MUCH BETTER THAN JuiceDefender, almost as exciting as CM. - LG Revolution

**UPDATE**
AutomateIt Pro Rules attached (the .7z file). They do the following:
1. Run DataSwitch when screen turns on or off
2. Disable 1. if WiFi is connected, phone is charging or if a phone call occurs
3. Enable 1. if WiFi is disconnected, phone is unplugged or if a phone call ends
Has crazy nested and/or statements to make sure it doesn't enable 1. if WiFi turns off but still charging, for example
**********
Saying a lot, I know. But honestly, how useful is CM + other tweaks if the battery dies in 3-4 hours?
Folks, I present to you what is in my opinion the best option for maximizing battery life.
I have tried several versions of JuiceDefender and many other setups to disable 3/4G while screen is off to maximize battery (doing so more than doubles the life for most). The issues I have not been able to solve are 1. the excessive lag for enabling connection and 2. the extreme unreliability with which most 'solutions' do so.
After tinkering with a bunch of data enabler/disablers on the market, I think I've found a working solution.
While initially very excited about AutomateIt, I was disappointed with its enable/disable data functionality. I presume it does so by tinkering with APN, which has proven to be very clunky for me (and others).
However, if you instead use it to trigger an alternative data disabler, you can have an automated mobile data triggering system dependent on phone use.
Download the apps:
1. DataSwitch

2. AutomateIt
And import the rules file (which I zipped then attached to this post).
I created the rules pretty hastily today (spent longer writing this post) so feel free to tweak them and repost.
Basically, what it does is:
1. disables mobile data when screen is turned off
2. enables it when screen is turned on
3. disables 1 and 2 during calls (as putting the phone to your ear automatically turns off the screen, etc.) and re-enables 1 and 2 on call's end
The lag is about 2-3 seconds instead of 3-10, which, for me, is a huge deal, as I need a data connection to start my car, control the music in my condo, etc.

sweeet. will try! do you use this with juicedefender or as a replacement?

this is a replacement- in fact, you should never try to run two separate apps/solutions for enabling/disabling data.
notes after a day of use:
1. this sometimes has issues when connected to WiFi. options are a) disable WiFi (4g is faster, often, anyway) or b) make a rule to disable the other rules on wifi connect (and re-enable on disconnect)
2. when it works, this is awesome.

Disable jd entirely or disable just its mobile data control.
Atk should be fine, just make sure it doesn't kill automateit.

You don't need a task killer anymore because of Android 2.2 (Froyo). Android puts processes to sleep inside our RAM to save time and battery life. Every time you kill an app, the system has to go and reload everything, whereas it could just be woken up from within the RAM. What you need is a process monitor that detects how much CPU is being pulled by your apps in the background. AFAIK, Watchdog is the best/only app that does this. It shows you that most apps are sleeping in your RAM and not pulling CPU (apps that any task killer would show as using RAM), and watches for any apps that go wild and pull lots of CPU power.
The CyanogenMod team won't take your bug reports seriously if you're running a task killer; they get canned.
In shorthand; consider your RAM a dormitory in which apps go to sleep until they are needed again. Free RAM has little to do with performance on the phone. Less available RAM is actually good. It mean more apps are sleeping and can be quickly accessed when they are needed.
Here is an excellent article on the subject. Enjoy!

from the market:
The advanced features included in this version are:
* Composite Triggers - use more than a single trigger for each rule using AND/OR logic between these triggers
* Composite Action - execute several actions as a result of a single trigger (which can be a composite trigger)
* Rule Active Period - set an active period for each rule. Really useful if you only want a certain rule to be active only during daytime, weekends, just an hour a day etc.
* Sensor Trigger - utilize all your device' sensors as a trigger for a desired action. This includes usage of all the sensors supported by Android - Accelerometer, Light, Proximity etc.
* Calendar Trigger - monitor events on your different calendars
* Enable/Disable Screen Lock Action - Enables or disables your screen lock slide/pattern/password/pin
that sounds AWESOME. way better than having to make so many rules.
i probably won't buy it though because i'm convinced i'll somehow have enough free time to learn how to just make my own app to do all this.
on day 3 the data en/disabler app is taking longer than I'd like to do its thing. maybe it's the city i'm in currently.

I downloaded the file to my phone, then installed AndroZip from the market to extract it. Open the .AIR file using a file manager (I use ES File Explorer), and I selected "open as text", then AutomateIt Pro is listed as an available app to open it, and voila.. There may be an easier way, but this worked for me.

