[Q] A little camera related question.. - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As we all know, the X8 has a fixed focus camera, is there anyway that instead of fixed focus we could have an auto-focus feature added? I know the camera is hardware but wouldn't it be possible for someone to create a module or plugin of some sort that adds a focusing option?

No. As you said this is hardware-limitation. So if you trying to solve this by software, this is a no-go.

Would camera be affected by drivers update?

Perhaps a dumb question (if they even exist), but still - would camera fall under 2D acceleration category? I know it won't be affected by 3D acceleration..
Or is that due to the absolutelly horrible way HTC compensates for low light.. In that case - I wonder if we can use an altogether different camera app that handles low-light enhancement differently..
Anybody got any ideas?

Video recording problem

Hi all, noone know how to handle with the issue (and it seems is a common thing with a lot of rom) of Videocamera recording app, where the volume button dosen't control the Zoom in/out anymore after the update into 2.1? (i'm absolute sure when i buy it with 2.0.1 they works), it's really strange because with the photocamera app they still works.
The downside is, i can't find ANY third part app from market (or else place) for replace the default video recording application -.-
I'm hunting down a solution for that, any suggest? maybe install videocamera app from another device or whatelse?

[Q] How well does tap focus work with the Desire camera application?

I don't have a Nexus One to test it with. I have a G2; hopefully that device will have a similar Sense camera app port like the Desire camera for the Nexus One. I would just like to know how well tap focusing works on the ported software.
For example, would you be able to focus on a small bug on a log? The vanilla Android camera app can't do that. I tried it today. Parts of the log are clear but the bug was blurry.
It works exactly the same way as on Desire, and focuses on the tap area.
Not sure why is the question - it's only SW. The camera HW is exactly the same, so when you have the same SW - it works in the same way.

Stop Autofocus during Videos with stock Camera app?

Has anyone found a way to stop the ridiculous autofocus hunting/pumping in video mode?
I guess I could use another camera app but the stock one is the only one to offer OZO audio.
Thanks!
Anyone ?
Id appreciate it too, there should be a fixed focus option.
Yep, or at the very least the AF should be deactivated if you tap once to focus on a specific area.

Does recording from front and back camera work simultaneously?

t technically should have the hardware but software support is very finicky among manufacturers.
Can someone help me test with this app? You should be able to see both front and rear views.

Not working for me. The app only lets one camera feed come through at a time, if I switch the camera with the on-screen button it will switch but then freeze the other camera that I switched from. I couldn't get both to display at the same time.
