Actually most of the "cordless" charging mats I've seen in checking them out have an "adapter" that installs on the device (usually a glove or case) that converts the energy from the mat to a DC current for charging devices.
That being said... I don't think anyone has an adaptor that will install (fit) the nook color... so I don't think[/b] any of them would work.
It could be done, no doubt.

Duracell makes a power mat that has several connectors for various devices you might try. Remember you will only get usb charging speed that way (about 10 hrs from 10%-100%) but it is worth a try if you let your nook charge over night.

Is it possible to charge the Touchpad with one of the original Palm Touchstones? I can't get hold of an actual Touchpad one so I'm limited to the little phone Touchstone.
Any idea if it will work?
I tried it earlier and could not get it to work. Maybe it could be modidied some how, but I havnt taken it apart.

The old Palm Touchstones don't work. Not enough power.
Has anyone tried using the power adapter from the touchpad, then connect that to the Palm touchstone to give it more juice?
Also, from an internal photo of the Touchpad it seem as if the receiver/coil/conductor/doodaddy/thingy is not central in the unit so perhaps it depends greatly on where you position the touchpad onto the touchstone?
Heres a photo of the internals:
www.techrepublic.com/photos/cracking-open-the-hp-touchpad/6253940?tag=content;siu-container
(Sorry, you'll have to put the URL back together as Im a new user and cant post links yet apparantly)
I assume that the greyish pad with the rounded corners is most likely the charging receiver (coil??) so that should give a better idea of where to place the touchstone. You should be able to figure out where it is based on the position of the buttons in that image.
MOD EDIT (LP) Fixed the URL for you
Using a Touchstone from the pre
you can get a touchstone for the pre pretty cheep (around $10). I know it's small, but would it work on the touchpad? maybe i can construct some type of larger holder with the pre's touchstone attached to the right spot. could someone who has both test it out and see it it does change the touchpad?
It will not work
Sent from my HTC Eva 4G using Tapatalk
do you know why?
iirc, the pre uses 1A (5V), while the touchpad uses 2A (5V).
not sure the coils are at the same size, so you may not get efficient charging (if at all.)
Craig
It won't work. I tried with both the Pre plug and the Touchpad plug. Doesn't matter where you place the Pre Touchstone on the back of the Touchpad, it won't see it and won't go into charge mode.
The induction charger from my toothbrush doesn't work either, just in case anyone thought of trying it (not my toothbrush charger but your own...)

I heard if you attach them to car jumper cables is works.... But you will need to use all 6 of them.
I read that it does not work. Touchstones are cheap now at $39, not the $90 they used to be. Just buy a touchstone.

I ordered from Sony mobile site.
I just recieved it, 10 mins ago, and the disapointment is HUGE.
This is NOT a wireless charger. In fact the charging goes via the two metal surfaces on the side. I've been wondering what they are for, but I guess this is the answer. It's nice to be able to charge without opening the flap, but still, this isn't the solution I was picturing when I read "wireless charging".
To sum it up: I payed ~50 dollars (360 swedish kronor) for a plastic piece with two pins that charges my phone through the side instead of USB. I've could've made a charger that works just as good myself, damn it!

Xperia V DIY charging dock
does anybody has plans on making a DIY charging dock? since i bought a nillkin case for mine, my phone will not fit in the regular charging dock. i'm thinking of something that uses elastic bands to hold it while charging. needs to be pretty compact so you can still take it anywhere.
I bought a dock.
Have been using it for a couple of weeks now.
It seem to only charge if the dock is connected to the wall socket. I connected it to a PC for recharge when I first got it. It didn't start to charge. I thought I bought a lemon.

Hi I wanna build my own cradle. Can you please measure the voltage of the pins. Are they 5V? Do you connect it with a simple USB Charger? Or is there a power supply?
I made my own one base on the Acro-S dock and Lego
Basically I want some advice from people on here.
I've broken my charger, the one that comes in the box. The plastic strip out of the port on the side has snapped off. (I use a 3 metre USB cable in it due to weird plug placement in my room, so the weight may have played a part)
What I have got is a HTC B270 charger from my One S I still have and a TomTom charger that can replace it with.
What I want to know is simple... Is there any pros or cons to using them when I can buy a replacement for a fiver off Amazon?
I'm being serious before anyone shoots me down, I know certain chargers charge faster than others and such.

Hello i just making this thread for people to share what you think is the best qi charger.
Things to leep in mind are time from 0 to 100 % charge. Desing, and also if the phone has to be placed a certain spot or anywhere..

I have this one. Don't know if it's the best, but it was a steal and it works great for me. No special placement needed. I can't test with a case, as I don't have one.

I've had a tylt charger and have loved it on my G2. There's no "sweet spot" because it just sits there. Nice because it's upright and you can see your phone. BUT...the note 5 doesn't work in portrait/upright. It cycles charge disconnect over and over. It does work perfectly in landscape though. I use it when im sleeping so no biggie. There are similar wireless charging cradles on amazon that say they work specifically for the Note 5. As for speed...they're all slow. Unless you get the Samsung fast wireless charger.

I am currently using this one I got from Amazaon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010B6PSMC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 They had a sale on it earlier and I got it for 25. I should have gotten a 2nd one, I love it.I have a case on it and do not have to worry about putting it in special spot for it to charge (works the same vertical or horizontal). As far as the time it takes to charge, it usually says anywhere from 1 to 2 hours when I place my phone on the charger. It may take longer but I usually not paying attention to the time it takes. If I am in a hurry to charge, I typically use my fast charger but otherwise I would place this on the wireless charger and let it do its thing. I did have another one that was a horizontal QI receiver and it was ok but too many times I put the phone on the charger before bed and wake up to phone that is not fully charge. With the CHOETECH Iron Stand QI Wireless, I do not have to worry about it. With so many other QI chargers out there for less, my only wish is that the price was little cheaper. Overall, I love this unit and highly recommend it.
There seems many users are talking about charging issues with their wireless charger. Luckily I had not such issue with my Iron Charger Stand so far. It works stable and its brushed aluminum matches my gold Note 5 device.

So with the tylt charger, with the note and s6 if you lay a pen on the ledge and then place the phone on top of it, charges perfect in portrait. The phone just needs to be pushed up about an inch to match up the coils I guess.

You can get optical USB cables, I've seen them in 50m lengths... They would probably cost a fair bit. They convert the signals to optical inside the plug and still pass power through the cable, but prob just up the voltage to compensate for the v drop.