[APK] Bluetooth Launch v2.0.1 Beta (11/19/2010)

So this started in the Cognition thread, but I figure it probably is useful for other ROMs and people.
So are you like me? You've hooked up your bluetooth mic, and pressed the voice action button and your phone looks at you stupidly? Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way you could start Google Voice Actions or possibly Vlingo's Recognize and Execute?
Here's the thing, currently Google Voice Actions and Vlingo can't hear over the bluetooth mic. Still, this will launch the voice app, and allow you to speak through your phone's mic.
I've considered creating a version where you can select any app; however, unless there's some demand for a feature like that I don't want to go through that kind of pain and suffering.
Feedback is appreciated.
Oh and finally, this is a very early version, so you won't find it on the app market or such. If I have time, I'll polish it up, but for now, this is good enough to fix the issue for most people.
If you find this useful, please let me know. There's no reason to polish something no one needs/uses.

1.5 Beta
So this is a little rough around the edges but it is functional. The first load will be slow, but application names are cached after that load. Still need to indicate what the user has selected in the past as well as sort the list.
2.0 Beta
Fixed the rough edges, nice radio buttons in the list. Sorted alphabetically. Oh and TheYar suggested waking up the phone to run the action. Not only is it doing that, but it'll bypass the screen lock.
Now some are saying, but wait isn't that a bad thing? Well yes and no. First the screen lock comes back when the action is complete, or bluetooth launch closes. Second, bluetooth headsets must be paired first to get access, so a thief would have to know to grab your headset and phone to get into your phone. The risk is low but not 0, so in the next version, you'll have a way to turn that feature on or off.
2.0.1 Beta
As TheYar pointed out, there's a bug where you may have to hit the bluetooth button twice. This is a bug in the underlying framework and there's nothing my app can do about that. That said, I added a vibrate on launch feature to this new version. No other changes were made.
Change Log:
11/19/10: 2.0.1 Beta Vibrate on launch
11/18/10: 2.0 Beta Choices shown, remembered in the list, sorted alphabetically (so learn your ABC's) and phone wake, lock screen disable.
11/17/10: 1.5 Beta Select any activity, better icon
11/12/10: 1.1.1 Updated some text, added icon
11/11/10: 1.1 Added Settings and Vlingo
11/10/10: 1.0 Initial Revision

It shouldn't require a reboot, but there may have been something subtle going on that a reboot fixed.

Better icon (not washed out)
This app works very well. You did a great job man.
Teaser
Got this working today, takes way too long to load right now, and only shows the names right now.
Hooray. I am happy to report that I can now use my BlueAnt T1 to control the Google Voice Commands. Awesome! Even though it passes the audio to the phone my headset still thinks my phone does not support it. But it works well enough for now till I can get an updated firware on my T1 headset.
I'm using Cognition.v2.2.Beta7.UCJI6 at the moment.
Beta Version Up
New version up, calling it beta because of the rough edges.
Enjoy!
Updated to the new 1.5 BETA. I switched back to my Plantronics Voyager 855 until I can update the firmware on my T1. The beta works. Thanks again for releasing this.
Wow this is great. I've been wanting to voice dial on my Captivate ever since I got it and this is the first time I've been able to do it.
I've noticed that often it doesn't respond until the second time I try to activate it. Maybe this is just a delay, not sure.
Any thoughts on how this could function when the screen is locked? Google voice actions are pretty powerful, so I doubt that full voice action functionality would be possible from a locked device. But maybe someone has some 2.2 source from another platform that includes how a call might be initiated over BT even when the screen is locked?
Thanks for this app. Loving it.

It appears to be a bug in the handling of bluetooth with the system, I can reproduce it without my app. Basically it appears that the system isn't releasing the bluetooth handle in a reasonable way, as my headphones that do bluetooth to both an iPod and a phone at the same time won't start playing again. I wish I could fix this.

