[Q] Playing AVCHD videos on SGS - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have any idea how I can play my videos on the SGS.
They are taken on my camera and have transferred to my internal SD card as MTS files and will not play. Any help appreciated.

I have sorted this now, people are not very helpful on this forum.

You could try Moboplayer? SD card will not support files over 4 gig and neither does allshare. You could also use iMediashare if you want to stream files over 4 gig. You only other option would be to convert the files to a format supported by the phone.

Yes I converted them to mp4 and that worked but Dice player will play them I have now discovered so next time I will use that, thanks.

[Q] program/app i need to watch avi movies????

anyone know if its possible and if so what program/app i need to watch avi movies that i stored n my sd card? when i had the vouge i used tcmp, a great program that played anything i ran on it.
Is there any programs similar to this?
thank you.
search "avi" on the market. I just did, about 5-8 apps popped about but they're all low rated. You can try to convert the avi movies to another format.
tcmp or dviplayer can be used... a search can help you to find one
Try this out...
I used this software converting a few movies and it worked great. Just download Video Player in the market and it will find the videos on your SD card. It may even play avi, but I just convert everything to H264

[Q] Watching HD Vids on D3? Error

So I put a 2.4gb .mp4 over to my sd card which is in my D3 and I can't seem to get the vid to play as it should. Tried the stock video player as well as Mobo.
The video plays with Mobo only if I use the soft-decoding option, but the audio gets ruined in the process. With the stock video player, I get a black screen and the track bar shows the video skipping at very fast rates. If I close and reopen the video again, the player crashes. If I scroll through the track bar, I can see the video screen caps but once the video starts playing again, black screen.
Video is a 720p bluray rip of The Dark Knight. Not sure what the exact specs are on that.
Btw my laptop plays the vid flawlessly so the file isn't corrupt or anything.
Do I need to convert the file or something, because I thought the D3 could play .mp4 files.
Try RockPlayer Lite from the market. I've had good luck with that app playing videos encoded for ipad/touch. The description is in Chinese but the menus are English so its usable.

Yeah try a different player like vlc on the market, the video encoding might be out of spec with audio and video slightly and enough to confuse the stock video player.

Tried it, worked the way Mobo did (audio ruined) but also distorted graphics in some areas.
I've heard that SD cards (or maybe the Droid 3/android phones) don't like vid files over 2 gigs, and this is 2.7 so...? or maybe I should use a different format instead of mp4 :/
bleh i dunno.. so many possibilities
Are you putting it on a physical sd card or on the phones internal memory which is labled sd? If its on the card that's prob your problem, but it on the internal storage. If not, idk

Yeah it was on the SD Card which I heard isn't nice to files above 2GB.
Anyway I downloaded DVD Catalyst 4 and the newly converted file worked on the card fine. Still, good to know about the sd card vs internal storage for future large video files.

[Q] Captivate, cannot play any type of video or music files, "file not supported"

[Q] Captivate, cannot play any type of video or music files, "file not supported"
I was unsure if I should post this in the Doc's Master's ICS thread or here as a general Q and A but I do not see this type of problem with anyone else?
I have a 32G Kingston external SD card installed and I have several MP4, M4V video files as a crapload of MP3's. I tried installing several different players from the market such as mplayer and mx player and all of them say they cannot play the files (file not supported by player). I really hope I do not have to convert them. Why won't my captivate play these files?
I tried to edit folder permissions, I see that "owner" has read/write/execute unchecked. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. Any help would be appreciated. I even moved a couple files to my internal SD to test with the same results.

[Q] Play .FLV files

Hi,
I am hoping someone will be able to help me, I have stored some .flv files on the sd card under "/SD Card/My Files/Videos/CBT Nuggets" on my Nook HD, however I am unable to play them.
I have downloaded and tried the following FLV HD MP4 Player, FLV Video Player and MX Player from Google Play but can only get as far as the following directory on the sd card: "/SD Card/My Files/Videos/"
Is there a reason why i am unable to get any further or that none of the applications are able to see the .flv files?
The sd card was formatted in the Nook and it is 16GB capacity.
Thanks
Asif
Use MX Pro & File Manager HD

I play a lot of .flv about tutorials for classes from Youtube and Khan Academy as well as CBT Nuggets and others. I use MX Player and MX Player Codec for Neon.
If you know how to sideload apps use File Manager HD to browse your whole system and select the file to play with MX Player.

[Q] Video Files won't play

Hi I just bought a new Moto G,2014. When I put mp4, or avi video files on my sd card I find that most files will not play (some do), I have tried many different players, and the problem still exists. I have even tried a few conversion programs, which I also get mixed results. Any help would be appreciated.
Try MX-Player: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=de
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player
Plays everything.
