I installed this rom few days ago. And when i look at battery stats i see android os 90+%, screen 2%, internet 2%....
Why? My Battery holds for 12-13 hours and I think That's OK ... but why are battery stats incorrect ?
I don't use taskkiller, oc to 1.4, yesterday I deleted some system apps in order to bring this down but no improvement ...
I deleted sns services , feeds and something widget, samsung update, samsung kies services ...
But android os in battery stats remains the same..

This was a bug/defect in JQ1,the Italian Gingerbread from which Overcome was based. It has since been corrected on the latest Asian gingerbread. On my gt the display is now top of the battery stats while android OS at the bottom.

So which custom rom doesn't have this bug? I did some research and everybody are giving their praises to overcome ...
Does battery last longer on rom that doesn't have this bug?

Hi all, does the latest version stop the android os using up all the battery? ie does the phone now close down progs hat use 3D correctly? Cheers
Seems no, it looks like the issue exist (at last i got it on clean flashed rom)
Android does not have a battery drain issue per se.
Some users have a battery draining issue .

You need to give more info then that.
What version of rom you using?
Which kernel/version you using?
What apps have you installed?
Do you use wifi/gps?
Did you use search before creating topic?
btw, you dont need to manually type [q] in your title. "[Q]" automatically gets added when you enable the "Is this a question" feature when creating topic.

i'v 144 Apps .. neither the widgets .. do you want me to name it all .. idk someone did that before right .. btw i don't use the Tab during am writing this comment but its still sucks the battery ..
and yes i use WIFI .
overcome tell us the solution for the battery life . but the solution didn't work with me
anyways thanks for ur reply .
btw i didn't type [q] i just thick the ' Is this a question ' ... tnx for your advice ..
I have actually noticed a decline in battery life since I flashed to Overcome. In the few days, before I flashed my tab, I could idle the tab for 10 hours and use like 2% battery. After flashing overcome, I cant get no where near that idle time, and I get just under 10% per hour full usage (games or video playback).
I'm using Overcome 1.6.1, no live backgrounds, and somewhere around 85 apps.

Strange, Ive never had a battery issue on any of the builds, even when overclocked. Its got to be something you have installed and running in background.
Go to settings>phone>about>battery use and it will tell you what using most battery. There is also programs like SystemPanel or Taskkiller etc.
If the [Q] wasn't capitalised then you must have tried to title your topic all i capitals so site reversed it, next time title topics properly

1st of all . the battery charges take so many time to charge full even though if its 95 its take around 15 to 20 mins to full charge .. and when i take the charge it give 99 even if its says the charge full ..
if my tab is off screen its also suck my battery life seriously .. i don't use live wallpaper i only use a normal image .. i don't know what is the problem .. am really thinking to replace overcome .. the prob is i like overcome even if it doesn't support arabic
any ideas
I never got any problems with the battery life in all Overcome roms.
Currently i use Overcome 1.6.1 with 2.1.4 kernel and battery life is good.
Idle overnight with WiFi enabled it uses 6%
Idle overnight with my dataplan it uses 3% and idle time is approx 12 hours.
In the idle time i have my Gmail synced, twitter, weather ect
In full use and full display light i can use my Tab for approx 6 hours.
I have to mention that my Tab is not Oc-ed

i'll do again wipe battery status and see .. this is the 4th time i'll do the wipe for battery .... i don't know what is the prob
so i wipe the battery but nothing happen .. so i just backup all the stuff ... going to re flash again
wipe data , wipe factory reset ...
flash again the rom and the kernel ...
.... i hate my tab cuz every week something new need to flash need to wipe need to reset
EDIT .. flashed again with wipe factory and factory rest and nothing happen after i flashed the kernel and the rom
My battery seems to drain fast too
I updated to Kernel 2.15 and Overcome 1.63 last night. It seems to drain 1% every 1.5-2 minutes when I use it with WIFI and 3G on. It drained 6% last night over 6 hours on standby mode (after I shortly pressed the power key).

