I cant get into recovery (resolved) - HTC Incredible S

Ok so I can't boot into recovery when I press power + vol up or vol down.. so when I boot loop im gonna be screwed.. please help !
Rom is Android revolution + sense 3.0 parts flashed on.
Edit: the problem was with sense roms. Just turn off fast boot under power settings and it's good to go.

Have you tried disabling fastboot ??
If not uncheck fastboot option in Settings - Power - Fastboot and give it a go.

Your the man. I'll try that
Edit : that worked. I wonder what the fast boot actually does?

Fastboot makes it so your phone kinda goes into heavy sleep mode. It shuts down and boots up a lot quicker. As it doesn't need to fully load HTC sense and other apps.

So it eats battery when you turn it off?

Yes it is like hibernate mode on a laptop. It uses some battery to preserve the hibernates state, but not as much as in normal sleep mode.

[Q] Can't access hboot

I'm having problems accesing the hboot menu. It all started after I flashed a stock rooted ICS ROM (this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583028). I flashed the kernel manually as I always do, then flashed the zip. Everything was going fine, I uninstalled the bloatware using root explorer and the phone runs smooth.
Then I tried to install a camera mod,and I needed to access hboot, I proceed to turn off the phone and then power+vol down... I press those buttons for almost 1 minute and nothing happens, when I let go the power button the phone turns on again (as it should) but without accesing the hboot.
Is there any other way to access the hboot?
Thanks
Try pulling the battery put it back in then do the volume+ power or try quick boot from the market

Or use ADB commands to reboot into it.
I believe it's something like adb reboot bootloader.

Hi There,
This condition of phone is called ''BootLoop'' as the device keeps on restartiong/booting.
To Fix This Do This :
*Take your device to Recovery Mode.
*Scroll Down To Factory Reset.
*Press On/Off Key and wait till device will reboot Sucessfully.
## Note : This Will Delete All Your Data On Your Phone excluding
SD Card.
HIT THANKS.
Sometimes the problem is-the battery. It can move a bit at cause for your phone to restart. Just saying-if the hard reset doesn't work then this might be the solution

Recovery?

How to boot up mobile directly into recovery, i know how to do when mobile is turned on...

With the mobile turned off?
Power Button + Vol- Button
Sorry if that isnĀ“t that do you say C:
There's no way to boot directly into recovery, but power button + volume down boots you into hboot where you can choose recovery mode
Sent from my HTC Desire C
You can sometimes if youre using a custom rom and where its says shut down there will be other options

[Q] Device won't reboot holding power button?

Basically, Aroma froze while installing TrickDroid so I tried to send adb reboot recovery to the phone and got a nice message saying "error: device not found"
I tried holding the power button+volDown to reboot it but that hasn't worked. The capacitive buttons began to flash and I continued holding for ~1-1.5 minutes.
Is there anything I'm not doing correctly? I've been a long time lurker coming from a SGS2 and things are quite different with this phone so forgive me if I indeed am a noob.

Was, I managed to reboot my phone in bootloader mod, to update recovery and reflash one ROM
I've noticed with my Dev unit it won't reboot with the power + vol down buttons. I've gotten stuck in Aroma Installer a couple times like that. I just had to keep trying. It seemed to respond better when it wasn't plugged in to the charger, but that may be just me.

Yeah, I'd hold the power+volDown, just power, power+volUp+volDown and nothing was working. I unplugged it from my computer and kept trying to get the 2 buttons pressed simultaneously and eventually I did get it to work.
Already disliking the idea of a non-removable battery...

Aroma works fine on phones below 1080p.
Aroma must be fixed. We know WHY it locks up, it just hasn't been fixed yet.
I've had it lock up without touching ANYTHING.
Locked up on the first screen of a rom install.

I first installed twrp and it locked up the first time I tried flashing a rom. I switched to cwm because I'm much more used to that and I read aroma doesn't crash quite as often with it. Not sure how true that is but I like cwm better anyway.

Twrp crashed my first flash attempt and aroma mostly crashes right after the install is finished, during the install sometimes, and rarely when using the physical buttons to navigate it.
I haven't been able to use an adb command with either recovery when aroma crashes. Not sure if that's the same with everyone else.
