[Q] Which one is BETTER, XGin or Froyobread? - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Both of them are great ROM, some of you maybe a user of these ROM, i'm still confused to decide which one is better. Froyobread is bugless, but less customizeable and the prob with DSP Manager . Xgin is highly customizeable, fast, but come with common Gingerbread probs. So let's have a vote which one is better. Give me the answer and you reason please.

I do not try Xgin rom yet, but I am very happy with Froyobread

It depends what you consider "better"...
I consider Froyobread better, most because of 2D graphics which is in Gingerbreads broken, so GB looks slow and not smooth...
If we ignore 2D and cam bug, Xgin is definitely better..
-it's most recent version of android...(and cm7), while Froyo is cm6 which is outdated...

For me is better GingerBread. It is smoother and faster than Froyo. In every Froyo ROM I have lags, but in GingerBread no

Im satisfied with xgin right now, but im waiting for froyobread 20..You can try both by dual ROM. Dual boot is confirmed working.

just asking, is it possible to combine the CM7 with Froyo?

Both are excellent roms but after testing I decided to keep with Froyobread mainly because the camera. I used it a lot and the xGin's VGA only camera is a real problem for me.
Also until the last xGin version I used (5.1) I feel that Froyobread is a little more stable.

Froyobread is fast and stable, like Dare-Devil Inside said , Ginger is not smooth to daily use

Happy user of Froyobread. Haven't tried the other rom, but until we get a fully working gingerbread rom with full working camera, I will be sticking to Froyobred

Had xgin 5.4 för a week no problems yet
sent from x8 with xgin 5.4 using tapatalk

froyobread is the best

FroyoBread not charge battery!
I use FroyoBread v19
Only one bug for my phone, when battery is low not grab charge, I need plug on charger when phone is turned off to charge!

until now I use FB ... and just tasted a piece of XGin

for me, i choose xgin 5.4. pretty fast for me.
but i keep updating my froyobread,

Xgin camcording is sync unlike froyos but both is a superb rom
Sent with love!

Uhh .... i heard that there Are a 2.2 Rom with 2.3ROM's customization options and Stuff ... i think it's the one i have .. am not sure though .. Cause i Didn't find all the cm7 options in the Cm settings ...
but i'd still go with the 2.2 .. much much more stable ! .. and Buggless ... + Faster ..
..
cheers .

Today XGin and Froyobread are the best Roms for X8 but you have to try it to say which one is better.
If we ignore 2D and cam bug, Xgin is definitely better.. I agree with Dare-Devil Inside
It depend of your daily use.. Froyobreab is very good but for me I choose to install XGin.
Anyway dev doing very good job for us..

Can anyone vouch for Gingercruzt?

Well this is not the place for gingercruzt as this thread is only for xgin and froyobread.
PS: ill try gingercruzt soon.

Yea I know lol. Was gonna suggest adding it to the list or poll (not really a poll is it) but didn't. Gingercruzt is quickly and becoming popular and on a personal note I'd like to know the community preffered choice between XGin and Gingercruzt. Am gonna try it soon as well

Rom with best battery life and speed?

Hi I was wondering, which rom has the best battery life and is nice and smooth. Not really looking for anything with a bunch of extras, maybe just stock look, that 14 toggle thing if any rom has those, nice battery life, and one that is nice and smooth and not too glitchy. Not really speed, more smoothness. Thanks.
My recommendation...

I don't know what's wrong with my device, however, unlike other ROMs, Cassie's XtraLite ROM does not give me a battery overheat problem. I am using it with the latest SpeedMod kernel from hardcore (same reason, this kernel does not give me overheat problem on my device).
Cassie's XtraLite ROM does not have all the eye candy, but I prefer function over fashion. So far I'm happy with the performance and the battery life.
What do u guys think about rocketrom v19 with abyss kernal 3.2? Thats what i am running right now...only picked it cuz it has the most replies/views in the forums...should i switch?

If you like it and everything is running well & smoothly, then you don't need to switch
As for me, I stop flashing around and start enjoying my Note I settled with Cassie's XtraLight ROM and speedmod kernel.

