Hello pals, I've got one grave problem:
I am owner of SE Xperia X8 - E15i
- Android 1.6
- 2.6.29 core
- 1.3.A.0.50
it is impossible to flash to newer OS. I've tried to flash it via SE PC companion, but it crashed in 2nd phase - prepairing. I've tried it at Win 7 and WinXP (in VirtualBox in Linux) - both failed. According that, I was unable to root the phone, and flash ANY rom... Help please...
Use SEUS instead.

At the beginning, when i started using this rom, everything works fine.. the issues occurs when i bought a new mainbord & had to reinstall my drivers.
Now im unable to connect my phone to by pc.
I already reinstalled KIES and i also downloaded the SDK Managers & the google drivers, and i did all the steps for "unkown devices" ( the thing this the nexus s driver) - but it wont work for me :s.
btw: im running w7 ultimate 64bit version.
Please guys, can u help me ? Or do i have to reinstall w7 ?

I only had problem to connect to KIES **ONLY** when I deleted GooglePartnerSetup.apk and wssyncmlnps.apk and .odex ... Check if you have these files inside /system/app
And also ... mtpApplication.apk
These files, I think have to do with Kies ...
To access SdCard of the phone ... i think it's enought to have windows drivers.
Can someone give me E16i stock Kernel in ftf form, i dont want E15i ftf because only it is there on the whole fda forum. anybody have E16i kernel.
They have the same hardware ,so it will be no problem if you flash the e e15i kernel.i looked for a link with e16i but didn't find anything.Reflash with pc companion that will do the trick.

I did try to flash it with PC Companion and SEUS but it does not give me a option of repair after me unlocking the bootloader. so can you tell me any other workaround to atleast get the repair option to reflash the original stock kernel from PC companion and SEUS

Plain and simple answer to your question:
THERE IS NO FTF ROM IMAGE OF THE W8 ON XDA - AND THERE NEVER WAS.
As for the Kernel ...
If you JUST want the kernel look into lrakkarl's "FroyoPro" ROM thread in the Development section - there's a link to the Kernel FTF in the 2nd post.
If you want the whole "E16i" baseband find and download the E15i baseband (also contains the kernel) FTF - there's no difference between the W8 and X8, it's the actual "Walkman" ROM that makes the W8 different from the X8.

And to repeat it again: THE E15 KERNEL IS THE SAME AS THE E16 KERNEL! THE "WALKMAN" ROM IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE W8 AND X8!
And since there's no W8 FTF ROM image

This is the "latest-and-greatest" Android version for the X8 Sony Ericsson ever released. Also works with the W8, of course there are no "Walkman" parts included. If you need the genuine W8 ROM you have to try and get the Repair function of PC Companion to restore your phone.
How can i repair my sony ericsson w8 if it the power turns on, but the touch screen freezes or not working after I installed Go launcher EX.. do I need to reflash or something?
I tried to use Flashtool 0.2.9.1 and choose "X8_E15_2.1.1.C.0.0_generic.ftf" as ROM but still i'm getting an error "ERROR - Please install or reinstall device drivers from drivers folder"
I'm a newbie so what can I do to fix this.

Sounds like you don't have the required Android device drivers installed.
Either install PC Companion to install the Android drivers into Windows, or look into the "drivers" directory inside the "Flashtool" directory and install the Gordon's Gate driver ("ggsetup-2.2.0.10.exe" in case of Flashtool 0.2.9.1).
Without the device drivers installed Flashtool won't be able to talk to your phone.

Firstly I have spent 1/2 the day googling and reading the existing stuff on this and other forums.. This post is a last resort.
I am trying to install CM on my Galaxy and am getting the following error every machine I try on:
Error: claiming interface failed!
I have the following setup:
Samsung Galaxy S
Model: GT-I9000
Firmware: 2.2
Base I9000BOJP3
Kernal 2.6.32.9
Build: Froyo.BOJPB
Macbook Pro Running Windows 7 x64
x2 HP 8300 Running Windows 7 x64 (1 on domain / 1 on workgroup)
Heimdall_V1.4rc1_win
Hardcore-Speedmod
I have done the driver installs from zadig (elevated and not) and can only assume the drivers are installing correctly on all machines - if I dont do the driver install I get an error in heimdall (error-12, once I install the drivers that goes away).
I have found fixes on MACs and LINUX but nothing for Win.
Can anyone shed any light on what might be causing this error? Starting to suspect its the phone itself??

irst of all, thanks to anyone can help, i ve searched but i didn t find an answer to my questions.
[*]wanna update on a stock firmware, unlocked bootloader,no root,xperia 6903 z1, via flashtool on a mac osx running os 10.7.5.
[*]i was able to use flashtool on a previous xpseria s, unlocked and root smartphone, but i reinstall os system too, so im not sure what i really need to make flashtool work.
[*]on my mac flashtool neither start just bounces a couple of time and shut down, no xperia z1 attached.
[*]well that s all, what do i need step by step ti update my xperia z1 before is rolled out in my country ( italia)? why flashtool doesnt start.

I want to flash my xperia zr so i installed the latest version of flashtool but it's not opening.I tried older version too but still not working.My laptop's OS is windows 10.Is this a windows problem?Please help.Yesterday I tried to install pureX v1 rom in my xperia zr through clockmodrecovery but faild and not booting up after showing Sony logo.My device bootloader is locked.But that rom can be install on a locked bootloader.What's wrong?
Have you tried running the application with administrative privileges?
Right click on flash tool and run as admin. This might be caused due to Windows 10( if you have upgraded then various drivers will also not work. But it is not related to your problem )
Alternatively, if you have high end computer you could use Virtual Box and install windows 7 inside it and use flash tool.
I tried to run as admin but no luck.I don't have high end pc.What else I can do?I forgot to mention that The problem occurred when I updated my laptop to new windows 10 cumulative and some other definition update but before then I could open flashtool.So is this a windows software related issue?
By the way,How do I use virtualbox?and with intel core i3 processor and 4gm ram can I use virtualbox?Please tell me if there any other flashtool app available to flash my phone!!?
