Hi -
Is there any1 out there having Danish Swype for JVR rom ?
BR.

It's possible to use Swype included in XWJVH.
Only read this on Ramads [Firmware] -thread that 2.3.3 CSC is OK with JVR.
Either select CSC = XEEJV3 when flashing,
OR
[Risky operations] pick the files listed in /system/CSCFiles.txt on XWJVH ROM:
Swype.apk
libswypeCore.so
and swap according to this on DeOdexed rooted JVR.
Sent from my GT-I9000
Been wondering the same. Samsung should just release the damn thing officially already
Danish swype is included in MilkyS.Mod, which is JVR based, very close to stock, but far better.

fastest way if you are on deodexed system
is to find some old 2.3.3 deodexed firmware that includes such swype
and copy
/system/app/Swype.apk
and
/system/lib/libSwypeCore.so
to same locations in your phone
no need to install whole theme suggested

So, I have a stock Samsung firmware (ends in JP9). I'm currently on Darky's 7.5 but I'd like the stock messaging app from JP9 as it has the Finnish qwerty, the letters ä and ö, etc... So am I able to extract that mms.apk somehow from the rom?
Edit: the stock JP9 is on my hdd and it should be extracted on my laptop. Any chance?
I am a Bell i9000m user -- I'm using Froyo right now (JL2 modem) which uses the 850 hz band
I desperately want to go to a Gingerbread ROM.
I understand before flashing roms via CWM I need to change the bootloaders to the new Gingerbread 2.3 models
Can anyone point me to directions as to do this (I think it would have to be done via ODIN I'm assuming?)
Also, do I use JV1 or JVK ? what's the difference ?
Cheers
You could try ezbase, it didn't work very well for me though. (errors on boot)

Otherwise, you could flash the gingerbread bootloaders, then your choice of gingerbread roms, or flash the stock deodexed JVB in ramad's thread, with odin.

So JVB is the one to go with ? I am gonna flash the bootloaders first to turn it into a stock Gingerbread phone then go from there.
What do you mean by stock "deodexed" JVB ? what's the difference between deodexed and/or the original stock ? Sorry I'm still kinda new / learning

yes definitely go with JVB bootloaders (e.g here, for files and instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047924) and install a good base rom (e.g.Docs, Simply Honey or Stock Rom) that installs the full JVB in ziplined and deodexed form: this will aloow you to add features and themes later. If you only install the basic odexed JVB you cannot add themes or apps without risking (and incurring, boot crashes).
After you have the Rom installed you can go back to Odin and flash the KC1 modem if the JVB modem doesn't connect with Bell (or adjust the settings as per here on how to activate the necessary band within any modem).
You can than flash any custom kernel if you want to further tweak and adust your system. (Warning, this does get to be fun).
Docs didnt work as well as i'd hoped, i ended up going with Bezke's rom - plus it already had the theme i was planning to install haha.
Hey guys! i have a i9000m galaxy s. Itts running darkys 9.5 ,darkcore 1.4 and JVE modem. I need to send it away but im not 100% sure on how to return this phone back to COMPLETE stock! any tips? thanks guys!
returning to stock
Hi, just grab the ROM from Samfirmwares.com (Froyo or GB) and flash it with Odin, ticking repartition (going into Download mode). I suggest you to get the JVH version as this is the one that will be released by Samsung these days. Then install ramads Deodexed ROM over it to get better performance. Now you have stock ROM. Anyways, I recommend you to flash Juwes ROM on top of it that is as stable as stock and just has another theme besides several improvements under the hood.

There's the link to the firmware section:
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
You have to register to be able to download.
Grab I9000XWJVH ## CSC = I9000NEEJV3 (CSC for nordic countries).
Then unzip and flash according the guides here or at samfirmware.com
no no no dont flash gingerbread 2.3
it is not out officially yet, well for most of us it is not. unless kies says its available dont use it.
flash 2.2.1 froyo, this is available world wide and will stop the nasty men at samsung raising their eyebrows.
hi,
i am using a samsung galaxy s, trying to figure out if it is a deodexed rom or not. i installed the XXJVO_XXJVO_OXAJVO update from samfirmware.
how do i find out if its deodexed?
thanks
It's stock, so I'm almost sure it's not deodexed...
deodexed or not
you can very easy figure out if your rom is deodexed or not.
install from market root explorer or super manager (free) and then navigate in /system/app and then /system/framework and look there for odex files. If you can't see any that means your rom is deodexed. Of course you must first root your galaxy.
I hope that this guide wiil help you.

All samfirmwares are stock odexed firmwares. You want deodexed you need to navigate to Ramad's thread containing stock odexed and deodexed firmwares
Sent from my GTI9000 using XDA App, gingerbread 2.3.3 JVO rooted, ADW launcher + gingerbread theme
what are the effect with odex and deodexed??
