HELP! Can't Load Rom - Don't Want A Brick!

Guys,
I just tried to upgrade to a new ROM on my Cingular 8125. I have upgraded from the original rom to a Mr. Clean AKU 2.3 Rom a while back. This time I tried to load Ell's AKU 3.2 Rom.
Anyway, my computer locked and restarted during the flashing process (99%)
My phone turns on and shows the colored bar screen (is this called the bootloader?). This is all it does. I'm not sure how to try and fix this. I'd like to try and reflash a rom; however, if I try to do that I get Error 260. This error says it can't find the phone which is easy to understand since Activesync can't connect since the phone won't boot.

i had this very proglem... TURN OFF THE PHONE ASAP.. as the bootloader screen will drain your battery very quickly.... reset computer and phone... plus in the USB cord.. and in the booth loader screen in the lower left corner.. you should see USB!!! just flash workin room.. and you should be set to go.. i believe>.

When I plug the phone in it does show USB in the lower left corner; however, The rom update utility can't see the phone.
Am I doing something wrong or should I be trying to install the rom in another manner?

hmmm i dont know... try restarting both devices.. other then that i cant hlep ya.. im still new to this...

USB means it is connected.
Again, keep the battery out when you aren't doing the flash. Reboot the PC in case the link is down.
Try flashing a stable ROM, like the Mr. Clean one you used before. Activesync doesn't need to operate, the ROM will see the wizard if the wizard says USB.
Zonealarm actually interferes with my ROM flashes, although it prompts me to see if it is ok; you might turn off your firewall prior to doing the ROM flash. If you do so, disconnect from the web.

I have also the same problem with my XDA 2 mini or the other called this the HTC Magician. I try to UPgrade my Radio 1.03 to 1.12. and when im applying the upgrade procedure the Upgrading stops and error. What happen now is my XDA 2 mini or HTC magician doesnt open now. only the word "SERIAL" and when i plug the USB, the word "USB" show on the screen................... Is there some one can help me pleasssse with my problem....

HardSPL Update stops at 0%

I have this problem if i want to update my SPL to HardSPL, i does not flased anything yet, because i get my phone today!

Try another version of HardSPL.

i second that use a differant one.

I tried all Versions of HardSPL but nothing works ...
btw. is it rght to go into the colored screen by turning off the phone, then turn it on with the volume down button?

depends what version diamond rom you have and to wich rom you want to upgrade, its usually mentioned wich spl is best in the rom-thread
rushing into this forum and blindly flashing can lead to a brick aka dead phone so take great care when proceeding

I'm having the same issues and I tried all the HardSPL versions myself.
once the upgrade begins, the phone screen just hangs and the installation is stuck at 0% for a while. After which it gives me either one of the following errors:
Error 202 Connection
Error 260 Connection
Only a restart of the phone will release it from the hang.

Yes I used it, but no luck.

i have same proplem.. first everything looks just fine but when i try to update it stuck couple of seconds at 0% and then it gives error 202

Cant flash rom any more

My first post - weee
I been reading and learning from this forum for quite some time now. And I have flash my rom a few times succesfully.
But I upgrade recently to wm 6.5 with the original rom for HTC.
Its not as good as my 6.1 rom, so i have tried to install a different ROM with wm 6.5.
My problem is that it starts ok - the tricolor screen comes and it says USB in the bottom of the screen. The screen then turns white and a status bar is shown (and on the screen of my pc as well). It says 0 % and stays there for 5 minuts or so. Then it says Error 262 and the I have take out the battery and start med phone again.
When i remove the battery and starts the phone im back to my old wm 6.5 original rom - so no harm done.
Why cant i flash my phone ?
I have tried (after reading a lot) to
- unlock the CID ?
- Hard reset
- Soft reset
- using a different rom
Am I missing something or ?

Try flashing from the card rather than PC. or from PC but take out the sdcard. Also make sure you have Hard-SPL still.

take out sd card
do hard reset
do wipe data
go to step 0 and begin with unlocker
flash stock rom
now flash rom you would like.
worst case, if you have trouble flashing it - key--combo to bootloader and flash/hardspl from there

I unlocked the phone using HARD SPL after removing the SD card and flashed it.
It works

Do you have a HardSPL? If not, then you won't be able to flash. You need to do some more reading.

YOU need to do some more reading. Specifically one post above... the OP had fixed his issue with HardSPL...

I had that problem a couple of times actually. For me, it was that my port isn't quite as tight as it used to be. (That's what she said) So I just have to make double sure that my phone doesn't move during the flashing sequence AT ALL. Otherwise the same problem will occur.

Rom Upgrade status stay at 0%

I have HSPL installed and running stock WM6.1
Before installing one of the cooked 6.5 Roms I wanted to install the stock WWE 6.5 Rom.
All the usual things happen including the tri colour screen and then the status bar on both PC and TP2, however the status stays at 0% and eventually times out.
What's going on here?
I have dome many successful Rom updates with my old Kaiser but my TP2 continues to give me grief in this department!!

If your doing it from your pc try doing it from your sd card instead. Also make sure the rom is named Rhodimg.nbh

Change USB cable, or try SD card method as the other one suggested.

Yes flashing via SD card is the best and fastest way to flash.

And if you've already formated the phone ?? :s

error 262 on HardSpl need advice

Not a noob to this, but new phone.
I have a Rogers GSM Xperia x1a
and i have tried everything i have read, and am simply trying to flash hardspl on this so i can continue onto doing a rom.
The PC gets to progress bar.. 0%
x1a matches 0%
never moves on either end,
then error 262 is displayed on PC
and i then need to remove battery from x1 to get it to reboot.
someone somewhere has had to bypass this.
I am in need of that knowledge.

ok, so i have been able to flash a rom, without hard spl....
and when i did this my spl is now 0.72
but i can only flash this one rom, and i dont even know what rom it is.
so im even more lost now.

i don't know witch windows do you have but try just to run the custum ruu with coptability mode win xp sp3

using vista, and it has to do with hard spl. or the phone itself, as i can update roms if they are stock updates.

Usually the 262 error has to do with not hard spled or not properly hard spled. Try to install hard spl again and check the tri color screen if it has really been installed.

well, i have no idea wtf i did.
well i do know i didnt do anything LOL
i decided to run hard spl 1 last time.
and ill be damned it worked.
no clue why but it worked.

just one advice. Please remove your Storage card before HardSPL X1
or else u will get error....while HardSPL