I know there are some Gallery issues which drains your battery after using it.
But other then that i think some people expecting to much to fast to see some battery life progress on custom roms.
On the first fresh install i had also a drain.
You have to be aware that after a fresh rom install you have to let the battery settle for a couple off charges.
Yesterday i also took a complete reinstall by the guide provided in the Overcome thread.
I did this because i have some issues with FC's on receiving gmails.
After that fresh install and restoring my apps ect.
I went playing with it, first i did 2 hours of surfing over wifi.
Later playing Black Pegasus Modern Combat for 3 hours.
I started of with 67% battery and didn't have the battery calibrated
So after 5 hours of heavy use the Galaxy Tab battery was empty.
This morning i calibrated the battery.
And after a full cycle charge in 2 hours i didn't touch my Tab at all.
After 4 hours i still have 97% battery left.
It is common that when you take your from the charger it instantly drops to 99% (No worry)
So 2% lost in 4 hours in idle standby with 3g on and syncing XDA app every 15min, Twitter every 5 min, email every 30min, Gmail (Push), weather every hour.
I think it's battery life is great.
Beware the screen of our Tab's are using a great deal of battery life.
Even 50% brightness sucks your battery empty.
I have it set on 30% which is good for use in the evening.
Daytime and sunlight it sucks at 30% but since i never use my Tab outside it will work for me.
Hello!
I cant imagine that the battery is draining because of overcome rom or kernel. Since i flashed it my battery life is suprisingly good, even when overclocked!

Same here...
I know there is a Gallary 3d issue when using it your battery is draining.
Alterbridge is working on that.
If people followed the flash and battery calibrate guide Overcome should have a nice battery life.
I don't know what apps people are using at the moment but it could be an app which is poorly written.
guys im flashing overcome even before the guide posted ...
and about the live wallpaper .. i don't use it .. because i use a honeycomb theme
and about the calibrate of the battery i already did it many times from overcome guide or even from the apps in market .. i knw wat am doing .. i never get on in something that i don't know wat exactly means ...
cheers
Dear all,
I just upgraded my tab into overcome 3.1 from my initial GB 2.3 . The reason why i started to discover some issue on my batt usage is within 2hrs it will take off 20% of my batt when i fully charged in the morning.
After which i check on my application - batt use - it show "display" is at 92% on the top and android system is at 2% at the bottom. Whereby when i use GB 2.3 rom, it will show andoid system is at 80~90% and display is at the bottom of 3%.
(Note: i have even set my display to the lowest and set it to Auto mode, some of the un use application i also shut down)
I have started to think should i change back to GB 2.3 or is there any brother outside can advise what should i do to change this situation. Hope someone can help me on this ..... Thanks in advance.

dear all, after further confirmed, my colleagues also having the same problem as my, I was wonder is there a bug in this version as em not sure why the consumption of the battery was so high after installing overcome 3.1
First of all, old ROM had a bug, battery usage was displayed wrong. That is fixed, but they are now working on R2 version of kernel (Reverted lowmemkiller change which may have been blocking kswapd0 from sleeping, resulting in battery leakage).
This last kernel has a new ROM as it's base, so you have to install new ROM first and then full wipe version of kernel.
Good to hear I am not the only one.
Hermes was an awesome rom concerning battery stamina. I hope the guys from Overcome will make this R2 release just as good.

The latest version of the overcome kernel is pretty good on battery life for me.. the only thing that seems to be wrong is the reported charge level against the battery display level..
Even after calibration its still way off (20%)..

i think you need to perform a "wipe on batt" in cwm maybe can help. Anyway i also discover that my tap below 4 buttons occasionally the light will be blinking on and off during at the standby mode, i belived this also can cus some batt drain off too. Anyway, most of the people are concerning about batt duration especially devise such as non-detachable batt. For me, i use my tap outside most of the time especially during business trip hangging in the train station or airport.... Well, i think we appreciate the overcome team and the rest of you guys to test it out and gain feedback for improment.... cheerss... and Selamat Hari Raya to all muslim people ya.
did you try the tweaks here re: Battery Recalibration and Reconditioning…
http://p1000.teamovercome.net/?page_id=68
and do note that:
battery wipe by itself would not immediately “improve” your battery life. IN FACT, during the first charge cycle after a battery wipe, you might notice a slightly less than optimal battery-life! This is because, the stats have to be rebuilt, which is why after a couple of FULL charge cycles after the battery wipe, when the stats are properly “repopulated”, which is when you’ll see the difference.

