Tried opening camera this morning and it gave me the ...has stopped unexpectedly....try agin later... I've searched around and tried a few things but no joy so far.
-restored app
-erased data
-turn off-on
Its a rooted p1010 w/ stock rom obviously. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey if you deleted or froze the email that came on the phone you will need to restore it it some how is linked to the camera. That was what was wrong with mine anyway hope this helps
Ihadnt though of that I will give it a shot now

My camera stopped working too the other day. I had changed my resolution using LCDDensity and I sort of expected this to be the culprit and yes, and when I turned back density to 240 the camera worked again.
did it work ?
Ok tried setting density back to 240. No go. Currently running 165 but can switch back again if need be. Also, is the stock email app email 2.2?
Sent from my GT-P1010 using xda premium
Hm, I think that your changing the density and having the camera not working can't be a coincidence ;-). You may need to adjust some other settings after going back to density 240.
I use ADW Launcher EX and had all the icons set back to normal as well and I may have changed a few other settings in ADW (colums, rows and dock icon settings). Soft reset twice after this. It worked for me.
Ok I set density back to 240, completely uninstalled go launcher ex and themes, cleared caches, soft reset twice and it is still throwing me the error.
Tried so far:
-lcd density set back to 240
- reloaded and set up email which works flawlessly ( email 2.2, still searching around so see if 2.2 came stock and if I did upgrade it, would it affect camera)
-unistall of go launcher and themes/widgets <-- love this launcher. Dev's are awesome.
-cleared phone/app caches
-soft rest twice
Just want to add a side note real quick: this forum and its community are untouchable. [SOLUTION] "Android.process.acore" FC problem? Yet another solution. (LCD Density)
Hey guys,
For the last 4 days straight I've been pulling my hair out like mad trying to figure out what on Earth was making my Contacts shortcut on my Galaxy S GT-I9000 go mental and tell me that Android.process.acore was dead and must close (on startup of Contacts.apk).
Like 95% of the freaks here, I mess with my Android ALL THE TIME. Adding new widgets, making things look better, customised to my personal taste - you know, we all do it. Now, 4 days ago, I changed a few things and started getting the Android.process.acore FC error whenever I tried to access my Contacts. After a bit of looking around google and XDA, it seemed that the one cause was from having synced your facebook contacts to your phone and having an incorrect birthday. Now, I don't remember syncing any new contacts as I've had problems in the past with the sync program (not related to this).
To rid of this problem, I read that backing up then deleting the Contacts.apk & ContactsStorage.apk cache would solve all my problems; well, it didn't. Even having an empty Contacts file would still bring up the FC error. So after a few dozen attempts, I reflashed back to a stock rom and low and behold, Contact.apk would load up. HORRAH. Thinking it was just Android being silly, I restored my NAND and go back into things. Contacts.apk still working, nice; I'll just restore my widgets and background etc.... BAM, Android.process.acore FC again, what the? Nothing would open that damn thing again.
Ok, Reflashed back to stock; this time, restored using Titanium Backup. Nice! Contacts are back and working; just setup my widgets and Background again... BAM, Android.process.acore DEAD.
Now, after trying each widget one by one to see which one was killing Android.process.acore, nothing changed... no widgets killed it... was still working....
HUH?
Ok, continue using Phone - BAM, dead!!! ARGGHH
Then I came up with an idea. I had been using LCD Density Change. Now, I've had it on a value of 200 for months now with no problems at all... what was my setting at the moment? 180.
Yes guys, CONTACTS.APK HATES a LCD Density value of 180!!!
Can anyone else replicate this problem at all? I haven't tried any other values yet to see what works/doesn't work.
I'm using the lastest LauncherPro Plus & LCD Density Changer 5.1.
Hope this helps some people
thanks for the post i also have the same problem on my captivate
Lcd den dosent work on froyo...

