Metal love songs - Off-topic

Today is my anniversary with my wife. 3 yrs. I'm looking for a metal song that has to do with love. There are tons that talk about ****in and sex (Pantera - Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills). Just looking for something that has to do with loving someone.
How about All That Remains - Forever in Your Hands?

I used to be able to sing Two Weeks to her and it would be spot on. Things are changing for the better.

That's so awesome! I'm really happy to hear you say that. I remember we had a discussion in another thread and we talked a little. I am just happy for you both. As for a song....let me ask Sparky, He honestly has better taste in music than I do and is knowledgeable about the Rock (most sub genres) Genre.

Fast Five Movie was Awesome!

Just got done watching Fast Five. Good movie lots of nice cars. I really liked it it was a great installment to the franchise.
Funny you must say that. I just read WSJ's review of the movie today and they tore it to pieces.

Yea I can see that. I try not to read critics reviews but ill read like regular people reviews. For some reasons critics expect more from a movie. And just the average Joe just wants to be entertained.
I'm sure it was terrible.
I'm also sure you wouldn't know a good movie if it came up and slapped you in the face saying, "I'm, honestly and truly, a good movie."

I know the differences between good movies and bad. You see everybody is different everybody has different things that they like in movies. Fast five was good enough to live up to the hype of the franchise.
Its people like you that judge everything without every even seeing it. Its pathetic. You didn't even see it. But I had a good mixture of funny and action.
IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH.
Several great movies
Men of honor
Million dollar baby
The fighter
And you know what they didn't have to slap me in the face at all.
Sorry but not every movie out will have that caliber.
fast five movie was awesome
so funny
I'm deciding if I'll watch this now or watch it later together with Thor.

I seen it like last week. Pretty good I thought. The part where the black guy walked in to the police station with the badge, lmfao!
Also the chick on the motorbike is HOTTTT.
The whole thing about a 'good movie' I couldn't care less about how it's acted out or whatever, I'm there to be entertained, and entertained I was.
I've read reviews of loads of films saying they're crap but I've got and seen them and thought they were quite good.
Like Pirates of the Caribbean, I've seen good reviews on that but I thought all of the movies where boring and crap.
im going to watch the movie in the weekend with my friends. i really expect much from it!
It was pretty good, the gf wanted to see it, I didn't want to mostly because most of the movies sucked, but this one was alright, but needed way more racing and car's, and more girls haha.
It was more of a 'story'.
Movie was good. Watched it over the weekend.
It was definitely an entertaining movie. Worth the ticket price.
Saw it last weekend. How busy was it where u were? (dead quiet for me)

It's certainly moved more towards being an "action" movie more so than a car movie as it was in the previous instalments.

Apple's most successful(and irritating) product: meet the iSmug

Hi all,
i have been using this forum for some months after I got my amazing android phone. I am happy there is finally competition for good phones that are not iphones. I do not like apple's way of doing business and definitely the smugness of most people who get an iphone and think their coolness has gone off charts.
You know what I mean? People who have a need to show off their iproducts in public? I am so happy i have an android. Android people are so much fun to talk to and cool to discuss wasy to improve their phone.
Apple's best product has been the ismug What do you think? do you know what i am talking about?
Message to the moderator: i hope this is the right forum(if not please move it)
that is so true! i personally appreciate the quality of apple products, however i believe that apple products are incredibly overpriced, and their biggest advantage is their biggest downfall: Apples iron grip on their software
Lemme tell you a short story.
I am on a trip to Athens the other day and,as everyone in a large city,I used the subway to go to my destination.Entering the train,I found a seat next to a guy who looked like being 20-25 years old.He didn't seem geeky at all in fact.I sat next to him,but then he did something he shouldn't have.He pulled an iPhone 4 out of his pocket!Oh sh!t.There was also a girl sitting right in front of us,in a seat looking towards us.She told him "Nice phone you have there"(She had an old Sony Ericsson btw).He found a chance to show off then. And then, after I had lost my temper,I pulled my Galaxy S 2 out of my pocket and started playing with it.He looks at it,his eyes go wider than usual and awe was obvious in his expression. The girl(a beauty in fact) turns to my side and says "Your phone is nicer than the iPhone".Then I started to show off.The games, the screen, the effects, everything was better. That iSmug next to me turned white and got off at the next stop. The girl and I had a...nice time after that btw.
And what's the moral of the story?Android ftw!
Tolis that is an amazing story.
i think the only way to strike back at the apple cult is to make fun of their smugness
ps hi from thessaloniki
ps 2 Galaxy S ii is great
Most of the people think iProducts are COOL. It has now become a factor of an individual's "coolness".
Then someone pulls out their android phone and they're like, "Is that samsung?", "Bleh".
I am bored of listening: you have a Samsung? It looks like an iclone...;
Haha, Tht was funny and intersting at the same time