This is a good idea. Look for it in a few minutes.
I just got done adding 1.5 to another DG ROM zip and decided to check here before flashing it. I'm am so psyched!!
Since you seem to be greased lightning on feedback and improvements, I'll throw another one out there - voice feedback into the headset speaker to let you know it is ready. I know that this functionality might better sit with the launched app (and sometimes does), but perhaps a configurable option to detect when the launched app has launched at least, and then react by saying "ready" or such in my ear. Then I'd care even less than I already do about the handle release problem with the bluetooth stack.
As for the lock screen bypass... yeah. I'm a security pro myself, but I agree that the risk there is low and acceptable, compared to the risk I face trying to security-unlock my screen while driving. Watch out though, people tend to freak out on this issue. The press went wild when the Droid opted for default Voice Action access through the lock screen, referring to it as a major security bug and design flaw. Of course, in that case it was accessible even without a headset, just a long-press of the search.
Let me know when this hits market and charge money for it, or at least offer a donation. Gladly pay. Considering this is the first time I've been able to accurately bluetooth dial since 6 years and three phones ago, you are officially a genius.

Your previous comment came in at just the right time to add an extra piece to the development cycle. The feature was easy, so I got it in. That said, playing through the bluetooth device appears to be a hard thing, I'll see what I can do about this. The easier thing to do, which I'm going to put in place soon, is to simply vibrate the phone, so that'll be the first step.

This is why I want the user to explicitly configure if they want this behavior. I'll look at adding a menu with settings. I want to get that done before I add in playing though the headset.

Actually, this is my first app, so I haven't paid the fee for developers to the app store. This is relatively simple, but I may put in a paypal link for development supplies. You know the standard: sex, drugs (beer), rock and roll.
I don't want to tip my hand for the other ideas I'm going to work on, but once this is mostly complete, I'm going to start on my next couple of apps, which I'm affectionately calling "Ring Rules" and "When I Get Home" right now. Those will likely have free and paid versions in the app store. (Assuming I get enough time to write them.)
Word, vibrate on launch. Dug. My handset is usually in a cradle or empty seat or sliding around the floorboard somewhere, so I might not get to use it much. But definitely a worthy X.X.1 enhancement. Looking forward to the other two apps you tease there; if my guesses are correct then they would both be of value to me.
On the lock-screen bypass: definitely, making it configurable would be preferable and snazzy. But on the old Windows Mobile Voice Command, this was configurable and disabled by default and it still got a good bit of bad feedback as a security bug. My 2 cents would be to make the setting work like the USB debugging setting in a stock ROM. Enabling it requires you to acknowledge a pop-up that warns and explains the risk. This might limit the number of armchair professional comments you get in the Market that are all caps and scream about how your app has security bugs and allows people to hack androids and steal all the datums and megahurtz off of them.
Hey thanks for this app, used voice dialing and commands all of the time on my Tilt with WinMo 6.0, only real downside of Android is not implementing this feature in an easy to use format IMO. I'm still figuring out vlingo but I can finally use my BlueAnt ST3 the way I used to, or almost anyway. Thanks again.
I started with yur earlier version that did Google Voice only, then the one that you could choose between GV and Vlingo.
Just installed latest version, and getting FCs.
I don't know if it is because I am selecting wrong COM item under (I've tried several under Vlingo, and get double vibrate, then FC each time) the app, or this application itself. But bringing up a long list of all the different components of various programs makes it immensely more difficult to get an operational program.
Going back to earlier version for now.
[EDIT]
I was able to get it to work with Google Voice, but never did with Vlingo.
I now realize that 3 vibes is normal. I'd prefer an option to turn that off.

Bad battery life, high Android OS drain

I'm experiencing very high battery drain on my phone, most of it attributed to "Android OS" in Settings -> Battery. For example, my battery is at 62% after 6 hours off charger, with 19min screen-on time. Any help, please? I tried reading various guides for dealing with the issue, but most of them refer to older versions of Android.

Wakelock its an excellent app but sadly you need root
Try unisntall some "fishy" apps that could be doing it
That's the problem, since I'm not rooted, I can't use wakelock detector It is kinda crippling.
I can't think of any fishy apps off the top of my head.. is there a list of "known bad" apps?
List some less popular apps you have installed. Apps like Tinder gave me ridiculous wakelocks. Screw that app BTW.
Interesting, I do have tinder installed! Is there any easy way of getting all installed applications on the phone?

Check for which devices are set to actively sync. Turn off all the apps that don't need to sync in the background. Also, turn off syncing for all the google apps that you don't use.
If you're logged into multiple accounts, you have might location tracking and history on for all. I disabled both and it doesn't affect google now.
Try a factory reset,I had my Google Services on high and I did a factory reset and it was fine from there on.

