My ttn2 with WM 6.1 suddenly not opening the windows messaging/email program. I received a new text message and clicking on the messaging on the home screen does nothing, as does the email button andthe start menu messaging link. I now have no access to email or texting on the Q. I've rebooted as well as taking out the battery, with no effect.
In researching the issue, other people have had this problem when storing email attachments on their microSD cards, but to change the attachment memory to main memory the email program is not getting opened...
The tmail.exe process does not appear to be running at all, and nothing happens when executing tmail.exe itself. My guess is that it is simply crashing silently on starting.
I'd rather not have to wipe it and start over. Any suggestions?
and ya I don't want to hard reset it to solve it.. so any .cab file of messaging program or any help...plz

When I get a new message and press the action button to open it email/messaging closes. Then I press the email button again and my message is open.
How do I fix this or what have I done to mess it up.
OK
Any ideas
WHenever I O open "messaging" and click on a received email "messaging" closes
I reopen "messaging" and presto my email is open.
What gives.
There have been a number of posts on this, with no solution. AFAIK, it's a bug in windows mobile. Mine does it too, it definitely gets irritating but after I go thru the process you mentioned once (after a soft or hard reset), it seems to open them correctly thereafter.
have either of you tweaked the location of the email attachments Some of these tweak programs allow you store email attachmetns on SD card. Have you done this?

Yes I do store on card, but I sue the default method, no extra tweaking.
I will undo and post results
That may have done it
May also qure why some pictures do not show in HTML in messages
so far I agree with snooginsguy.
After once it works till a soft reset.
I was hoping somebody would be able to help me :
My TYTN II has been working just fine, but just the other day my email program just stopped working. No matter where I try to open it from, it doesn't open. I can't even receive SMS messages (because it is the same program that handles emails). Also of interseting note is that PocketCM contacts, when opened loads then closes itself. None of my other programs (like Emoze) can access the email box either. I've even tried running the tmail.exe directly from the windows directory, but alas no luck.
Can anybody help?!
Anything would be helpful
same prob here. its not the first time it has happened. the previous times i had to do a hard reset in order to fix it. I do not want to to that again. please help.
If pulling your memory card fixes the problem then the issue is corruption on the memory card. To stop the problem change the setting in messaging so that attachments are stored in main memory and not the card.
My tytn II crashed today, then crashed again and again and again! I've narrowed it down to my HTC home and a weird message in my inbox, listed as 'no sender, no subject' and no file size, it just says ok. i can't delete this file from within outlook, and don't know how to get rid of it. It's not on my work computer (I use push email). If I untick HTC home things work fine, but the email is still there.
Any clues what the problem may be, or indeed how I get rid of the damned message??!!
Thanks.
Matthew
hard reset ur phone. it will delete everything that wasn't on the phone when u first got it. mak sur u back up data that is imp to u first.
Does anyone know the path to the outlook inbox in wm6? Cant find it and I want to try deleting the weird message there.
Does anyone have the same problem? All of a sudden, an error message appeared saying that there is a problem with the APLauncher.exe then I can't open any messages!!
I can't open any SMS or Emails by selecting Start menu - Messaging - SMS \ MMS or Hotmail - press on any message title. All it gives me is a blank screen. I have checked in Device/Windows/Messaging and seems to have all the messages there (.mbp) files.
Can anyone help
Reset?
This may be an obvious answer, but have you tried a soft-reset?
Done and not doing the job. It went ok for a while, and it is not working again. I know I can do hard reset but of course don't want hee hee.
Any other suggestion anyone? like a .cab file to install the APlauncher.exe to replace the old one?
Today my message app stopped working. My today screen says "1 unread mail" but the app doesnt start if i click it, the hardware evenlope button OR messages app by start menu... what do i do??! HELP!!?
Running stock rom wm 6.1 norwegian.
sorry, wrong forum i know :/
Try
Deleting your inbox folder on your SD Card. Also remember its software. So all sorts of settings that you don't believe to be associated with your tmail.exe may effect it. Do you have your IE folders going to your storage drive...that would include anything like bookmarks and otherwise...if so set that back to default under Advanced configuration.
I'm having the same problem
