I haven't had any luck trying to find a weather or messaging widget like the one spb shell has. I'm trying to not have to dish out a good 15 bucks for launcher that I like for two of its widgets... Any one know of any others out that are like those two?
Search for SPB Shell 3D apk on google on download it, then get a file manager like astro and just install it for free.
Tried that, it has a license check. I've tried all the cracked methods of getting it to work, and they don't work on cm7. It also, not that great of launcher, it just has two great widgets on it.

I downloaded the cracked spb shell3D launcher and used titanium backup to freeze the market (no flags for licensing) worked like a charm.

Well, I actually ended up getting the sucker to work by using a terminal trick, however I found that it was killing my battery, THEN ended up getting rid of all rogether because of the lack of customizing that Launcerpro adds.

Hey guys, I'm totally new to anythign and everything about the HTC dream, at least in some regards, and ive been looking around the forums and see people have different icons for stuff like chomp sms and what not and im wondering how to do that. pleaase and thanks.
you can use better cut (in the market) and download icon packs or you can flash a theme that has the icons changed.
so i just download an icon pack? it says i need open home though.
the one i really want, is just the green chomp one, but id like to look through some more.

if you have better cut you shouldn't need open home. i use better cut without open home and it works fine for me.
so all i do is download any bettercut icon pack, then what?
you need the app better cut to use the icon pack
bettercut is the main app. using that app you can then download the free icon packs and then from there you can go ahead and assign icons to apps. i believe that's how it works.
i'm looking for Bettercut in the market, but the only that i found isn't free but i have to pay for install it...where can i find the free version?

Does anyone know if there is a good alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S' "Program Manager" widget?
This one little widget is the only reason I'm still using TWLauncher rather than Launcher Pro or ADW Launcher.
Any ideas?
you mean the App that lests you install/uninstall Apps?
there are tons of it if that is the case
Astro file manager comes build in with it

I'm referring specifically to the widget it provides that gives you a counter of how many programs you have running. And doesn't kill all processes when you tap on it.
i don't like the stock Task Manager, it is innacurate, it doesn't show a lot of the hidden apps running. It is a nice feature that shows how many apps are running but that's about it.
There are a lot of alternative Task Managers, but so far i've not found a good one that includes a widget
this one does but is not free
http://www.appbrain.com/app/status-widget/com.domobile.eray.widget
the next best thing is this one
http://www.appbrain.com/app/advanced-task-manager/com.james.SmartTaskManager
but it only tells you how much RAM you have left, you click on it and goes into the full screen which shows everything in detail

I love the stock Task Manager! It doesn't count the running services, which is good because I rather them be out of sight
Hmm that widget could work, but it takes up so much screen real estate.
If you or anyone know of any others, please share!
Closest I could find: http://www.appbrain.com/app/task-manager/com.futonredemption.taskmanager
I tried widget locker and liked the way it looked, but you have to manually start the app every time you turn the phone on. I don't really care about all of the slide mods, but I would like to change the clock, font, etc. Is there a setting in Cyanogen that I'm missing? Any other app suggestions?
Has anyone ever tried this method for changing the clock font?
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/e1q7j/i_got_rid_of_that_stupid_lockscreen_clock_font/
Basically requires using Terminal to paste a new font over the existing font. I've never used Terminal and I don't have any experience in Linux. The program that someone mentions there (Type Fresh) has lots of bad comments on Appbrain about causing crashes and bootloops, so I think I'll stay away from that one.
are you looking to modify your system lockscreen or trying to find a replacement app (widgetlocker)?
for your widget locker problem, select start at boot and disable the 5 sec. rule.

If you don't want to use terminal, I'm pretty sure you can use ninjamorph which might be a little easier. As for widgetlocker, I'd say just do what kevina said. I've been using for the past week or so and it's been smooth and quick for me.
You could use tasker to autostart widget locker.

Ninjamorph doesn't work for this, nor did root explorer. I tried type fresh multiple times and it didn't work. After trying everything except using the terminal, I just changed the fonts in the rom's zip and reflashed it.
Thanks for the tips guys.. I reinstalled Widget Locker and I'm playing around with it again. I don't like how it takes over the Home button, but other than that it seems to be working pretty well.
Newest cm6.1 rc2 nightly has gestures and added support for phone and sms sliders on the lock screen. I can quickly access facebook, camera, sms, and phone without first unlocking the phone - I love it!
Which nightly are you on and does it seem pretty stable? I do have that same functionality you are talking about with Widget Locker... but if I can have it through the OS, I'll just use that.
I just got Widget Locker the other day. I love it!

Also make sure widgetlocker is installed on your phone and not the sd.

I can't seem to install adwlauncher... it doesn't seem to be findable in the market and when I use a direct link to it, it pulls of up in the market, but when I try and install it, it says that it isn't for my device.

Anderwebs(the primary developer of ADW) has yet to release an updated ADW for tablets. He is working on one, but has not put any information forward as to a date for release.

if you have another android device, download it from the market.
using root explorer, go into the /data/app folder and find the ADW EX app... long press and click share... you should now be able to gmail it or dropbox it....
I use it on the xoom, I like it much better than launcher pro but it force closes a lot.
Yeah I side loaded it from dropbox it seems to run ok but if you use the 4D app drawer is lags at times
Anyone figure out how to get the wallpapers to align correctly or noticing that they arent aligned correctly versus stock launcher?

x2. i'm running adw launcher ex on the xoom and the app drawer some times freezes and doesn't load at all. for now, i'll be sticking with stock honeycomb or launcher pro (choose the keep-in-memory option to prevent force closures)
Yeah I LOVE adw launcher ex but the app drawer in 4D lags like it is cool other than that it works great. Hope the dev fixes
i like a lot of the launcher spb shell.
i have tried a lot of launchers, and for me, the spb shell is the best.
but some times it takes about 15 sec to activate it
is there any rom with only spb shell launcher for ace?
is it to hard to make one?
i use stock lite 7.1 with battery extender 1.4.1
No its warez aka paid app

You will never find a rom with spb as default launcher, atleast not on xda.
You can always buy it and replace it with your default launcher.
Or use a patch for it.
Message me if you need the patch
Patch also works with later versions of spb shell.

Make spb shell launcher as ur default launcher. It will take less time as bfore.

SPB Shell 3D is a paid app and xda forums dont have any warez.
Just move the app to system/app and then set it as your default launcher.
The best way to do it is buy it set as default, then delete stock launcher using root explorer

I suppose you are a grown up man and you have probably rooted up your phone. :silly: So if you don't like the default launcher then go ahead and perform following:
1. Open PS. Download (Rather buy) SPB SHell
2. Download Home Manager
3. Now Activate SPB and go back to home manager (I bet your phone would be dead slow in this stage )
4. In it click on the default launcher and press 'Kill'
5. Uninstall the default launcher from your phone. Or kick it out forcibly from /system/apps
6 Now your SPB is default launcher.