Sorry for late responding but I'm pretty sure it's a third party app. But another suggestion is to boot into Safe Mode and see if the high drainage still occurs. If it stops, then we know it's a third party app.
I have solved the majority of this problem on my phone.
Go into apps, reset data for the app "Moto"
Now enter Moto, do NOT accept "Yes I'm in" (or whatever it's translated to for you)
It appears the car detection chews through battery like mad, they apparently use ambient audio to detect driving if there's no location service running.
You will have to go into camera and click/unclick the wrist flick feature, same with alarm clock, you have to click/unclick in the Moto app, and launch alarm clock at least once. You will also need to do this on the "approach to activate" set of features.
This obviously kills the four assistive features and always on voice activation. But it appears this drains a ton of battery.
And even if you don't use voice activation any more, (I enabled it to test it out), but the DSP that handles it is never disabled.
Also always set GPS to "device only" as this google data farm "feature" completely murders battery life.

Hmm interesting, I'm gonna have to search to see if there's a fix.

I have all of these enabled. I use approx 45-60 min of GPS per day, minimal talk time, >50% of my time spent with no cell signal. I consistently get ~3.5 hrs of screen on time.
Maybe you did improve your battery life, but I don't think the moto features were your problem.

[TASKER] Looking for some tasker profile ideas. Post your tasker profiles here!

So I just discovered the magical world of tasker, and am loving it! Totally worth the money, and one of the best apps to have (the best if you know how to maximise its use)! I have been experimenting a bit with it, so I don't have many profiles. I'm sure many folks here will be using tasker and would be having some great profiles, so I'm looking forward to hearing some suggestions! The profiles I use are:
1. WiFi off at night, from 00:45 to 08:00, except WhatsApp, Play Store, Quora
2. Airplane mode at night, from 00:30 to 07:00
3. Use of interactive CPU governor when using Real Racing 3, and revert to lionfish governor after exiting app(Kernel adiutor profiles do this for me). I also added a condition to use auto-rotate when playing the game, and revert to portrait orientation after closing the app.
4. Auto-sync every two hours, from 08:00 to 20:00 (I would like to improve this to auto-sync only Gmail, would welcome suggestions on how to do this from any tasker experts out here )
I would love to implement more profiles and automate my phone, so looking for ideas.
Need a tasker profile which can disable my mobile data only for some specific apps.it means If I start those apps then my mobile data would automatically disabled and when I close them Data service should be enbled. If u can help on this then That wud be very helpfull
Nothing very fancy for me - right now just have it turning on my wifi hotspot when it detects my car's bluetooth connection so my stereo can use the internet.
It sounds like you are taking it pretty far, @varunadi. You should check out https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker for more cool ideas.

I don't know if you can disable mobile data entirely (not just background which Android can do already) for just certain apps.
Perhaps it would be easier to use something like Netguard.
I've never used it but the description says "Applications can individually be allowed or denied access to your Wi-Fi and/or mobile connection."

Can't the secure settings plugin be used for that purpose? Toggle data on/off I mean.

I was actually going to suggest that as I have it installed already but when I tried it didn't work.
The "Mobile data" toggle was unavailable because it claims I don't have root. However, I'm definitely rooted and there's no listing (saying denied or otherwise) in SuperSU for Secure Settings so it didn't even ask for root. I'm not too surprised as SS hasn't been updated in over a year and a lot of the Play Store comments mention mobile data toggle specifically not working either (among other things). Too bad as it was pretty powerful and of course I think I paid for it right after its last update.
Not getting SS working for me might just be my problem and perhaps someone else can get it going.
I was also going to suggest [APP][2.2+][ROOT] Toggle Data 5.0 (xda-exclusive free version) but then I read more about what @anks095 said which was "can disable my mobile data only for some specific apps" so I'm guessing he just wants certain apps restricted and not all (although the next sentence seems to say otherwise but I might be reading it incorrectly). I'm not too sure that can be done via Tasker/SS - my guess is that it's an "all-or-nothing" kinda thing for mobile data so the VPN thing might be the only way.
I use a similiar app called automagic but some of the things that I got my tasker like program to do are: lockscreen enable/disable through wi-fi at trusted places (don't like geofencing due to battery), when connected to the bluetooth of my car. Auto silent 5 min before a meeting, but if not connected to my smartwatch then vibrate. And lastly sms emergency location request where my family can send a keyword and my phone will automatically send location.