Feels fast and smooth. Battery life seems good. And its pretty configuable (as much or as little bloatware as you like).

Probably. Didn't work out well for me. And forum is kind of an "in crowd" who ignore posts about problems.

I use rocketrom 19.1 with speed kernel. Been a few days since I've used it and I've been getting roughly 14-18 hours with moderate to high usage everything turned on bluetooth,gps,wifi, and medium brightness. If you have already invested in juice defender ultimate and battery saver pro you can squeeze even more out of your battery. I have both installed and I am getting 50+ hours web browsing, streaming music, and playing games like order of chaos. I'm a battery nut and pretty OCD about it lol

I have tried all the roms for the note but i keep coming back to stock XXLA4.
For me that works still the best and have the best battery life. All the other roms are nice and look great and have lots of other stuff but the all have small problems. But it is nice to test them and see for your self what you like the most.
yep stock is better wait for CM9 casue CM is the best

Which is the best (in your opinion) upto date ICS rom for the i9000

Whilst keeping up to date with new releases.. Lets discuss what you think is the best candidate for your favourite ICS i9000 rom..
Include stuff like:
Battery life
Lag - Smoothness
kernel..stock??

But anyway, I have tried most of them ( All of them actually, build after build ) and so far, they're all in heavy development stages; improvement is coming in the near future. So I'm still on GB - Thanks for all of those working on ICS for SGS i-9000.
Tried ICS CM9, Slim ICS 2.6 and Onecosmic ICS (TEAM ICSSGS) and Im still on GB as in ALL of them messaging APP gets FC when reciving an pic via MMS (im on O2 UK). But i do like Slim ICS 2.6. Small, fast, stable.

Stock ICS ROM for I9000?
Anyhow I am using Onecosmic's ICS 4.0.3 port since 3.1 and for me it works fine.
I am using for:
* Playing videos from network shares
* Doing occasional wifi/3G internet browsing
* reading/writing e-mail
* usual phone stuff (SMS, calls)
* taking pictures
what I don't use:
* music play
* video recording
* MMS
* GPS
* Bluetooth
* FM Radio
For me battery life is reasonable (3G is turned OFF constantly, I only enable
it when I need it, Bluetooth, GPS always OFF, Wifi is always ON (sleep policy
is OFF when screen is off)), meaning I can make it ~2 days with the usage
I mentioned. if I switch 3G on my battery drains within less than a day.
The stuff obviously lags in sometimes (as the I9000 has not enough RAM),
when the OS swaps out processes.
But anyhow I am satisfied with the ROM, it perfectly suits my needs.
Really?? u guys replying to this.....what the heck. Lock this pls.
Why is this even a debate? Clearly SuperAwesome Perfect Plus ROM v90001 ICS (Metropolitan Edition) with UltraEnhancements is the best ROM for everyone.
Dark knight 4.0.4 the best so far
wrong section but good thread!!!
I was using CM9 build by build but finally I came back on GB because of android os,battery consuption but wait for the ICS roms with perfect function
Wow? How this come true?

My workaround for fc mms on slim is to have smart gallery+ installed and download the attachment. Then I just look at it in smart gallery. for some reason the loeel doesn't work for me. Slim is my favourite too by the way.
Wrong thread indeed.
But AOKP and CNA are pretty good
Tired ICSSGS, MyUI, and CNA, CNa is very smooth and lagfree but drain a little bit more battery then ICSSGS in my opinion.
I think most of us want to know the answer but I don't think it will come out. I am using Kang's rom for my I9000. I feel comfortable and satisfy. Just for your reference.

