Managed to extract the baseband files from the KDZ upgrade, so here they are for your pleasure. Flash all four files in order from the largest to the smallest.
1. R375_SIC.fls
2. AENEAS_FW.fls
3. slb.fls
4. psi.fls
Please follow the instructions from Paul's thread here. You can also find the Smartflash tool and the drivers overthere.
To use P990 flash to flash this baseband:
Download the utility file from Paul's thread.
Download the driver file from Paul's thread.
Download the baseband file below
Run the SmartFlashTool_P990.exe application on your PC
Turn device off, remove battery, plug device in while holding volume down - you should see a software update message on screen and the COM port should be filled automatically in the flash application below after installing the drivers if required.
Select the 'ROM Copy D/L' tab
Ensure 'Normal Mode' is selected
Ensure 'Erase CAL' is NOT selected
Click the browse button next to 'CP Bin:' and select the baseband (FLS) file
Click 'Start' and wait for the flash to complete
Please follow the last 6 steps for each of the four files.
Download the 0725 baseband from v20m here (multiupload). RIL for v20m is here.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE.
Thanks! Where's ril file?

v20l and v20m prove that if you do NOT use the baseband that comes with the release, you usually get Fastdormancy issues (the phone jumping from HSDPA back to UMTS). This causes batterylife to decrease... a lot. We found first first Topogigi's roms that flashing the baseband that comes with the specific releases fixes all of these issues and improves battery-life. So it might mean that there are tiny differences between basebands, even if they are all called 0725.
You can recognize the errors by looking on the command-line (easiest way to check this is with terminal emulator), popping to root with "su" and executing "logcat".
FD not activated
D/GsmDataConnectionTracker(25463): LGE_Fast_Dormancy) Set Timer to 1000
It should actually say it is activated, but you'll recognize that straight away when you see it. Try it, and if you get issues with v20m, make sure to flash this baseband. I for example installed the deodexed v20m, and when I did, I got many FD issues on the v20l baseband. Today I flashed the KDZ with baseband and I have not of these issues anymore.
If anybody could try to flash this baseband, flash the deodexed v20m from the german forum, and confirm it works now this should be the one to use.
You can find the ril for the v20m rom here, also added to first post.

ril for v20M
I flashed this BB an then copied the RIL but after that the radio stopped working (no coverage). GetRIL said that the v20m RIL was identical to v20L Italy open. I used the BB with other RILs and they worked.
edit: I checked logcat radio and found errors like this one: couldn't find rild socket retrying after timeout.

Thank you. But still the questin stands . How to install the RIL?
You could use LG RIL application from Myrt to install RIL. Search market. Then copy the RIL to your sd card and allow the application to search RIL "Search Phone for RILs)".
Once find click on the desired RIL and reboot.
Hi!
I just wanted to update my BB. I flashed the 824, it wasn't good, so I flashed 823, but it wasn't good for me, and then I tried the v20m which is 4 separate files. When i flashed the first (the biggest .fls) my computer turned off... :S I thought i screwed up my phone, but it is working, it only doesn't ask my pin code.
When i try to flash it again with the smart flash it get time out error, the pic is attached.
What can I do besides send it back to LG and hope to repair it? :S
Thx in advance!
Update:
I solved the problem with flashing the v20m.kdz, following this tuto: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327929
The first time it was a bootloop but i made a factory reset with: power button (hold)+vol down (hold). After the restart all is good.
Edit: Is there a v20m BB which is only one .fls? I almost bricked my phone while trying to flash the 4 file version... :S
I have these errors sometimes as well with the four files. Because it doesn't even start flashing it is not an issue. Just try again and mostly the second time it works fine again. Don't worry
OMG, after I tried SU660 baseband to solve wired loss of signal and nvFlash to 28G rom and baseband for my made in Korean "P990", it couldn't make any in/out coming call on 3G/H mode.
Say, the internet connection is all right. But whenever I call someone, the call would immediately cut off(CM10 showed network busy, stock 28G shows Call Ended). And any incoming call is the same, cut off directly (it won't go to Voice mail so I would lose the call without signal).
Everything's fine on 2G/EDGE mode.
Thus, I try to nvflash/smartflash back to CM10/Gingerbread to test if this is 28G rom problem but the problem still exist.
I have also tried diff. rom, baseband and RIL but same problem as above, 2G works, 3G fatal problem.
My original rom is cm10 with baseband 725.
SIM card seems no error as it works on other phone.
Could anyone have any ideas to solve this issue?:crying: I can't live without 3G. Thank you in advance.
Could anyone quote the baseband and ril used for cm10? so I could test it.
sorry for my English BTW.

[Problem Solved]
This issue should be about the IMEI or CAL data.
I had fixed it by erase CAL data with smartflash and reset IMEI with hyperterminal.

