i always think about using my bluetooth headset for regular phone lines.. i did find two ways but none of them worked:
1- a pc software that will enable headset profile on pc so i can use my jabra with my pc but this wont solve the program because the software which i found is not stable+ ive never found a modem which would enable using windows sound system to make a "real" phone calls
2- jabra offers an adapter for bluetooth headsets.. this adapter can connect with "any" blutooth headset and converts what it receives to regular 2.5mm jack...
so if i can find any adapter that would change the 2.5mm jack to regular 3.5mm jackS then i can use any bluetooth headset with speakerphone jacks in my modem....
the problem is that i couldnt find such an adapter.. put in mind is that 2.5mm is not ordinary 2.5mm.. it has one line for mono headphones and anothet for mic.. so i need an adapter that would change this to TWO separate jacks one for mic and one for headphones...
if someone heard of such adapter please help me..
i tried to make my own adapter but i couldnt find the right tools in local stores here...
USB-Dongle?
Hi Mephistodan,
won't a Bluetooth USB Dongle with headset profile solve your problem?
Unfortunately I don't have such a Dongle myself, but heard of several people who use these for sound input/output.
If you combine these with your 'softphone', it should do the job.
cheers,
madcap

I know that radio shack in the US sells a splitter like that. It was made for multimedia where it requires a seperate plug for mic and speaker. I have one that I picked up a while ago when I was using a headset on my pc for ip phone. I had to have seperate plug for mic and heaset then, this might work for you.
In looking real quick found this...
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog_name=CTLG&product_id=42-2428
Hope that helps
i dont belive that radioshack is in europe
but there are plenty of smaller chains which would prob
have the same products

do you know of any software or and modem that enables using windows sound system for making real full duplex phone calls on regular phone line???
Radioshock in the UK is called Tandy, I have no idea why they decided to rename it though, they carry the same product range as the USA's Radioshack
to let you know there is "land line" plones out there that have bluetooth some are just base station type things some are full phones

Hi Mephistodan,
no, sorry didn't have the time for the real important stuff, yet
I'd like to do what you are doing now with Cisco's IP Softphone (I know it's not a regular phone line).
Additionally, I found this @ geek.com:
http://www.geek.com/news/geeknews/2004Jan/bpd20040126023599.htm
Don't know if it is out yet, and what they charge for this gimmick...
OK, one should open up the eyes and READ closely
These thingy's cost a lot - like you said in your post before....
cheers

Hello my diamonds
I wanted to ask if you know a possibility to phone via the laptop with the diamond using the phone´s simcard.
I´ve already got software that makes me able to send and recieve sms, so it should be possible, shouldn´t it ?
My laptop has a microphone and (oh wonder!) speakers and phoning via laptop would be very comfortable because then i wouldn´t need to use my headset all the time.
thank you in advance, kind regards,
Sklimpel
btw: the search function didn´t help me and sorry for my bad english...
certain bluetooth software allows you to connect ur phone via bluetooth.
You can then use ur com to talk and listen
Hey guys,
I installed rom of wm 6.1. Now I commute a lot and I used to hook up my phone with the bluetooth enabled sterio in my car, after installing this new rom I'm having problems using the bluetooth. I'd manage to pair it with my sterio but if I end a call it would drop the bluetooth connectivity with the sterio. Sometimes it wont even connect to the sterio/ not detect it. The rom already has bluetooth explorer(which I'm not familiar with). Any ideas suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi, I've been searching if there's any app for using an android phone as a headset when paired to a computer. That would be useful for using a phone when talking with Skype on a computer since Android's Skype doesn't allow IP calls.
Thanks!
This is something I would be very interested in as well. I always figured it would involve adding the device as a bluetooth audio device... but it has never worked out for me. I guess you need the bluetooth on the phone to know what it is supposed to do (maybe an app or something.)
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
Any news?

Here's a superior solution:
ditch the inferior Skrap and use a proper SIP provider for VoIP. The application you are looking for to use this is SIPDROID.
Hello,
When I use my headset/headphones for anything on my phone it works perfectly.
If I make or receive a call it disables the headset/headphones and reverts to handset, as if the headphones are not even plugged in.
I have to unplug them then plug them back in to make them work but still doesnt work for for calls even though the phone detects there is a headset.
The phone is rooted but its had its root for months and this problem is new.
I am going to remove root tonight and factory reset, but I would like to avoid this.
Could of got a virus always downloading indie apps and stuff via the net. But I do have virus scanner to.

Hey guys,
i do have the same problem as the threadopener. I can hear music with my headset, but when i want to make a call or a call is coming in, the headset gets kind of plugged out by the software. When i finished the call i need to plug it physically out and back in first, to be able to listen to music again over the phones.
I'm using Virginity V6 (i8190) and a "beats by dre"-headset. Is there any chance, to make it work?
Thx in advance