Hana. Sorry. This happened to me ages ago and its a known problem which is even in lcd densitys faq. Contacts wont work below 200. I have since replaced my phone/contacts app with youlu free from market. Atakephone is also another good replacemnt

5.1 works fine on froyo
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
I can reproduce the problem on values 180 and 181 (haven't tried others yet). I don't have any problem though with a density value of 191 (my "default" density).
I suggest trying different values (maybe go lower, maybe go higher).
It is a well known problem that some apps FC on some specific density values. The "famous" FC is the FC-ing of the TWLauncher when you set it to a density of (I believe) 120 or lower. Please don't try this at home If you start up with that density and use TWLauncher as the default launcher all you can do is restore a nandroid or reflash the firmware. (that's why I explicitely advice in the help file of the Density Changer to first do a preview before saving the density as the system density)
@okpc Why would you say that? I also had some comments on the market saying that it doesn't work on Froyo. I never had any problem on any Samsung firmware Froyo version with it. Do you run a custom rom or kernel?
Note that different kernels can totally change the way rooting apps work on your device (and i mean totally). Or did you installed busybox? Note that all rooting methods install busybox by default except SuperOneClick... Second note: busybox installed by TitaniumBackup can't be used by other apps.
im getting this same issue but have not messed with the lcd density... i actually changed it to 225 to see if it would effect the contacts problem... but nah it didn't
i installed the contact.apk from sgs tools... but that didn't help still a FC when clicking it.
same problem on 180 density, but on 182 it working
DAMN IT. running KINGSROM HYBRID 3D and i have that problem. OVER AND OVER its acore acore acore acore FC FC FC FC. AAHH!!?!?!?!
difference between your problem and mine, mine keeps rebooting, and rebooting, and rebooting, never letting the home screen boot.
now i suggest, FCUK LCD CHANGER.
I've been messing with my Captivate a lot for the past few weeks, rooted and flashed once I got sick of waiting for an update. I've tried most of the major roms out there and am having a great time learning about it all.
I have a problem and would appreciate some advice on the simplest way to solve it. Whenever I try to enter the image gallery, I get a black screen for a few seconds, then it vibrates a few times and kicks back to the home screen and gives me a failure notification. It does this regardless of what rom I'm running so I'm assuming it has something to do with the file structure on the card? If I data reset, will this fix it?
I looked around but didn't see an apparent answer for this specific issue. Thanks
Try this, download sgs tools from market. Goto uodate stock apps select gallery

Hmmm, I downloaded it and it doesn't seem to do that much. I don't see any options like that for sure. What is that program supposed to do?
After I posted I realized the app I referenced is not on the market.
Have you tried deleting app data
settings, applications, manage, all, gallery, delete data

wow, thanks! That did it. I just upgraded the stock app and it's fine now. This app looks really useful, what are some of its other uses?
Secret codes gets you into a bunch of useful things
like lbs test mode for gps
the updated gallery you installed is also supposed to help battery somehow.
I do not use it all too much though, but I keep it around

So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing defaults and cache. Nothing works. Even reboots or Rom changes don't! Its making me mad. LP will not hold my settings whenever I reboot it to make the changes because it always forecloses. Any suggestions?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
That's because it sucks. Lol. I personally use ADW Ex and it has all the things LP does without all the bugs. Try it and you'll see what I mean.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Oh I have used ads, but I like how the dock bar slides so there are more apps down there. I really don't like having apps on the screen, to me it looks messy. Plus you can have custom icons. But if worse comes to worse, I have it in titanium backup

As far as your settings not sticking you can go into the system and delete the dbdata/databases/com.fede.launcher folder. I did this and it allowed my settings to stick. Make a backup first in case something goes wrong. Hopefully this helps.
Well deleting it seemed to help, but now all it does is forclose. Never had a problem like this before

I'm not sure about your fc's. Happened to me once with adw. I just flashed back to stock and a master clear with odin and started over. Not the answer you want to hear I'm sure, but it was what worked for me.
mine generally FC when i flash over a new rom before going back to stock
Hello. I'm sure this has been asked many times, and I apologize for adding another, but I still can't seem to find a solution to this. So the new market app v3.0.27 (is that even the latest version?) doesn't show all the apps, particularly in the "Top Free" section. It also won't allow me to download certain applications like Google Books. The market was running fine just a couple of days ago, but I don't know what's going on now. I tried clearing market cache and google services data but that didn't work ether. Any suggestions?
I am currently running Phiremod 6.3 with the transformbread theme.
Thanks in advance
This is happening to me as well. So far I've been unable to get Flash and Facebook as well as a few others. If I figure it out I'll update.