There is no original CM 10 ROM with BB 725. Go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658047 by tonyp and go to the download section. Get the 2011-218-10b Baseband. Flash it accordingly. Install CM 7 or 9 via CWM and do not forget to format your system partition in CWM first. Can usually be found under 'Mount'. Oh, and wipe it too. After installation boot your phone and do not change the RIL. The right RIL is already in the ROM.
Test it and give feedback.

Thought that my guide would help you. Hm. Last resort: then try to flash a kdz file. Gingerbread e.g.
Will wipe everything and includes BB and RIL. Also wipes your internal SD and recovery. Try it.
If it isn't working then it is maybe hardware related and a possible case for the LG warranty. So kdz flashing would be a good idea anyway.

And finally i installed winXP for kdz and restore to v10f stock rom (kdz crash on win 8 and the installation takes me for over 2 hours). Under stock v10f & v20h, 3G is still not working. That are bad news. A lot of work for nothing.
Please try switching/changing the SIM card first. If it is really the culprit then your carrier shouldn't charge you for a new one. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend for testing your phone...
Sending it to LG is really the last resort.
Good luck!

Today I go to LG repair center for inspection. I find out that only my current carrier is not working. Say:-
Case one: my own Sims on my phone, don't work
Case two: my own Sims on other phone(same model P990), work (My Sims is fine)
Case three: other Sims with the same Carrier, don't work
Case four: other Sims with different Carrier, work
Thus, all Sims from my current carrier on my half brick P990 don't work. Other Sims from other carrier work.
The CS said the mainboard maybe broken after help restore officially and quotes HKD1600/USD200 for the repairing cost:cryingcost 2/3 nexus 4)
Just making a conclusion on it. Hope it could help someone with similar symptoms.
Maybe it's time to say goodbye to this forum and thank all contributed to my ex-phone.
Hi,
I have a strange problem. I am unable to make calls from my P990. If i try to make calls with UMTS active my phone does nothing. It is unable to call or get called from anybody. SMS do NOT work most of the time.
In GSM mode i can send and receive SMS messages and receive calls. But i can not make a call. It rings but when the called person answers the call my phone just ends it.
I think this problem can not be ROM based, because i switched from multiple CM10 nightlys to the leaked ICS by tonyp and harsh a few days ago and the problem is still there. While i changed the rom i did every wipe i could find, cache, davlic cache, internal sd and factory reset and fixed permissions as well.
Before switching to the leaked ICS rom i tried different (at least five) basebands to overcome the in call audio bug (loud strange noise on the called persons side) which worked for a few days, but then started to develop this problem. With the leaked ICS rom i tried both the P990_V28E_00_CP.fls and P990_V28G_00_CP.fls from tonyp's download site.
Can anyone think of a way to solve this really annoying problem?
If you need more informaion, like log files, build numbers, etc. please let me know what exactly and i will try to provide them to you.
Thank you for your help.

I tried this today, same problem here.
Something i forgot to mention is that when i try to call somebody and it does not connect i have to force quit the connection to the mobile network to end the call attempt from the phone. So i have to either switch in to airplane mode, deactivate the mobile network or switch from gsm to umts or the other way around.
If i do not do this the phone will try to place the call as long as possible with no result.
Do you think i should try and go to stock froyo and see if the problem persists?
u can try to nvflash the stock rom.it'll be clean then.
i-ve had the similar problem with leak ics rom.
my sim was over 10 years old and after changing the card problem was solved.
my telecom gaved me newer one with the same number.

I flashed the stock (2.3.4) rom (kdz version) with AIO-P990-ToolKit_v1.1-fixed which uses the official LG flash tool after making sure to have the gingerbread partition layout.
So now i have an old system V20Q_00.kdz with Baseband version 1035.21_20110725 but i am still unable to make any calls.
I will try to match baseband and ril next, but if this does not work i have no idea what else to try.
Anyone else?
Thanks.
OK, didn't work either.
Next try is the rom and the baseband from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504280.
ROM: Gueste2X "GoodBye" v2.0R
Baseband: v20l, 1035.21_20110725
Sms work without any problems, but the main problem remains. Calls, last about 3 seconds. Regardless wether the called person answers the call or not.
Calls to me are working perfect. Checked my APN settings and they are find to.
Is there any logfile i should provide to help track this problem down?
Any hints, suggestions ?
Thank you.

