I'm just wondering if there are SLCD displays for the HD2.
Would be nice to have a bit more vibrant screen on my HD2 because it's looking a little dull.

Just out of curiosity, is there any AMOLED display for HD2?
The only thing that i envy about Desire is that bright & high-contrast display. I wonder if we can get something similar to that on HD2?
Highly doubt it.
too expensive. they wouldnt make. samsung wants it all for themselves. lol... =D
I have a Nexus One, and the only thing I miss from my HD2 is the LCD. People may think their better, but the technology isn't there yet. The top white bar at the top of the screen causes the pixels the die faster making that area a little darker than the rest of the screen. Hardly noticeable, but still there. It's impossible right now for a AMOLED on a HD2 because the biggest AMOLED for phones Samsung makes, is the one in the Desire. But, there is a 4" SUPER AMOLED in the Galaxy S.
AMOLED screen on HD2 would be awesome , but LCD is just fine , look nice and is smooth on touching
4.3" Galaxy S2 is SAMOLED
Could it be possible to put a screen of salaxy s2 to hd2???

If you manage to build one from scratch then yes.. Screen on phones are only meant for that model it wont fit because of shape/size difference and then there's the ribbons and the overall software to it
AMOLED sucks. SAMOLED is good

How do I know if my Nexus One is AMOLED vs Super LCD? YES, i know how nice AMOLED displays are, and in fact, I had a vibrant. They're gorgeous. The reason I ask is because the N1 I got, today, has a really nice screen that reminds me of the AMOLED on the vibrant, but I'm not sure if it's actually AMOLED or Super LCD since I've never seen a super LCD display, that I know of..
AMOLED screens have a "PenTile Matrix". Find a lupe or even try the water drop trick to view the screen pattern.

Boot into the bootloader. Check your MICROP version:
0b15 is AMOLED
0c15 is SLCD
Install a terminal emulator and type "dmesg", then scan the results for one of the following:
samsung_oled_panel = AMOLED
sony_tft_panel = SLCD
Got it guys, thanks!!
Hey guys! I want to know if I can replace the SAMOLED screen of my I9000 with a S-LCD screen from an I9003, I wanna know just in case something will happen with my screen in the future. If possible I would do this instantly since I'm tired of the burn-in effect from SAMOLED.
Hi everyone!
I have bought my nexus one used, and I would like to know if it has the amoled or the slcd screen.
Can someone help me?
Thank you.
Easiest way to find out? Start the phone in the dark. If you can see light where the screen is black, you have an SLCD. SLCD has a backlight that lights up the whole screen. AMOLED lights up each individual pixel, so a black is truly black and dark on an AMOLED screen.
Otherwise google will show up a lot of results on determining between an SLCD and AMOLED.
Thank you! I have the slcd..
But I still love my N1!
Supposedly, the SLCD version is a better screen and is better on battery with the more common uses. I have only had AMOLEDs, so I have never compared the two directly.
Hi everyone.
my lcd display has cracked today ( ), before i make an order of a new display i wan't to know if i can replase the lcd type (mine is samsung version) with the AMOLED display.
please help me.
Thanks.
Samsung is the one who made AMOLED. They started running low on supplies because of their Galaxy phones and so the N1 switched to the SLCD.
And one is not compatible with the other. If you cracked an SLCD screen, you need to replace it with an SLCD screen.
Google has a few ways to determine what type of screen you have if you are still unsure.