This douchebag in my boy scout troop once compared his 80 gigabyte iPod to my 2 gigabyte Samsung YP-T9. Another person pulled out his 8 gig Nano and harassed me about mine being inferior. Got into a fight and quit scouting for good. Mine had an FM radio and Bluetooth.

What I should have in my Wardrobe.

Hi everyone,
I know this is an odd topic to start, but I can't think of many other places to go to.
So for the past few years I have been branching out as far as what I am dressing myself in. I currently wear a lot of sweatshirts/jackets and plain short sleeve tees, and I will either wear jeans or sweatpants with those. I would like to branch out even more, but I have no idea where to start. I'm a teenage guy (about to go off to college next year), I'm tight on cash, but I want to look good.
Sadly, I find it really hard to dress myself, because I don't know what I look good in (I look at myself in the mirror and I just don't know what to think).
If anyone could give me some advice on what I should be looking for to put in my closet, or some sites that could help me, I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks guys!
It all depends on the look you are going for really. And personal opinion.

what type of body do you have?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Everyone has their own fashion sense. So just wear what's comfortable to you. That said, I think there are certain "rules" to follow when it comes to filling your wardrobe as you venture into adulthood..
No baggy jeans/pants. These make you look like you're 12. Regrettably, I wore baggy pants until i was 19.
No oversized shirts. They look like PJs, someone else's shirt, and/or a dress. And you'll give the impression you're afraid of outgrowing your shirt so you decided to buy several sizes too large to compensate.
If your shorts reach the midway point between your knees and ankles, they're too long. They make you look short and stubby. Aim for around knee length, give or take an inch or two.
Don't sag your pants. No one wants to see your underwear.
Don't wear socks with sandals/flip-flops. If it's hot enough for sandals/flip-flops, it's too hot for socks. If it's cold enough for socks, it's too cold for sandals/flip-flops.
Have at least one outfit for formal situations. Sure, you can attend you're own graduation with a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. They'll all be well-hidden under your graduation gown so it doesn't matter, right? Sure, but it's about respecting the event, not about who sees what you're wearing.
Sports jerseys. Don't wear sports jerseys for actually playing sports unless you have the game to back it up. If you play pick-up basketball games, inevitably, there's going to be some guy wearing a Michael Jordan jersey. Right away, you know that that guy is going to have a bad day on the court. He would be crossed-up, D'ed up, and scored upon in every way imaginable.
I follow all of those basic rules. I hate people that sag their pants, annoys the f out of me.
Thanked.

Girl trouble?

Idk if this is the right place to go, but I'm at a pretty bad place. My gf of 2.5 years just broke up with me about a week and a half ago. She keeps telling me to move on and stuff, but we had a history of coming back to each other. This time she says its real. Now, I tried took her advice and tried moving on. I went to this small party last night and her one, pretty babish friend was there. We talked a lot and later told me that she wouldn't hurt my ex like that but told me I'm a pretty good guy. I think I like the new one, but I'm worried that what if my ex comes back? I don't want to hurt this chick cause I kinda care about her. My friends who are pretty close to her told me I should wait a month then go after her. I just need some help, you guys seem pretty smart.