How is the lockscreen one working for you? I find the built-in SmartLock to be really unreliable but when I tried to do lockscreen stuff before (last year) there was some bug in either Tasker or Secure Settings that would sometimes keep your screen black with just the nav buttons visible present. I'll have to re-try now.
That sms emergency request thing sounds cool! Can the recipient open the location in Maps to see exactly where you are?
Without issues I set it so that it clears the password. Makes it so that I have to swipe to unlock. As for the location, yes it sends coordinates and the user in the other end taps it to bring up Google maps.

Thank you very much - clearing the password was the key! I had been trying before to disable the keyguard entirely so I wouldn't even have to swipe but that's where the problem/bug came in. Thinking about it that makes more sense to have at least a swipe because I'd end up calling people from my pocket by mistake. So thanks again!
Tasker...hmmm. Bought it, but much to complicated for me. Macrodroid is much easier to understand and can also do complicated automation with a normal user friendly interface. I tried to like Tasker, but the more and more I tried the more stupid I felt.

Spectacular results with Package Disabler Pro and Greenify on MM

I was never convinced about package disabler until I tried it. Many folks running stock with latest MM update and non rooted may be facing average to poor battery life. Try this combination in the subject and don't go wild on disabling thing. I just disabled rudimentary bloat ware from Samsung and Google, applied standard greenify logic mentioned on XDA and I am back to pre MM battery level or for that matter much better. Also running two corporate accounts plus my personal accounts and messaging. Just thought I share for those facing similar issues.
Also the phone is remarkably snappier, I can feel it with all the apps i use. Also I moved my magazine and news apps to my Nexus 7 2013 goodness, so this is just the perfect setup.

Me too, except I am using EZ Package Disabler and Greenify. Attached is the XML file listing what I have disabled using EZ Package Disabler, just the things I don't need and don't use. CAUTION: I have disabled Touchwiz Launcher using this, so make sure you have an alternate launcher (like Nova) installed before importing this XML file and disabling.
I use Aggressive Doze in Greenify and manually hibernate using the Hibernate Shortcut. With these two apps (and Good Lock), I currently see no need to root this phone. I'm getting 6+hrs SoT (WiFi and Bluetooth on all day) and the phone runs very smoothly with no noticeable lag.
Yeah, so darn refreshing to see apps launch with a spunk! Any memory or battery usage tools that are good? I am now doing a bottom up clean up of all that I do not use. And in my efforts, I found naked browser replacing chrome and UC that I was using. Dropped memory usage for browsing by 50% (I wish naked browser pro was not that expensive 7.5 cad.). Also any launcher that is more efficient than Nova? No issues with Nova but have used it for so many years that I have lost track if any other efficient launcher.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I think Nova is pretty much still top of the pile as far as features and customisation are concerned, not sure about efficiency though. I use GSAM Battery Monitor Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm.pro) - one feature I like is that it allows you to see when and how long your phone was in 'Doze' state (overall time and as a graph), which helps illustrate how well Greenify's Aggressive Doze is working.
Well tried both of your recommendations used the xml file was given by kinsman and samsung package disabler by hashiba enabled couple of apps that i use the most.. i have to say the screen on time was not that impressive but the standby was v.good
I'm normal user couple of calls usually i use Bluetooth only when I'm driving connected to my car stereo *i travel alot*
I'm using greenify with aggressive doze enabled. Stock rom not rooted using sm-n910G variant with the latest "august" security update..
Used the package disabler when my phone was on 70% and these are the result

Another thing I did was disabled the system app power saving / optimization mode, see that running on your phone for 55 apps or so letting greenify take over. Obviously cannot manage system apps as not rooted (I would root but my corporate mail is on Good for Enterprise, which detects root and will not work).

While I am definitely seeing good results with Package Disabler pro, but I have not been able to find any documentation on how this application works internally? Does anybody on the forum know or has had access to view it's source? Really can't get my head around this app and how am I able to disable system apps without needing root permissions.
I really want to understand what this application is doing to my device or for that matter it is greenify that is actually doing the real work.

Well I'm not sure how they did it but keep in mind you can only disable apps and services not removing them which is definitely requires root access.. app manager is limited for a reason not everyone is allowed to disable a service or an app without having problems so they will end up blaming phone manufacturers for screwing up their phones. Well i was about to disable power saving/optimization mode and let the greenify take the lead but I'm testing the current settings will give it a try next week.