CM vs MIUI whats ur pick and why

Lets compare user experience on both these awesome roms

None, why? Because this should be in Android forums, thats why.
MIUI = Fail.
kthnxbai
CM is the best
CM. MIUI just seems to change everything, it's too eye-candy'ish when I just want to unlock the screen instead of pull something seperate down and wait for the animation etc.
MIUI just offers a good UI.its buggy and quite unstable for gaming

Bah, I don't get all the "iPhonish" complaints about MIUI. How many people even use the stock launcher on the default Rom, let alone custom Roms like CM or MIUI? Cry me a river =p
Anyway, MIUI has been far more consistently stable for me than any other Rom I've tried, and this is especially true on Galnet. Theming is simple and I find it very easy to customize status bar, framework, etc. Also love the ease of customization of notifications and LED settings. Works perfectly with my overclock and V6 settings. Yep, I'm a MIUI fanboy just like many in here already are clearly CM7 lovas.
The gauntlet has been tossed at your feet, gentlemen!

I love 'em both. MIUI looks good, it has some very good built-in apps(music, dialer, messagaing and what not) etc., but CM has way better performance.
I'd say CyanogenMod anyway. My phone has a crappy processor and a crappy GPU, so I need a rom with good performance...
Not sure... Both are based on CM (you noobs), so the perfomance is great on both ROM's. I don't like the MIUI launcher but i like the rest, like the notification bar, the settings menus and so on.
Cm.

QFT. I've seen many change their tune once they've actually ran a stable build, and for more than an hour, at that. MIUI has a lot of great built in control and features, and the easy - yet extensive - theming is a huge bonus.
Either way, I'm all AOSP. In the end, that's what I see being the main thing. Always been a big CM fan, though. Love me some options.

currently neither... I'm on the rezound
now if we're talking about a while ago... I'd pick both. they're apples and oranges, and I've used both to much satisfaction.
The games i play give a better performance on cm rather than miui so i prefer cm

[Q] Good battery ROM

Hello people,
first of all I want to say that I know there are more questions like this one, but I couldn't find an up-to date one.
I'd prefer an ICS or later rom since.. well the GB roms are quite outdated, but if you know a rom which offers a great battery life don't hesitate to tell about it.
I'm corrently using CM10 unofficial from Pengus77:

I'm using Paranoid Android and I like it a lot. Battery life is really great. I'm using my phone from morning till the night and almost always battery last long enough. I'm using it for surfing, listening music, phone calls, messages so I think that this is really nice rom.

Wise choice.
Note: Don't judge the battery too fast. Wait till it have done a few cycle charges (meaning: plug charger in at a low battery percentage, keep it charching till its 100% - repeat few times.).

Yes, I will (although a lot of people say you should only charge to 80/90% to not overcharge your battery)
What governor are you all using btw? just normal interactive?
Update: installed the rom, all my apps, filled in my preferences/personal customisation etc. and I lost about 25%
so everything seems to go quite well with this rom.
Just one question:
what is a good alternate theme instead of the xperia one?

The most stable, battery friendly AOSP ROM for K20 Pro?

Hi everyone,
I have been using the stock miui for some time without any dramas. I wouldn't mind going back to an AOSP ROM. The main thing holding me back right now is, I find stock miui 12 to be really stable, battery friendly, and retains all the camera functionality. Also, I haven't needed to stuff around with magisk or whatever (excuse me, it has been ages since using a custom ROM) to get basic things apps Netflix working.
So if anyone has any suggestions for which rom to check out, please make them. Keeping in mind the following;
Battery Life
Stability
Camera Functionality
Apps like Netflix working
Thanks for reading if you've made it this far, and I'll make sure to click thanks if you reply.

I have recently left xiaomi.eu on this phone and tried a few ROMs. Most gave me problems with ANX and GCam. The only one on which both work is RR. I don't install a lot of apps and don't spend hours on the phone but battery usage is way better than the most optimized xiaomi.eu ROM.

Gcam and anx camera works perfectly for me in evox.
Make sure you have flashed the rom right.
Pixel Experience is running smoothly. Battery management is very good. While running tons of apps in the background I still can get around 9 hours of SoT (screen on time).
I use this ROM as a daily driver for about 2 months and still had no problems. Apart from this, I fully recommend to use GCam instead of built-in camera app.

Best battery on pe+, however fingerprint is not as good as open source vendor and aod has a broken animation so it's best to not use it imo. Camera works same as stock if you install and camera correctly
For me havoc os is best in battery department
Thanks a lot for the replies guys. Have a lot of ROM threads to check out.
