Killed my Tytn 2 ?

Hi guys, i have probably killed my beloved kaiser.
This is what i did:
- Flashed latest Hyperdragon III Rom - all worked fine here
- Sometime later i figured out that the phone was not able to connect to my PC anymore (tried different computer and cable, no change: unknown usb device)
- I then entered boot loader and tried to flash an older rom (Garmin DK 3) but it stopped at 16% and i had to enter boot loader again.
The result:
Now no pc is detecting the tytn 2 correctly (unkown usb device) on boot loader screen. I guess that the usb port on the phone is somehow damaged. Any suggestions ?

I just want to say that your phone not connecting was a simple thing.

Did you try deleting your sync settings?
Delete device from sync list.
unplug/replug usb. setup device again.
Or I have also had to un & re install Active-sync.
Hope this helps
nonono .. its not that active sync is not working anymore, its that windows detects the device either as unknown device (on bootloader screen!) or does not detect it at all. I even cant select USB in mtty.exe - active sync disabled. Iam pretty much sure its an usb port issue since my tytn2 have had always problem with usb cons (did not recharge and stuff). Before that issue my pc had detected the tytn2 in bootloader screen.

[Q] (Q) Hardbricked phone and usb doesnt work

It all started when my phone didnt connect to the pc with my own microusb cable anymore. After lots of reinstalling drivers i tried another usb port, now the phone did connect. In a rush i started up odin to flash standard firmware so i could get my warranty for the usb failure. Then during the flash the phone lost connection again and hardbricked. I can only get it to download mode but the phone has the usb problems mentioned before again, i cant connect to odin/kies/pc. all pc's told me that the usb driver could not be installed
try removing all usb drivers with usbdeview, make sure that KIES aint running in the background, boot phone into downloadmode, connect is and as soon as you'll see the yellow com-port sign; hit start (with the proper .tar files at pda/phone/csc).
only one way to find out =/
Thanks for the help but the problem is that the yellow com-port sign wont come because the device isn't recognized.
You have download mode but no USB .
Remove existing KIES and all USB drivers reboot reinstall KIES and try .
Not work try on a different PC .
But unless you have fixed the initial error you are wasting your time .
Initial Error you said >>>It all started when my phone didnt connect to the pc with my own >>>>> microusb cable <<<<<<<<<<<<< anymore

Tried another cable and another computer, still no connection. I think probably an internal failure in the phones motherboard?

[Q] Phone semi bricked and unknown device in download mode

Hey all,
I've got a problem related to my Micro USB port (at least I think it is).
[Long story]
I've got a very annoying issue right now. Today I flashed Team ICSSGS RC4.1. Later when I connected my Galaxy S to my PC with the usb cable, no recharging icon appeared and my pc did not react to the connection at all.
Thinking it was a bug in RC4.1 (as OneCosmic RC 2.3 had the mass storage issue) I searched the ICSSGS thread, but not a single issue about mass storage mode was posted. So I flashed Devil kernel, hoping to fix it, but it didn't. Reflashed RC4.1, but problem still persisted.
I went radical and recovered a nandroid backup in CWM of ICSSGS RC3.0 (the one is was running earlier today), but somehow the recovery failed and left me with a semi-bricked phone. (Actually the 2nd time in a row when recovery semi-bricked my phone.)
Only download mode works. Recovery and normal boot bootloop.
[/Long story]
In short:
When connecting to PC to flash with Odin:
-At first the PC did not even notice the phone being connected through USB. Nothing happens.
-After blowing in the contacts of the Micro USB port, PC recognizes connection, but gives "Unknown device" error upon connecting. Reinstalling Samsung drivers does not work at all. Tested on laptop and home PC.
-Somehow I always have to blow into the Micro USB port to create contact and to get the PC to recognize a connection. But that's about it. "Unknown device" every time.
-When I plug in wall charger, the big battery icon appears, but stays grey all the time and after half a minute the phone boots, starting the bootloop.
Could it be that my Micro USB port is broken?
Any solution for this?
Thanks in advance!
I feel so stupid for recovering that nandroid backup. Otherwise my phone would still be working...
you will need the nexus drivers for your comp found here : w w w.multiupload.co.uk/BUCFT8M42 as your samsung drivers are no use now.
Thanks for your advice: Going to test it right away.
Unfortunately your link does not work for me.
I had the same problem but replacing the cable solved it.
Sorry for the duff link http://www.multiupload.co.uk/BUCFT8M42N