Great tips, I have similar settings or disabled some of the above apps. Have you tried Naked browser? The best and most lightweight browser ever (Apus seems like a bloat). It will take you back to Linux lynx/links days, but this one only has a GUI which is bare minimum and fully functional. With its ad block, simple links mgmt I have literally deleted all news apps that have an online source which now flies on naked, without any issues.

Hi Marcel,

- set VPN/Sentry as Alway-on VPN
- Upon reboot, VPN/Sentry is not auto connected.
- has to touch the VPN/Sentry icon in the Status bar to manually connect.

Start on boot works properly, but I can reproduce your problem if I set VPN/Sentry as always on VPN like you did. I will look into this tomorrow.
Thanks for reporting this.
Edit: correction: if I wait long enough, it works. Android starts VPN/Sentry soon after boot, but it takes some time until Android reports "boot completed" to VPN/Sentry.
Can you please check what happens if you wait a little longer?

I have just released beta version 0.18 which will start the VPN earlier when VPN/Sentry has been set to always-on VPN.
It may take a few hours until this release is available in the Play store.
Edit: the release type has been changed from alpha to beta, since recent releases seems to be pretty stable.

VPN/Sentry was designed for minimal battery usage and maximum speed. The server bandwidth, currently 100 Mbit/sec, is shared though. See the terms of service (menu, help, about) for more information.
This looks like a great app! I do wish you would reconsider your position on releasing the source code, both for the Android VPN client and the server. If I could, I would love to run my own, private server instance, even if this means sacrificing some anonymity. I also have to imagine that if this app takes off (which I hope it does), server bandwidth costs would become prohibitively expensive for you to maintain yourself, which means you will start having to charge users for bandwidth. I also think it doesn't make sense to always route everything through France when the majority of the time I'm at home, on my own local WiFi network.

I have no plans to open source VPN/Sentry at this moment. One of the reasons is that I don't want to support running own serves, since this will inevitably result in all kind of questions I don't want / can't put time into at this moment.
Related FAQ: https://www.vpnsentry.net/faq/#FAQ8
This thread is for a reason in the XDA paid apps main forum. Data usage is free at this moment and will stay free up to a limit (to be determined), but will / need to be paid later on.
If you would run your own server, your internet traffic has to pass through your local Wi-Fi network as well, so this is not really an argument. I will add a server in Canada soon, also to have a proper backup, if you are worried about latency.
If you are concerned about your privacy, this is what I wrote in the NetGuard forum:
"I can imagine people asking themselves if I am trustworthy and they should. Therefore a little about my motives: developing VPN/Sentry is mainly a technical challenge to me (although the app looks simple, it is in fact a lot more complex than NetGuard under the hood). VPN/Sentry is something I want to use myself to reduce battery usage while still having full filtering capabilities. VPN/Sentry already has profiles and will have wildcard and global filtering (including ad blocking) in the near future.
I am just a independent developer and not a big company. IMHO you should be more worried about big companies anyway. Run the Android Booking.com app with NetGuard with filtering enabled or with VPN/Sentry enabled and take a look at what is being accessed for an example.
I have no interest in your data and not even the time to analyze your data. I might take a look at your data in the testing phase, but this will be just to debug problems.
Anyway, you have to make up your own mind about this, but I hope this helps."

Only one app can use the Android VPN service at the same time, so this is not surprising.
VPN/Sentry will have it's own ad blocker in the near future.
The server data (rules/conditions) will be backed up daily from now.

I am not sure what you mean, so can you explain in more detail what you want?
What do you mean by "trigger" ?

Without root permissions it is not possible to monitor the state (active or not) of other apps, so what you want is not possible. Note that VPN/Sentry was designed to not require root permissions.
I don't see the added value either, since the VPN is there to secure all connections, not only those of Facebook. If you really want, you can enable the VPN and exclude all apps except Facebook from using the VPN.
I'm very excited to see you working on another privacy app, thankyou M. - I will be happy to assist by testing as far as my time allows.
Is there any public repository of issues where to check before asking stupid questions or reporting duplicate 'bugs' ?
At my first trials, I noticed odd app behaviour regarding defaults of blocking/permitting. Are you aware of any issues in that area?

Thanks for helping.
Just comment here if you have any question or remark. Everything is still deliberately low profile.
What odd app behavior did you notice?