yes, i have did that after going through the forum, and today is a second day after the wipe, but i would recognized that if you put the tab in Normal stanby mode, the batt will drop about 1% in about 4hrs since i have started to monitor this morning... well, i will continue to monitor aand post it again. thanks for your advise.
my one on overcome 3.3.1 seems to last at least 1 hr when the battery notification show 0!!!
I have tested my second days after batt wipe, it seem that if we put at standby mode the batt really better then earlier versions, i can notice that last night was 26% at 2.30am and this morning waikup at 7.15am, the batt indicate 24%. (Note : my wifi is on, except BT and GPS is off).
My conclusion for now is that the OC 3.1 batt life is ok and even better when it was in standby mode, however whenever any application for example browsing internet or starting reading news, the batt will start to drain off like 1% every 3min (my estimation point of view).
Hope the OC team can help to improve from here OR the nature of this OC 3.1 is normal on this circumstanses. Cheerssss....

Camera calibration doesn't work as in it doesn't do anything to improve your battery life.
The only way to improve battery life is to use apps that don't sync constantly, use a ROM that doesn't drain your battery and don't use Facebook or similar as they run in the background constantly and try to update which of course "eats" your battery (or at least disable their update feature).
Bt in respct of bttry wich is bettr..zeus or marvel??
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA
I never used Marvell so i can't say which is better (in battery life).
I do know that for me, with normal use (and most updates for apps disabled or set th update less often, for example every 3-4 hours instead of 15-30 minutes), with Zeus 6.22 and normal usage i get about 1.5-2 days of use with one charge.
I tried Cyanogen 7 and with that i never managed to get 1 day or more of use, only about 18-20 hours from 1 charge, didn't play with Cyanogen 9 (ICS) since it's not stable yet.
You could of course try them out yourself and see which you like more.
For example install one of them, then make a backup (from the Clockworkmod (CWM) recovery), after that try the other and if you don't like it all you have to do is do a restore from CWM and you're back to the previous version.
You should try to use the ROMs for at least 3-4 days (preferably a week) before deciding if you like it or not, of course, if it keeps crashing then you're probably better of trying another ROM
P.S. don't forget to clear cache/dalvik cache and preferably clear data (factory reset) when installing different ROMs, or you'll have all kind of nasty surprises (crashes, battery draining faster than normal, Force Closes (FC), ...)

This is the app that everyone should use after flashing new rom. I always use it and helps in improving battery life. I always use rooted ziplined stock rom and just freeze unwanted apps using titanium backup app this way i get good battery life and most stable rom for OB.

All the "Battery Calibration" app does is remove the batterystats.bin file which contains the information shown in Settings->About phone->Battery use.
The batterystats.bin file has NO AFFECT in the actual life of the battery, it's just information shown and nothing more.
More info HERE and HERE
I'm thinking that if a GOOGLE ENGINEER who worked on the Android development team says that deleting that file doesn't improve battery life then he/she might be right (after all, he/she knows more about the device than me )
But of course, the PLACEBO effect works for some, so if you feel better installing hundreds of programs that claim to improve your battery, well, be my guest, just know that many actually use more battery than they "save"
DELETED

Hello Everybody.
recently I noticed that My Galaxy Note eats very much battery even in sleep mode.
from 12 at night till 8 at morning it eats 30 percent battery.
I install a clean version of N7000JPLA1 middle east version and factory reset my phone after flash. it went good.but after I only open samsung apps (samsung apps update itself and samsung accout) it starts eating too much battery again.
What should I do?
anybody else has this problem?
untick the Samsung PUSH from market and firmware update. and if you want more disable autosync. I have noticed that when I had a update for a app from SAMSUNG store it would eat another battery even it was night and phone should have 1% every 1:45-2:45 hours depends of the synchronization, but it was eating 3-5% every hour. hope it helps you
iam using lc1 lb2 lc1

Sorry Can't help.
does anybody have this issue?
There is nothing normal about what is going on.
The very likely reason for sudden increased battery consumption is recently installed apps that have created background services.
Before you go to bed, try this:
task manager>open apps> close all
task manager>ram> clear memory
settings>applications>running services> close all unnecessary services
