Hi folks,
Recently flashed my Omnia 7 to the generic retail UK rom to get rid of the T-Mobile splash screen and search.
Trouble is, I have lost the 3G toggle option.
I have the option to toggle 3G data, but not the cell.
Any ideas? Is the T-Mo UK rom the only one that can switch between 2G and 3G?

That's for 3G data, not cell. Like I said in my thread post. *Facepalm*

I don't think it's possible without homebrew unfortunately. It's controlled by a registry setting, which there is no way to modify without a homebrew program of some sort.
Edit - If you don't mind having to use an ugly GUI then you could try this to toggle 2g/3g (doesn't require DEV unlock):
Go into diagnosis (##634#)
Enter code *#2263#

LTE OnOff in the market, dials into the support menu (or whatever it's called) where you can change the radio. A bit of a pain, but better then having a dead battery 6 hours into your day.
This doesn't work on the Droid 4, the only option is to turn off the radio entirely.

Works for me just fine. It's not a widget, just a short cut. Select the drop down arrow about half the way down to see the different bands.

I'm not real up on the ICS leaks, I am still running GB, but I dl'd "4g toggle" from the market and it works awesome.
Thanks, I didn't see there was a menu there.

Thx for this thread I've been trying to figure out how to disable 4g. I downloaded the 4g toggle but it just links me back to my original choices of global gsm or lte/cdma. Any further ideas?

You need lte onoff as I stated earlier. Motorola has seen fit to remove the option in settngs to run on cdma only. the app I listed takes you into a support menu allowing you to select the bands through a drop down.
Widgets will most likely not work as the setting is in the framework and is not easily changed.

Works perfectly! Many thanks:good:
So I have been playing around with the LTEOnOff and was wondering if there was any information on the different types of radio's we can choose from.
EDIT:Since I poster this I found a neat webpage with a lot of information about the different radio signals.

Anyone know of any apps for WP8 that can keep track of my data usage?
Data Sense is a Verizon exclusive that does that on WP8, rumor is that it will only be on Verizon for a few months before every carrier will have access to it.
I dont know of any 3rd party app that can accuratly monitor data usage.
I'm glad I picked up my phone off contract on Verizon, so I dont even use the Data Sense app but, there is no hacks for WP8 yet, so I could not even extract a XAP from it or anything....YET.
thanks.. hopefully someone will release it soon

There is only datasence available for those careers who have enabled it. A 3rd party app has not the capabilities to monitor the data usage of the whole system.
We have to wait if with the gdr2 update other carriers where unlocked

Yeah nothing here. It does seem to be integrated into my 928, as I can't uninstall it and can only pin the app. Also it seems that Verizon's account app/data sense should be able to access how much data has been used from the carrier to show how much data is left. Also it seems that Data Sense will actually leak over the limit. All it does is stop all background data until its either changed or it passes the date set. It doesn't disable data entirely, as is my preference or isn't even an option.
I'm also waiting for INTEROP or something of the like as there isn't any point for having my dev unlock at the moment.

Here is what i gathered so far
Data Sense
IE - Reduce data by sending url,..
Limited WiFi data on/off (when the connection is limited the phone will use data connection)
find nearby (map with data sense)
camera default app option - to choose which app will start when using the camera button
fm wasn't activated - it looks like it doesnt even have an built-in FM radio receiver
one note + button pinable (saw that one one today @wpcentral) and indeed it's there
phne storage - other -- im already at 1.10Gb of data there, 14 days of using gdr
some screens

After doing this, you were able to see "3G" or "H" when you activate data? I think even in 3G, sprint htc m8 shows G only... There's an app called "4G switch" on playstore I use to switch modes. It's red icon with switch symbol. And it doesn't require root. Works on stock rom.

Use anyone of your choice man. Wcdma is 3g, GSM is 2g.
Just upgrade to Marshmallow, you'll get HSPDA - no more EDGE... Drawback is you'll lose native Hotspot functionality; I don't know why but the feature disappears once you upgrade...
Hi y'all,
I'm on a ROM that has issues with LTE - basically audio fails if I answer a call while I'm on 4G. So I want to set up a Tasker profile that toggles off 4G when a call comes in, and turns it back on when I hang up or the call otherwise ends. My ROM (Liquid Remix for ZTE Axon 7, based on Lineage 16) has a LTE toggle in Quick Settings, but the Secure Settings plugin doesn't want to work.
Any ideas?
PS This issue exists on every Pie ROM I've tried, so I can't just switch to a different ROM.

The secure settings plugin works - just not the LTE action. It says "A CM9/AOKP ROM and an LTE radio are required to use this feature." Something in my ROM must be incompatible... or maybe I've got an out-of-date version of the app?

You can try with shortcut master app , you can access many hidden settings this way
Shortcut Master cannot provide access to most of the interesting codes since an Oreo update approximately a year ago...

If what this app does is what you're looking for, then I'm not sure what the problem is, because on my device I have a setting to lock the network to LTE/3G/2G (auto conenct); 3G/2G (auto connect); 3G only; and 2G only. I'm not sure what more you want.

I'm sorry i should've been more clear and precise. I was looking for the hidden activity called Hidden Network Settings that was present in Oreo. By using that i was able to lock my phone to specific Network Bands like B40 or B5 or multiple specific bands.
However in PIE that hidden activity is not present, i did go through all of them one by one.
Thanks for your help guys
Hi there , I've been searching for topics like this in the past three hours to share the way I did to make Hidden Network settings work on pie.
Here's what I have done. Well it may not work for you if you're not rooted but I believe that there's another simpler way than mine
First. I have downloaded hidden network settings.apk from apk mirror the last update which is on 31-03-2019
Second I have installed it using Lucky Patcher
Rebuild & Install > Navigate to the path where you downloaded Hidden Network settings > Install it as a system app ( integrate app to system ) > Reboot
Please let me know if it worked out for you

I rooted my phone and installed the Hidden Network Settings app from OREO stock rom in PIE as system app
Just pushed the app in system apps directory with the right permissions
I am now able to lock network bands.
However it only works in rooted cases.
I wasnt able to do anything in stock unrooted rom
Is there a similar hidden menu that I can access to fix my GPS? It only works when I'm stationary, and VERY slow to update when I'm driving. The most annoying issue is that any APP like Google Maps is oriented 90 degrees in a different direction whenever I place it in "compass" mode (even when moving). I've done the figure-8 calibration numerous times whenever prompted, but it doesn't help.
