Hi all, i write because my a853 touch screen sometimes got crazy. It look like an issue with sensor or i don't know but is behaves strange sometimes: opening and closing application, the browser, dialing, opening setting menus all by itself with nobody touching the screen, so i don't know if is a hardware issue or some kind of malware, so if any of you got an idea about what could this be plz help me out. Sometimes the screen get unresponsive and i have to push the power to unlock it, when i push the launcher it opens the application to the right or the left.
Your digitizer is broken, so you have ghost touch issue. You need to change the touchscreen.
So you mean i most change the digitizer, or the LCD screen
change the digitizer

I just replaced a screen in a Trinity (Dopod D810). The touchscreen initially wasn't calibrated correctly so I ran the alignment tool in the settings, and after a few attempts, I calibrated it properly and the touchscreen was working perfectly. Now the touchscreen is not working properly. The top half of the screen responds to touch, but no matter where I press in that region, the screen thinks I'm pressing the top-right corner. When I run the alignment again, it responds to all the touchpoints but it never successfully calibrates and it keeps bringing me back to the alignment screen.
The current settings in the registry entry for touch calibration are as follows:
484,558 244,286 263,815 750,820 707,295
I've found a few other threads here (the most helpful being http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355010) and I've tried the settings from that thread. The screen seems more responsive, but still not correct because the bottom half hardly responds and the top half seems to respond when it feels like it.
Can someone please post their D810 touchscreen settings so I can try it? I've tried the settings from my Touch Cruise, but the screen is still doing weird things.
This is a customer's phone so I need to have this fixed ASAP.
I'm thinking that it may be a faulty digitizer, but that won't explain why it worked perfectly when I first calibrated it.
UPDATE: NOT FIXED yet, but now the backlight is dead. I just turned it off, and then turned it on again, but I can only see the screen content if I shine a torch onto the screen. The LCD hasn't leaked. The backlight just died and the connectors in the phone are fine. Perhaps this was a dodgy screen.
Any ideas?!
since the device has a recessed screen, take the cover off to get at it.
take a soft cloth or something and clean off all the garbage on the digitizer and back of the plastic. make sure everything around the lcd is free of dirt.
usually, if there is something pushing down on the digitizer while you calibrate it, it will totally bork the alignment over the course of 10 minutes to an hour.
my kaiser is currently having this issue, though i put it though alot more hell then i should have... so i suspect its suffering from other issues.
Hi everyone, first post and it's about a G1 I recently purchased.
My phone is using the Cyanogen Mod 6.0.0-DS, which is freshly installed. The weird thing is that about 2/3 of my screen (when in portrait mode) is unresponsive when I place my finger on it.
When I touch in the Left 1/3 of the screen, it recognizes my touch and works. The even weirder part is that when I start my touch in the 1/3 and move into the other area of the screen, the phone recognizes my movement.
So say I'm on the home screen and swipe left to right. The screen recognizes my touch and I can hold down the touch into the right side of the screen and it follows my movements perfectly. It's only when I touch in that 2/3 right part of the screen when it touches not recognize the touch.
Now, my question is this: Is it software related or hardware related? Is there a setting I can use to maybe calibrate the screen. OR do I need to replace the screen (or digitizer? can someone help me understand the difference)?
Thanks in advance for reading. Any help is greatly appreciated. Ask questions if need be

I am having this issue, too. Anyone able to help?
Its common, I had couple of phones with intermediate touch issues on a portion of the screen, a new digitizer took care of that.
Hello, from some time, the digitizer of my g1 is acting weird, the bottom right part is not sensitive at all, and sometimes the screen gives to the os a completely wrong input, so the screen flicks by itself
Anyone knows what can cause this?
Thanks

well my G1's sensor act different whenever I connect it to (not compatible) charger (i.e. Blackberry's OR Motorola's)
Can't say it's due to fall of your G1 (my G1 fall a hundreds of time & still no problem but just accelerometer got screwed )
It possibly can be cause of you HARD PRESSED that part somehow somewhere .......
OR concern some repairer to get it fixed (i.e. Change digitizer)
Best of Luck

Hi guys,
So I had to replace my broken screen.
I replaced and everything was working fine until one day, after 1 month, I start getting some ghost touchs in my screen.
There are some spots that triggers the touch at random times and keep pressed.
I've attached a screenshot showing one touch, that of course it is not mine, but keeps pressed for some reason.
If I press that region very hard sometimes the ghost touch disappear which leads to conclude that something is wrong with the screen that I bought, BUT if I reboot the phone it also fixes it, and that is what bothers me the most, I think it is not a physical problem but a software thing.
Can anyone help me break down this problem?
solution?
Do you had any solution for that?
Was it a hardware or software problem?
Best regards,