You can always try uninstalling the market updates. Or installing an old vending.apk
Use search, you'll find TONS of posts relating to this in the past couple weeks.
HRDLYWRKNG try this
First force stop market and clear the data and cache.
Go to system\build.prop
change the line qemu.sf.lcd_density=161 to 160
reboot and market should work
If you could see movies then you should be able to upgrade and download any app without issues
May I know if you are in America? If you are not, try VPN. For me after upgrade to CM7, Angry Bird and many other application only appear after I used an US IP addres..
yup changing the screen density to 160 worked like a charm. Thanks again guys
Those instuctions(pdf) worked for me.
You can also switch back to 161 after you get it to work. Market took up a lot of resources after time under 160. Also had a few problems with apps like the nook app. When switched back you will still have a working market
Skip everything I just said. It worked for a little bit but now it sucks again

As I have stated elsewhere, using 240 instead of 160 to fix market and it appears to work flawlessly ( no data clearing, no app problems etc). Going on over 3 days now without having to do a single thing with the market.
Dunno why this should be the case, but market really is more stable at 240 than 160.

I don't like my icons that big. I would rather go through the lame process of changing my dpi and clearing market every few days then to be stuck at such a large dpi. Maybe I will switch to 240 when I do it but it's not going to stay that way

Has anyone on the KF2 rooted had their statusbar flicker or would know the cause of or solution to the issue?
It just turns off then on, seemingly random. My turning on I mean it appears, the icons adjust to match, then it disappears about one second later, and when I try to swipe down on it, I can't get anything to happen.
Installed new status bars (non root ones) and it replaced the bar that flashes...but the same issue.
This happened after a boot from using KindleFree. I used most of the tools on it, if you want to know I can list them. The only thing that I can POSSIBLY imagine went wrong would be when I tried to see how it would handle the setting a laucnher. So I got nova, rebooted, didn't like nova, set apex as default by pressing home, and that was that. I can't find nova in my ROM toolbox list of apps so I'm not sure how KindleFree installed it, and I'm not sure if that even caused the issue.
Any ideas?
I planned to just reset, re-root and start from clean when I get home but I'm at work for the next 7 hours and I'd like my statusbar back haha.
Well, some update I suppose.
TabletBar Hider does something. When I open the app and press restore, it makes the statusbar flash and appear for a bit. It's the ONLY thing that seems to have a direct effect on when it seems to appear. I tried using apps that make the notification area appear, and those did not work.
My best guess is something is forcing it to close....but I'm not sure what, or why.
Suggestions?
Well.....I've fixed it.
I wanted the Chameleon launcher so I changed my build.prop so the market would think I have a Nexus 7. No, this did not work for the market (I think I need to clear the cache) but, my status bar works! No idea what happened folks but.....there you go?
This thread can be locked or removed or whatnot. Since I really have no useful insight as to what broke or fixed it.
Signs point to installing Nova with KindleFree broke it, and that changing my build prop from a blaze tablet to a nexus 7, fixed it.
It makes no sense to me either, but that's what happened! Oh well, at least it works now. Happy modding and New Years all!

Have you installed Gmail by any chance?
I don't have the kindle fire 2, I have the hd, but for me gmail is the usual culprit for that like mentioned earlier. Other apps have caused it though. Usually going through and opening all the apps you used before it happens will clear that up. I do believe it's some sort of issue with notifications.

How did I not find that thread? Thanks! It could have been. From my thread, you can see my fix didn't seem related to me, BUT, yes, I did install gmail using KindleFree so that may have spawned some issues. However, I have used gmail since, and no issues. I'm not really sure what changing the build.prop does beyond supposedly trick the market, which didn't work for me. Thank you though! Hopefully we get to the root of what exactly this is! Two issues so far, both fixed in different ways. If it happens again I will try your fix and if that works then it's for certain gmail and hopefully we can help future issue finders!
I'm rather curious of getting market to believe the kindle is another device... it would be nice to not sideload so many apps
If you have success with this please post back with your build prop edits