Well now it becomes really strange.
I tried a different sim card a few days ago. Same problem. Unable to call anybody. Today i tried it with yet another sim card. Calls worked perfect.
The only difference between the sim cards is the following. My original sim card is from bob (virtual provider from A1) and the first sim which did not work is from A1. So technically they are from the same provider. The one which worked is from a different provider (telering).
What adds to my confusion is the fact, that my sim card works perfectly in another P990 without any problem.
So somehow the combination of my P990 and sim cards from A1 and its virtual provider bob do not work. They send me a new sim card during the next week. If it works i'm happy and can finally make calls again.
If not i will change provider. :crying:

Hi
My phone suddenly stopped detecting all sim cards ( I have tried various working sims ).
It is running CM 7.2 and has been running cm 7.2 for a few months with no problems.
Today I took out the sim and put it back in to reboot, all was fine. I went to shower, came back and the sim suddenly stopped being detected.
I have tried to google but it seems most problems are to do with flashing a new rom and having the sim not work, my case is that the rom has been the same for a few months.
I have tried to flash different roms and I still have the same problem. I have a gut feeling it is the hardware that reads the sim that is faulty.
I have read something about a baseband, I dont know what that is but if it helps, when i go to the settings and click on 'about phone'
It says there is a baseband and it is version something. There are no question marks or anything like that.
I appreciate the help and would love some more troubleshooting suggestions.
The worst case scenario is unrooting it, flashing stock rom and send it back to warranty. I actually don't know how to do that so if anyone has a guide lying around please link me on that.
I have similar problem with new boot loader.
Download getril app from play store and see if your baseband is OK. If not, download and flash matching baseband from development thread. You will loose all personal data and your apps after flashing. Then download new ril with getril and reboot. Good luck...
This method was no helpful for me. Maybe you will have better luck.

Thanks for the reply,
When I first opened getril, it said RIL not found, I did not have one. I downloaded one and then it said RIL does not match. I then redid it on another firmware and it now says RIL and Baseband matches. Is this enough? The only weird thing is the baseband has canada and europe in it. I am from Australia. How do i tell which baseband/ril I need?

You can flash as much as you want, none of that will help. Had same issue once, flashed almost everything there was through SmartFlash, NVflash and all of that. This is what you need to do:
First, remove the battery from your phone. Write down the IMEI. Now boot up your phone, write *#06# and see if the IMEI that pops up is the same as the one you saw behind the battery. If not, let us know and I'll hand you the solution, but first check if the IMEI matches.

I checked the IMEI and it matches.
I have some extra information if it helps, when I choose a random RIL from getril, the battery might become a ? mark and the sim card not detected error doesnt show anymore, however when I put it back to the original RIL, my battery bar starts showing the 'power left' and also the sim not detecting error shows again.

I get the SIM Toolkit Incompatible Handset error and then whether I press OK or Cancel, shortly after I lose mobile network access. I've been trying all manner of different things, Smart Flashing, NVflashing, changing basebands, Rils, you name it.
I'm currently on the V30B root ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2064793 and the Ril matches the baseband from that ROM, but that hasn't helped either. So I went and check the in phone and behind battery IMEI and they are different! I'd love to hear what your solution to this is!

IMEI Solution
If IMEI does NOT match, you will need to do this:
Check if you can get in a menu by typing 1809#*990#. If you can't, you will need to use a GB ROM (I remember I used Homero's GB NVFlash as I was on ICS bootloader and couldn't get access to it on ICS). Follow these steps if you are sure you can get into the menu:
1) Connect your phone by USB.
2) Enter 1809#*990# in dialer.
3) Select Port Setting -> Select CP USB
4) Install a program called Hyperterminal on your PC and open it. In COM settings select same port as in device manager -> LGE Mobile USB Seial Port (should be 115200)
5) Type at%imei and it should respond by saying OK
6) Now type at%imei and it should now display your current IMEI number.
7) Type at%imei=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX where X is your original IMEI number.
8) Reset phone.
You might have to reboot your phone after step 3. But see if it works without.
I have been thinking that this is a hardware issue, I have not changed a single setting/rom/baseband at all, the sim just wasnt detecting when I came back to my phone. The rom and settings were the same for a number of months.
I am now going to give it in to warranty, however it only has 1 month left. I have tried to install the stock firmware but with no luck..
I found a rom to flash for my region, it is a zip file but when I try flash it with Clockworkmod, it says installation aborted....
Shouldnt I be able to flash the roms with CWM? The file is a zip file just like the CM7.2 rom I flashed. Do I need nvflash instead? I found the rom here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852112 (the download links were removed so I googled the exact same rom)
I was also told that if I just use the LG update tool, it sohuld automatically update the phone to stock firmware AND unroot it, only that the update tool gives me an error. Whats the best approach guys?? I need to get this fixed before my warranty goes.

Trust me, you can try whatever you want. This is the only way to get it working. I spent hours and hours to figure this out, so I guarantee you it will work.