Tested this morning with someone else's cable, still the same issue.
Tried the Nexus driver, but still nothing. Also having troubles again to let the usb connection register. It connected after cleaning it, but now it does not seem to connect at all.
Could it be that the phone is completely busted and therefor breaks usb connection?
Haven't heard such a story yet, but is it possible?
I've got it sorted out.
Since it might be helpful for others that are searching for a solution:
1. I cleaned out my Micro-USB port using micro interdental brushes and a few drops of isopropyl alcohol. It also doesn't hurt to clean the contacts of your USB cable, just to be sure.
2. Connected the phone to my PC. This time my pc recognized it as a serial gadget.
3. Disconnected the phone and installed Nexus S driver (because of ICS rom on my Galaxy S)
Next connection my device was automatically recognized as an android phone.
Odin saw my phone as well and I could flash again!
My phone is back on Team ICSSGS RC4.2.
Thanks everyone for helping!
Same Issue cant fix
Hey guys im glad to see others are having the same issue but i cant seem to fix mine.
Assume im an idiot and ive missed something out but ill explain my situation....
Galaxy i9000 - windows 7 32bit - put ics on it a few weeks back following a guide on youtube (had never used odin or anything like that before) got it working but now have no usb comm options in the ics settings. now when i plug the usb (when it does detect at all) it says driver havent worked - device manager shows unknown device - i try update the driver and it says the best driver is already installed.
Im completely stuck and want to revert back to gingerbread so i can use my usb functions again. If i can get odin to see my phone again ill be relieved.
Any ideas?
Cheers guys! Seán.

But most of all, check your usb cable and try switching to another USB port after rebooting your PC

[Q] USB not functioning - intermittent ADB

Hi guys, hoping someone can help ?
As you see from the title, my HTC One fails to connect to the computer, Here's what ive done to try and remedie the problem.
Removed and clean installed latest HTC Sync and drivers
removed SDK and ADB, updated
rebooted phone
switched on and off
tried several roms
tried 3 different usb cables
tried 5 different usb ports
tried 2 different PC's
My phone sounds like it tries to connect to the pc - with the typical windows noise, then disconnects almost immediaetly, then reconnects then just keeps doing that, my pc comes up with installing drivers, then fails to instal drivers, saying phone not connected, once ive tried this once the phone need to be rebooted before it will attemp to connect to the pc again ---- but fails again
software wise the phone runs perfectly , other than the usb connection problem and charge problem with pc.
The phone charges first time, every time with all my usb cables and htc chargers
im trying to downgrade or reflash hboot 1.55000, just incase this has somehow went corrupt on the usb commands side, but without adb ect it seems almost impossible,
have any of you guys experienced anything like this or could offer solid ideas on how to re-flash hboot from the file located on my phone ???
all help appreciated
running ardh 13.4/22.0, hboot 1.55, cid = supercid, unlocked, s-off
I would simply go back to stock and return via shop in uk - to see if i could get a replacement, but getting there seems impossible - if i can simply get the pc usb problem sorted - all will be fine

Are the chargers working fine? or are they giving you intermittent charge/no-charge cycles as well? in which case it could be your USB socket is damaged or dirty, try cleaning it with a compressed air tank (or whatever it's called )
Are you also facing the problem in bootloader mode (ie fastboot)?
hmm, will give the usb socket on my phone a clean. Im charging completley fine with chargers and usb cables from mains, when i install htc sync(latest) it installs no problems, then i plug phone into pc, the usb connected appears on phone and then disappears almost imediaetly, the pc sees ive plugged something in and straight away tries to instal drivers - but then comes up with drivers were no installed correctly, also then the phone fails to charge from pc, if i reboot phone - and plug in it will run through the same install cycle again , as described above., basically all drivers fail to install when i plug phone in, its like the phone connects then instantly disconnects.
I ll clean port and post back, could make a difference if a pin has a high resistance contact , thx for info will give it a go
