Help me guys. Why video cannot be played at galaxy tab?
Sent from my Galaxy Tab using Overcome Hermes
care to elaborate? I am the video expert but am not psychic lol. File format? Video app you're using? Tab type? Firmware version? Error message or just FC?
Did you enable stagefright for player? This keeps some files from being played.

Where can i find that stagefright?
Sent from my Galaxy Tab using Overcome Hermes
The stock video player doesn't play all videos. Try for instance mobo player. It's free and plays all my videos.
About the stagefright thing: you can find it in /system/buil.prop or /data/local.prop. There are entries like media.stagefright.eneable-*. Only http and rtsp should be true. Enabling the others can break the playback of certain video formats.
Cheers

I search on google and everything i found are not free like pavtube or Aunsoft MKV converter!
And unfortunatly they have no tutorial on XDA to reencode properly a MKV file in 720p for Galaxy S!

Why is that? I loaded a few 720p trailers on my phone to test them out but all I got was the audio. Tried sone market video players but they were laggy.
Any fix/soloution for this?

Using Doc's Froyo 2.2 JPO full package. Had no lag at all.
Lordao
i have avatar 720p mkv and it plays well on the default video player without any lags or problems when i was in eclair and even now on froyo
Im using stock rom and it lags with market players and I only get audio with stock player. That's with the cars trailer 720p. Any fix for this without using a custom rom?

TBH it worked fine on my stick 2.1 when i got the phone from t-mobile using the stock video player so i cant see a reason why you have issues. Could always try a full factory hard reset and see if that improves it.

I'm pretty sure a hard reset isn't the answer. I mean just to get those videos playing, it cant be. There has to be a simple soloution.

Is it on the internal SD or on an external?
720p MKV and MP4 worked on mine off external sd on both 2.2 and 2.1.
Could try re encoding the video with something like Hamster which is freee
Mine are on the externel sd card. N wouldn't re encoding the video change the quality?

i can confirm there is no problem playing 720 straight off the web downloas in the phone for movies, tv shows, anime, etc.
using mplayer to watch the videos
So I cant find this anywhere. I downloaded a complete tv series in mkv format. On the pc its good quality. But on my tab im using arcsoft media player, and the video is a little choppy and pixilated. Any suggestions to get better quality?

Try moboplayer. Its awesome and free as well. Its in the market.
The native player is working good with mkv if it doesn't have dts audio. No need for third party player.

Hello,
Will be possible for samsung ace to play 720p videos?
Thanks
NO....! Hardware problem... Software cant make a miracle...
MoboPlayer
Try downloading MoboPlayer and then then MOBOPlayer codec for ARM V6VFP. It plays almost all videos. Try it, its too good.
Soft decoding is really slow and drains a lot. Don't really need the 720p anyways this is not a high end phone

Qqplayer plays 720p but it lags...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
yes, maybe some app will play 720p using software decoder, but it'll lags like crazy. so theres no point on trying to play it on underpowered device like ace, its unwatchable.
I play 720p video with oc-ed 903mhz on qqplayer, its still laggy

Already have the neon decoder installed, the problem I keep running into is that a 720p video will play beautifully with HW or HW+ when I open a new video. But if I do something like fast forward/backward, turning on the subtitle during the play, the player seems to reset itself with the screen going black for a short moment. When it comes back, it will play the video from the very beginning again but with SW only. I will get the HW/HW+ not supported message if I choose those two decoders. Anybody knows why?
All formats or only one or two?
