Hi!
I'm new on this group and I have recently installed Nova 7 on my OB. It looks great, faster than previous stock 10C version.
On my OB I'm unable to configure an static IP for wi-fi, on any field always returns 'no valid IP address'.
Thanks!

Anybody out there successfully doing IPsec VPN on a windows mobile device ?
I'm having a devil of a time getting anything working.
Thanks,

Well, I finally got my Android Samsung Galaxy S3 (ICS) phone to connect to the Watchguard XTM 5 Firmware: 11.5.2 using IPSec. I followed the directions given by watchguard for connecting an IOS/OSX device. Then it was a matter of what VPN client to use. The default Android ICS VPN client under network settings would not work. I noticed that Samsung included a Third Party IPSec VPN client "AuthenTec VPN Client v2.5.1" (not able to find it in the Google Play store). This app did the trick with the default IPSec settings for Preshared Key IKEv1, with the Aggressive mode checked. My co-worker has the Samsung Nexus Tablet with Jellybean (4.1.1) and the native VPN tool works from that version, with default settings.
This discovery brings happiness and rejoicing to our entire IT team who all have Android phones or Tabs. I use 2X for RDP, (which works well), and "ES File Explorer" (free) for SMB file browsing. With these two tools I can do just about everything I did on my laptop. Anyone have better or more tools than these?
I have also tested IOS and Mac OSX 10.6.8 native VPN tool and they work well, as well as the original SSL client that has always worked.
WatchGuard should totally go public with this, many would benefit. It works great! (I wonder if there are some security holes that they are aware of that's preventing them from announcing Android support officially...)
can you share sir what app you used for us to use? i have and S3 also and we have a Watchguard XTM 5

You could try this app:
http://code.google.com/p/get-a-robot-vpnc/
I haven't had much luck with it, the domain setting doesn't seem to work for me.
I'll post more detail later when I'm near a full size keyboard.

THX, gonna try this
Edit:
i was able to establish a connection, but only via WiFi, not via EDGE
What can i do about this issue?
Also, this whole thing is totally unstable...
Edit 2:
i was able to set up a connection ONCE... but never again =(
There is an app called vpn connections that I'm use fairly regularly to connect to a cisco vpn. It might be worth a try.
i did. the result is above your post -.-
no one to help me with this? =/

All the market apps like WIFI Static and IP manager do not work after the froyo 2.2 upgrade. Does anyone know how to get this functionality back?
Basically from home I need / want a static IP
All other locations dynamic.

Try static DHCP settings on your router. Assign your devices IPs based on MAC address.
bouncing now 2.2 has been out awhile.
Any PHONE solutions to this problem yet? or updated software available.
Well use static home and dynamic elsewhere.
You can go to wifi settings and use the advanced settings.
There you use your static ip.
And when you go but just untick it and you got dynamic settings.

I'm using CM7 v22 and am unable to get VPN working (also using latest OC kernel). On an earlier version of CM7 (or was it Froyo? - so many flashes, I can't recall) I was able to get VPNC Widget working. It got me into my company's Cisco IPSEC VPN. But now, no go. In fact, VPNC now reports thar it can't access TUN device and "advanced routing has been disabled." I don't know where along the way this capability broke. Has anyone got a working VPN application?
I have TeamViewer up and running it has options for VPN.
Installed directly from there website.
I actually was able to use VPNC widget to connect to my work's Cisco VPN- details are here
Am I missing a simple thing?
I have a stock 4X HD running on original 4.1.2 non-rooted. As per the instructions I see in the internet, I can input custom DNS settings and select a static IP using the "modify network" option if you long press the current wifi connection you have. However, once I select "Advanced options" all fields for custom DNS and static IP is grayed out. I can't even save.
I tried this approach on another non-rooted android tablet and seems working. Any help please?
Thanks!
