics has still chinese words whenever i make a call, but on a virgin original ics rom theres none? Can i also remove it? Its annoying.
Go to settings>calls and untick everything under phonenumber locator.

Cannot receive calls

i am having a problem with receiving calls. they do not come in. Been told that when someone calls me it rings once and then goes to voicemail.
i currently can receive data as i am able to browse internet, receive email and also text messaging works. I can make calls just fine. I have rebooted my phone, pulled battery and still same issue. Using safestrap 3.05. I was using icarus rom and switched back to Stock Rom. Still same issue. Even ran the factory reset on the stock rom.