18. I'm a senior in high school. Y a I know its hs BS to most. But they said to take like a month off then try with the new girl. And to not talk to my ex or hangout with her unlees she texts me first. My ex is 18 too and is off at college 5 hours away.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
Your ex sounds pretty determined that it's off for good. You shouldn't put your life on hold hoping she might change her mind but you shouldn't rush headlong into something else either. The new babe has potential? Tell her you like her and that you hope that something happens in future, but that you don't want to make a rebound mistake.
Go out with some friends and keep yourself busy with stuff you enjoy. Try to put your ex out of your mind and take advantage of the free time you have now. Don't be tempted to make a fool of yourself with your ex when you're feeling low. Months from now when you're looking back on this time, you will want to be able to hold your head up and say that you kept your dignity through the hard times.
If its meant to be, you'll get back together sometime. The question is when. When I was in high school I dated someone for a year. I broke up with her and some how 3 years later we found each other. That was 2001. We are now married and have 3 kids.
But to be honest, since you said she's in college 5 hours away, it sounds as if she found someone else or doesn't want to be that committed to any guy. Between the college atmosphere and 100' s of new people and new friends, they are more, I've seen so many relationships end when one of them goes onto college or both go to different colleges. You want someone who is there everyday.
Either way I would pursue the new girl. You don't need to sit around and continue to be sad.

Thank you. That's what I was thinking about doing. What worries me though is what happens if we reconnect over her Xmas break? I don't want to ruin this new girl, she had guy problems in the past. Also I have the problem of these two girls being friends. Good idea or bad idea? My friends said wait and then see. I have to prove it to the new girl that I'm worth it and that she isn't just some rebound, which she isn't.

If the new girl isn't worried about what it could do to her relationship with your ex, why should you. You need to do what will make you happy. If your ex wants to get back with you later in, but you have found someone that makes you happier, that is her loss. She made the decision to leave you. If you're waiting to see if its meant to be, you could be waiting years, months, or even a lifetime. Move on and let life take its course. The lowest points in your life will only make you.stronger.

Who cares if you're like that? Chicks don't like the super macho douche man. If you're looking for the kind of girl that does then stop looking for relationships and start looking for an easy score. Living up to the standards of sleeping with as many people as you can is actually kinda gross to me personally. Just do what you want, not what you feel as if everyone else will approve of.

Getting to Know You - Share a Pic of Yourself!

Since there will be a lot of new faces in the N5 section, and of course a lot of love and hate affairs will be taking place in the next year I find that when we put a face to a name there seems to be more friendly communication. I have done this in another device section on XDA and it turned out to be really successful and extremely fun as well.
If you guys are interested and the admin are okay with it then let's get it started and start posting up some pics of yourself, family etc.
If everyone prefers to be incognito here then we can just close this thread.....
I am 37, married with one kid and live in the US, North Carolina. Grew up in NY though.
My smart phone journey started years back with a Windows Pocket PC phone PPC-6600 if anyone remembers that. Started out at Sprintusers.com and then moved to PPCGEEKS.com for all my needs. I used to be scared of XDA. It was the place where the big boys hung out. Man, it was intimidating. Then I slowly built up the courage to check out XDA for myself and slowly worked my way in here.
Now we have so many different levels of users and while some might think that is a bad thing I think it's great. We all have to start somewhere and seeing people transition from noobs with not a clue to the ones helping others and some guys even taking on development themselves, it is a great community we have here!
Well you can see me in my avatar. I'm a mom of 3, love technology and looking forward to coming home after work on Tuesday to my brand new Nexus 5 to replace my S2.

Coming from am N4 I am mostly looking forward to the 5" 1080p screen. A 4.7" screen is nice if there weren't soft keys on the screen so a 5" should be just the right amount of real estate with the soft keys.
I know you can remove them and use other options but I like my keys usable without any other actions.

Yeah, the reason I wanted to have this thread here is for everyone to see the wide range of people there are on XDA from teenage kids to parents to grandparents.
It will also help when communicating in the other threads as you might think twice on how you react to people when they ask certain things. They are not just a punk teen hiding behind a nickname...They are an old guy, acting like a punk teen hiding behind a nickname. Lol

Good stuff bro. It is easy to get sucked into that life. Glad to hear things are good now. It's much harder to get out then to get in. Stay strong! Cool Android tat. Amazing how phones bring so many different types of people together.
