[Q] I9000 GalaxySENSE and GalaxyCOMB ROMs for Captivate?

I have gotten I9000 ROMs to install on my Cappy before, but now with both of Kenia1234's AMAZING GalaxySENSE/COMB ROMs for the I9000 I get an assert error(Status 7) when I try to flash it in CWM. Why is this? Any solutions would be Awesome!

I honestly dont know anytime about the romsb our the error. Just wondering if it has to do with version of cwm, ie v3 vs v2?

It does, and we are supposed to be on CWM 3.X.X.X

I think you have to have a special kernel for sense/honeycomb for it to work, also are you sure they are CWM installable and which CWM they are compatible with
also if no special kernel is needed make sure you have an I9000 kernel since that is what they are for

Im using a reoriented kernel, specifically for the I9000 Sense port, made to make it work on the Captivate. I'm no noob, not saying anyone is, this just really got my attention cuz I love sense and wanna try Honeycomb out for awhile!

Darkcore kernel over clock..

Hi. I just looked at the dev section but couldn't find the right darkcore kernel that would allow me to overclock my phone. Does anyone know a modded darkcore kernel that can be overclocked?? And is compatible with darkys rom 10.2 extreme edition?? Thanks...

Quite a few peoples are using Semaphore dude! Works a treat with Darkys 10.2.
I think Semaphore JVQ_1.3.3 in particular as Darkys is JVQ based.

DarkCore doesn't support OC / UV.

Semaphore 1.4 worked perfectly when I was on Darky 10.2. Didn't try OC/UV though.

Galaxian has been said to work nice with 10.2 aswell and has UV/OC

Semaphore allow OC. And it is stable too.
About phone:
GT-I9000
I9000XXJVQ

Check the DarkyRom forums beta rom section for the XXJVR rom (my url's get truncated so the title is here - [ROM][CWM][SGS+Cappy] DarkyROM XXJVR BASE
).
Download Tegrak app from Market which will still allow you to overclock. There have been a few iterations and believe Dark Core 3.0 is latest version. I am at DC 2.9.3 and was able to OC to 1.1 (1.2 hung on me but I understand am on a beta).
While I have SetCPU, I cannot OC but Tegrak app works on Dark Core (don't know how).

I checked the tegrak overclock app. I have the ultimate version and saw that I can set cpu freq to 2000 I think... I have the dark core from darky 10.2. I am not sure what.values to set on the app to have either overclock of 1100 or 1200 freq..

So far haven't gotten stable results passed 1.1. Keep getting hangs which need reboot. Even suspect about 1.1 so have kept quiet. Be curious what others have as well.

Is your setup on a I9000M Bell Version or the standard I9000?
And how long is your battery life?
I'm only messed with the Rogers Captivate with mixed results in terms of ROMs and Kernels so, I'd love to have the best rather then days of hit & miss again.

Bell I9000M. Battery life gets me through a full day with heavy use, recharge overnight -- no battery drain overnight if its already charged, use the phone too much to know how long it would go with just minimal phone use but that usage pattern also defeats the purpose of having a smartphone in the first place. Battery life is way better than when I was on stock 2.2 Bell firmware!
Tried lots of different combinations before finding damians kernel and then Brotuck's roms -- Tornado is the culmination of their close collaboration and it shows in performance. Yes you get speed, but you also get stability, smooth phone performance and good battery life.

Can we install the above said rom on standard i9000 ?

yes, lots of people have and it was developed on a regular 9000

Overclock help!

My set cpu prenium wont let me overclock over 1000mHz. It should be possible to get it to 1.2gHz. Help please?

Which Rom ? Dark core may not be a kernal that can be over clocked, was it the kernal that came with the Rom ? If so its still a stock kernal and you may need to flash another one.

Hay dude just download GalaxianGt or Semaphore 1.5.0 these are OC Kernel....i dnt think so darkcore is overclocked.

I don't think hardcore can be overcloked, try semaphore or another.kernel.

Right,darkcore is not for OC. Take Semaphore, Talon or Galaxian

U can OverClock a DC, but u need a TegrakOverClock App , bcz i install a OC module, like Voodoo Control Plus App

can i ask how i oc semaphore 1.7.0. until 1.5.0 i was able oc with setcpu,now in 1.6.0 and 1.7.0 i can't,what i need som script if i unerstand write.

But maybe ur kernel is not supported by other Programs,

no ,i figure out,i haven't now how to use script,but,now i do.no app could hellp,you just need to copy something from res-scripts to etc-init.d,enable oc must copy.thanks anyway

Semaphore 1.2.3s... stratosk implemented some parts of linaro with toolchain..... he owned it...amazingly fast kernel

There is only TEST version of 1.2.3 Semaphore Kernel.

U can use s vrrsion if u have f4k patch ....

I am also using RemICS rom 1.1
i flashed kernel script cleaner and then Semaphore 1.2.3 (without s)

i flashed 1.2.3 ....... its amazing
great game performance . great benchmark . really smouth
but i want to reflash it after the kernel cleaner script .(in case there's some mixed up stuff) . can you guys please give me a link to the kernel cleaning script ?
