It may sound stupid
But still...want to ask! for example i may have a skills to replace a processor!!! for phone...dont think so tho
I just found it interesting
Would it be possible to change our processor to armv7
i havent studied our phone shematics and staff
but if it would fit...and it could be placed and connected right
would everything work? well if someone knows
I like going deep in things!!! some may understand!
dont say it isnt interesting ;D
but how possible it is...i have big doubts about that
go ahead and try.
Ofcourse you can't replace it
but would be cool!
Overclock to 820mhz and this should melt the solder and make your arm 6 easy to remove ha ha. Its a good question, when you were studying did you notice if an arm 7 would even fit? and if it did fit and manage to work well with all other components do you think software support might be a stumbling block. Keep us updated if you do get brave and try it, you might want to see if an x10 mini 5mp lens would work 1st, it would be a nice unique mod.
;D u know how much we want things to be better! But some things are impossible to get done i suppose, however ill try to discover everything about it!
Haha, you are wrong here.nothing is impossible.i believe it would work.and for sure if i had armv7 processor i would try it.if psp has armv7,i will try it.

screen is in perfect condition, my case has some lil marks of scratches!
its ok i have droped it like 20 or more times and some times i thought it wont survive...battery was 10m away from phone and case as well
hmm ill dissamble it one day and see how it all actually looks and sww if its possible to desolder it without damaging...obviously will have to use some kind of heat sinks!
I have a few minor scratches.i ran over it with a tractor!and its still in a great shape!

Replacing processor in x8 is different with replacing PC's processor. Afaik, however, there is governor wich the driver of most xda processor, you still need new kernel for your new arm7, it means you have to bypass the bootloader first.. then you make a miniloader for your new chipset. Btw, is x8 like wheels " sell in parts ! " LoL..

Can we use this program algorithm ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v664KdESXZU
Here is the apk :
I assume you're taking about making a counter-point?
Multytouch on our phone wont work right now because if you press 2 points it goes to the middle but with an algorithm then it could get a rough guess to where the 2 points are.
Mark
On youtube link its not dualtouch...
If you move left finger dosen't detect the right finger...
Ya, but if we do it like that it will be sort of a pinch to zoom which will be a little success .
pinch wont really work you need to make so that one finger stays in place but it know the other is there. pinch would mean then point in the middle would be in the same place at all times so it wont calculate where other finger is.
Let Moons awesomeness do the job :3

More RAM would be nice, more internal storage too.
A fast CPU wouldn't be a disadvantage.
Actually a CPU that supports flash.
Bigger screen? Larger battery?
I can think of a few items that we would need to make the perfect phone. Frankly the GT540 is not a good place to start.
the things you say will just turn our phone into a galaxy s!
Yes!, i bought an HD2 now, but that doesn't mean that i leave my LOW-END Optimus
The Gt540 came a long way, We should be proud of it,
if you want all that s//t then go for an galaxy s or nexus s, -.-
should have got a desire hd not a windows phone!
x3 i know but the plan is to dualboot windows phone 7 and miui ;3
i would never ever in my whole f//king history buy an windows phone and use it -.-
So My girlfriend has Garminfone and there is no info on the internet at all on how to overclock or a custom kernel or anything really so i Have rooted it but would like to do more so i have done a lil research and will like to build Custom Recovery for the phone but before i start i thought i would post a thread here with all my Optimus one family that i trust and love to get some tips and hopefully even some instructions as the instructions online are hard to fallow ??? so anything ???
Can give a clear answer about that, because its different for most phones.
Some phones like our Optimus One have a recoverypartition, a phone like Samsung Galaxy 3 has not. It took some work to port CWM to that phone and mumbozver (an XDA-user on de Galaxy 3-thread) managed to port it to that phone).
Guess it's best to post a question in the main android-section for this
make "cat /proc/mtd" in "adb shell".
If there are error - porting will be hard

Maybe start with telling us which phone we are talking about...
Here some specs that might help you:
Garminfone is the market name from "Nüviphone A50".
- MSM7227 chipset
- ARM Cortex A11 procssesor (ARMv6) @600MHz
- 256MB RAM
- 4GB ROM
- A-GPS
- WLAN b/g
- 3MP camera
- display have 480 x 320 Pixel
with this informations you can go at first to the step from mik, if it works might be
you can adapt a custom recovery for that phone
Oh... Nuviphone A50. I got this junk for free with their navigation. Well, frankly - you are better off throwing that brick away. One of the worst Android phones ever.

Well, if the guys on the thread I have linked are not even willing to team up to finally produce something after basically having wasted about a year on this without getting it even bootable... good luck with this.
I would personally suggest bricking the phone intentionally and claiming warranty. Pretty sure this junk has been EOLed so you might get a decent phone as replacement. (Though, you might be unfortunate enough to get a brand new replacement brick since the Garmin's stock must be full of these collecting dust. )

I for one would be very happy I dont have the smarts to even attempt this. But yes the garminfone is very very slow boring.. It would be just wonderful to have a recovery even better a rom mayb some point to bring this phone at least upto an ehhh ok phone status := Im willing to test/help what ever it is . Im not the best in the develoment area but I do have a garminfone and enough sense to try and give a hand.
So I went to look check my phone, and it slipped from my hand, tried grabbing it, Felt like slow-mo, and just missed it, and watched it fall into the deep fat fryer, So I then had to watch it cook for 4 mins at 240°C.
Obviously turn of the fryer, and tried to dig out with tongs.
The interesting thing is it still works! Tad greasy, absolutly EVERYTHING work, Apart from the speak, So its now useless as a phone :/
Is the speaker user replaceable?

well, that's a pretty interesting story, man.
do you mean the speaker is broken or the microphone? you'll probably be able to get it repaired by samsung assuming you have a warranty on it.
With respect, would you really trust a phone, even repaired that you DEEP FRIED for 4 minutes? Be lucky you can get your data off it and buy a new phone!

Do you really think so They'll see you coming from miles away. You caused the damage yourself, it's not like it's a design fault.

Hmmm deep fried Gingerbread...lol
In all honesty, funkyblue is right. Get what data/contacts you can (if not backed up to google) and get yourself a new phone. If your headset port isn't caked up with grease then maybe you can use it as a glorified MP3/music player.
How on earth did the battery not die?
Forget the speaker, I think the main thing we are all curious about is...do you eat a deep fried SGS with ketchup, or malt vinegar?
Post the pics
BAHAHAHAHA (sorry!), this is the funniest title since someone deep froze their sgs (iirc).
But as to your question, I wouldn't be surprised if the speaker is replacable, iirc its a modular component!
EDIT: wait, was it 454 or 240 degrees? Big difference
or you can keep it and use phone with bluetooth headset???
Pictures have now been added, Sorry for the delay!
The speaker is now working albeit very quietly, There is this greasy ring inside the camera when taking a picture, Guessing oil is trapped in there.

I know it probably isn`t a very smart question since i didn`t find anything on the subject but is there something like an emulator for the x8. After some time every custom ROM starts crushing lagging and so on. So I would spend my time customizing the Eclair if there was a way to run the newer apps on it....

From what I understand the phones processor base would have to be x86-x64 capable.
Could be incorrect, yet I'm sure a ported windows would need friendly hardware so it would depend on the device.

It could be, for sure. It supports ARM processors, so with a lot (and I mean A LOT) of work, it could be even a daily driver. But because it is closed source, it would be illegal to run it on anything that was not running any Windows originally.
