Hey all,
I checked with a PDA technician, that is willing to replace the digitizer for me, at a reasonable price. The thing is, he told me that there are 2 types of Diamonds. One that the digitizer is glued to the LCD, and thus can only be replaced as a whole unit together with the LCD, and another one that can be replaced easily.
Does someone here know what he's talking about? How can I tell which Diamond I have?
Thanks a lot
Well the problem is that, I wanted to fix my HTC HD2 on my own, the glass broke, a day or two ago, so I started to carefully get it out, and when I got it out i realized i broke the flat connection thingy to the touch, therfore I wanted to hear if this was the right thing to buy, I took out the glass, and the black'ish plastic right behind the glass, so is this the right thing to buy or not?
mytrendyphone . com/shop/htc-hd2-display-22940p.html if it is not the right thing to buy, then please tell me what is the right thing to buy, I live in denmark, so a place the is shippin to denmark would be nizzle
Hi!
I'll try to help in case you havn't found a solution yet
I recently had a similar problem. I also broke my digitizer (touch screen, which sits ontop of the actual LCD) and needed a repalcement.
If i understood your post correctly then you broke the flex cable (i think it was flex) which connected the digitizer to the actual LCD. If so, then yes, your link is correct, however, the digitizer cable is SOLDERED to the LCD end (at least for the Europe models, i heard there was a "clip in" version for US models), therefore, if you aren't an experienced solderer (which i wasn't) or you don't know anyone who is extreamly good at it i recommend you buy a full set (LCD + digitizer). Search eBay for "LCD Display Screen + Digitizer for HTC HD2 HD II 2 Leo"
I ordered the same one & installed it, however, be careful when (dis)assembling the phone, especially when installing the LCD connector to the motherboard, i got it wrong the 1st time which resulted in the colors not to display correctly.
Hope this helps
Hello. I bought an used Milestone in bad condition: heavily damaged housing, non-working side buttons and touchscreen. I have replaced side buttons flex, housing and digitizer, but the touchscreen doesn't work anyway. I've noticed some suspicious places on the motherboard, I've rounded them in the second photo. Looks for me like some parts are missing.. What are these parts and can they make digitizer non-functional? Thank you
The flex between two halves of the phone looks suspicious too. I've ordered a new one and waiting for it to arrive. I hope that helps, but if not.. I don't know what to do

I'm not sure what specifically those areas of the motherboard do but I have a bricked Milestone motherboard in a drawer so I thought I'd take a photo to show you that yours is normal - as far as I know nothing is missing from those areas! From their size I'd say they were just connectors for small components, maybe on the other side of the board... Anyway, see attached. If you need them I can take photos of other parts for you to compare with.
Thank you! I hope that it's ok. Now I'll just have to wait for my flex to arrive. I really hope it will help
How would one do so? Are there any sources where I can just buy the lcd directly? The only place I've found so far includes both of them together, but I only need the lcd panel. etradesupply.com/htc/android-models/htc-one-m7/oem-htc-one-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly.html
So far, there are no known sources to get the digitizer and lcd separately, and considering that these 2 items are bonded together during the manufacturing process, they will probably never be sold separately.
Also, there is currently no safe way to replace any of the parts on the htc one. So far, getting the phone open has caused nasty damage to it.
Hi all,
I was looking to replace a frame assembly w/ the LCD and digitizer on my phone as the LCD ended up getting a line of dead pixels. I originally ordered a replacement and it overheated my phone and didn't work properly as it wasn't OEM. Buying a brand new OEM assembly costs more than the phone is worth, so I figured I would buy another used phone and do the replacement that way. One of the phones I was looking at is Aaron Center locked, but great condition otherwise and the identical model. I'm thinking that the lock only applies to that board, so would swapping my current board to that phone's assembly work out? Thanks.
The display has nothing to do with network locks, only the motherboard and its firmware.