Your imei should not show in settings, it should show in the back of your battery and when you dial : *#06# into the phone (where you dial numbers for calls).
Cant help you with baseband.
OP here, I am trying to unroot my phone and put stock firmware to get warranty to fix the simcard reader ( i believe it is a hardware issue ).
If I use nvflash and flash any stock firmware I can find on the internet, will that be OK? I have a feeling each region of optimus 2x has slight differences in firmware, eg swedish stock roms and australian stock roms may differ in the default applications etc.
Will it be ok to just install any kind of stock rom for my warranty? Help would be appreciated my warranty is running out in less than a month now.
I also tried to flash stock firmware with CMW, it didnt work. I am about to try NVflash, so I went into greater detail in page 1 but no one replied yet. If you guys know please help. I am more familiar with CMW than NVflash. I have not used NVflash yet.
hahah after 2 sleeples nights i menage to restore my sim to be recognize ,whit this metod,.. NFlash rulles ))

I managed to get an old CM7 install back on the p990,but the above is still not working for me :/
After I finish typing in 1809#*990# in dialer, nothing happens. If I press the green phone handset icon to dial that number it comes up with an error message of "Mobile network not available".
Any further advice? Thanks.
Okay, I failed at reading comprehension – it has to be an LG Gingerbread ROM for this code to work, NOT a CM-based one!
Trying one from somewhere-I-cannot-link-to-yet
Success! Once I was back on the original stock LG Gingerbread ROM, I could reset the IMEI and make/receive calls again using this method. Thank you very much!
Now all flashed back onto a nice "working" nightly CM10.1 and a very happy little device.
Many thanks all.
Hi,
Anyone have a working link to "progmaq-default-cm-10-20121105 ". My Optimus 2x has been bricked as well, and can't find any other version of this on Google unfortunately
Appreciate all help.
Well i got a problem.
My LG optimus 2x doesn't want to make when it has full signal. And that's ONLY when it has full signal. As soon as I start calling it says call ended. Other people can't call me either. Everything else works fine from internet to messaging (receiving and sending). I have tried numerous basebands (0725 v20q, 0725 v10d, 0218 v10b) and the one I'm on now which is V30A.
I'm currently running stock LG 4.04.
I have tried the phone with a different sim and it still didn't make calls.
Switching to 2G or turning airplane mode on/off doesn't help neither doe turning on wcdma or gsm only signal.
I was installing the basebands with LG P990 All in one ToolKit.
ANY HELP GUYS.
Thanks
Switch to a custom rom ^^
Already tried it doesn't help. I will flash Avatar ROM again but first i want to fix this
Nobody knows? I don't think it hardware since the phone can make calls but only when its not on full signal.
Could it be IMEI problem?
Have you tried a different sim card?
Dial *#06# and see if your imei appears
IMEI problem what do you mean by that?
The IMEI does come up.
And yes i have tried different sim cards with the same result.
Does the displayed imei match with the one printed on the sticker under the battery?
Yep they match.
You have the problem which I had when I was using su660 basebands. As I see you were trying p990 basebands maybe you cold try a su660 baseband. Here's the su660 baseband with it's ril Flash the bb with smartflash, then if you are on stock or stock based rom copy the ril file to /system/lib and set the ril permisson to rw-r--r--
Will try. I'll post back if it works or not.

Looks like i can't past it inside /system/lib because it keeps saying that the system is read only.
Should i Flash Avatar ROM so I have full control?

Of course, flash avatar rom or any other which grant you root acces or just root your stock rom, but if you still have that problem without changing ril it just will be a worthless effort.
If you still have that problem try this. Maybe it wil help. I know it is for fixing some kind of wifi-mobileinternet transation thing, but you can give it a try, you will lose nothing. Read carefully the post. I think there is nothing to worry about. I perfomed erase CAL numerous times without no problem. I would recommend putty instead of Hyper Terminal.
same problem
i am also facing the same problem

kernal pengus 124

Erase CAL deletes the calibration data in the radio. By radio I mean that part of the phone which is responsible for catch signal/network. When you perform Erase CAL you lose your IMEI, but you can restore, that forum link I sent describe it how to restore your IMEI after erase CAL.
Answer to your second question: You can only use erase CAL when you flash baseband, and you need stock rom to restore your IMEI.
Why you need stock rom? You need stock rom because it has Hidden menu which is missing from custom roms. Hidden menu is essential to restore your IMEI.
You can find your IMEI on your phone's box or on the sticker under your battery, or type *#06# in the dialer and it will show your IMEI.
I suffered from this problem when I installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus. It automatically enabled its filter and I couldn't make or receive calls, depsite the signal strength or 2g/3g.I disabled the filter and it worked after that. Also, unrelated, but I also suffered from a problem where after a few calls/texts/switching data on/off, I would lose connectivity until the next reboot. I solved it by disabling automatic time and automatically setting the time using the clocksync application from the play store. Hope I helped, good luck.
